Hi I notice in your video, you have a diverter valve like my skimmer has. If you put the diverter valve back first, will the skimaround fit and function well. I want a skimaround but have concerns the diverter valve sets to high up from the bottom of the skimmer, thank you for your input.
With the skimmer installed there shouldn’t be anything covering the holes, on older type 1 way systems a Device can be put over one hole in the skimmer basket hole to stop suction from there and allow all the suction from the deep end of the pool. Regarding suction you can start with the skimmer on the top dot and move down one by one until you get the swirling effect
Hopefully yours worked fine for you. Mine would not seat back in the proper position when the pump would come on each day. Also, the basket tends to pop apart from the top piece if it gets too full of debris causing the pool pumps secondary basket to catch the debris. I'm sending mine back since I'm within the 15 day return period. Cool idea but poorly implemented. They should have weighted the basket.
@@metoo3918 they emailed me a few days ago saying that they were processing my refund but had to inspect the item to make sure everything was sent back and that it was in “like new” condition. They said it would take 10 to 15 days to process and give me an answer.
Is it bad for the pump to have work harder to pull in the water like this? (this is what it looks like to me!) Plus the sock, seems like the pump might be working harder?
Ordered from FL USA skim around on google should take you to manufacturers site. I don’t believe they do have a floating model, that would be an entirely different system.

My basket sits much deeper in the skimmer chamber than in this video and therefore, it had zero effect, even with my pump on high and with the low flow part attached. Also, the basked that comes with this product is tiny compared to my current skimmer basket. Keep both of these points in mind if you are thinking about purchasing this product
It’s a diverter valve or a safety valve. If your pool level became too low and water wasn’t entering the skimmer the valve would seal shut pulling all water from the hole at the bottom of the pool. It could also close if too much debris in skimmer basket. It’s saving your pump in case water from the skimmer area cannot be pulled from the skimmer. Two holes in the boom of skimmer basket. The one furthest away from the pool leads to the pump and filter the other hole closest to the pool leads from the outlet from the bottom of the pool
They don't honor their warranty. The website states free replacement including shipping. The top of mine broke and I contacted them for a replacement part. They sent me an invoice for $15.99 for shipping which is more than the part and shipping cost would be for the part. Its made flimsy and wont last if you grab it by the top of the basket as shown in their videos.
They don't honor the return time either. When you try to initiate the return the website says they found your order but it does not qualify for return. Even though it does qualify for return. No customer service number to call.
Terrible service from your CS, ordered my skimmer, Paypal routed it to my old address, your CS says they cannot do anything about it and the person at my old address will have to return it to the warehouse or i am out of luck, I work in the carrier industry and know you can stop and get a shipment returned, disgusting customer service.
I just bought 2 of these things and the box came opened because they didn't use enough tape. The instructions are NOT user friendly and I haven't seen the swirl at all yet. Stupid product.

Could say that about any filter that uses a pump to circulate liquid! My pump is fine and the skim around is working perfectly!
I have a quest on when the pool goes on and off. When the pump turns back on does it snug back in place on a daily basis or do you have push it down?
Mine site back into place everyday on its own.
My skimmers have clips that stick out just a little to hold the bucket in place.
My question would be about the bernoulli effect - it seems like maybe you have too much. Wouldn't that be sucking air into you pump and filter?

That's correct you do not want a vortex in your skimmer.
do you only install 1 skim around if you have 2 skimmers in your pool?
I supposed they would depend on how much crud is left in the water. I would install 1 first but two would work much better
I put a smooth river rock in my skimmer basket to keep in from floating up

Where is this ordered from? Do they make a model that will float freely in the pool attached to a vacuum hose?

There's a round piece under the stock basket do I remove it to? There basket won't sit flush with the stock piece under it
That is called a diverter disk do not remove it.
Mine is still working great. Some use a little weight to keep it seated!
I have a 3lb weight holding mine down till I backwashed.. then the suction was strong

Junk - Poor quality plastic. Mine broke and Skim A Round does not honor thier own warranty. Did not notice it increase suction at all.
