  • I finished installing the plugs, condensor, points, rotor, distributor cap, wires, water pump impellar, and changed the oil and filter. I removed the fuel tank and drained the bad gas. Thanks for tuning in!

    Rain every time you work on it. That's a sign to sell the ole girl.

    Wouldnt be a day working on the biat without the rain would it? How do you know which way the impeller spins to install it in the correct rotating position?

    • @zacksrandomprojects9698
      @zacksrandomprojects9698  4 роки тому

      I guess I coulda bumped the motor over to see which way the impellar shaft spins, and kinda twist the impellar in when I installed it so the fins are spinning the right way. I figured its a soft rubber though and If the fins were aiming the wrong way they would correct them selves just as soon as I started the motor.

    Hi Zach, thank you for the video. Very helpful. I have a similar engine, and I do not see engine mount on the front side of the engine. Only transom assembly is holding up the engine. Is that how they are built? In your engine bay, do you have anything that is holding your engine up on the front side?

    • @zacksrandomprojects9698
      @zacksrandomprojects9698  2 роки тому +3

      Hey Joe thanks for watching. You are correct, the only thing that holds the engine up is the bolts that go through the transom. This is the first time I have seen that also. No side mounts at all. Im gonna try to make videos on upcoming Fridays of me working on the boat. Stay tuned! Have a good one man!

    Hey Zach. The impellar shaft for the water pump was that a one piece shaft? Trying to locate one. I have the same pump. Thanks, Roy

    I have two engines like this one (aq130) and I intend to renovate it, but I'm afraid I won't find parts for it. Did you have difficulty finding the pistons and other parts for this engine? what was the hardest part to find?
    Could you give me an address where you bought the parts? The rubber repair of the water pump was used from which engine?

    • @zacksrandomprojects9698
      @zacksrandomprojects9698  Рік тому +1

      Ebay, Amazon, and Google Volvo Penta AQ130D. I didnt buy pistons. Everything was easy to find. Thanks for watching

      I didnt have much time to answer you earlier because I was at work. Im home now and had a few minutes to look up stuff for the Volvo Penta AQ130D. There is complete engine rebuild kits on ebay for this engine for around $900 and there is tons of water pump rebuild kits also. You should have no problem finding parts from ebay alone, but like I said I also got parts from Amazon, before I boycotted them for being sorry asses. I also got parts from legit Volvo Penta parts stores that I Googled. I wish you luck!

    Can someone tell me how to check the timing on this engine? I don't see a timing tab.

    Hi Zack. I have the same 130D motor. It needs a oil pump, no oil pressure. Can you tell me is the pump interior or exterior on the motor. I do not want to pull the motor to change the pump. Thanks Zack

      Look up volvopentastore.com and type in model # and stuff and you can see exploded views. I would do it for you but the wife is dragging me out to dinner now. Lol. If I havent heard from you in a day or two I'll try to resesrch it and get back to you. I did look up the oil pump on ebay and it looked external to me, but I might be wrong. It looked like it was gear drive. I wouldnt take my word on it though.
      Edit: Im not sure. Lol I seen another one on ebay with a definite pick-up screen, which means it would be internal. Gotta go for now. Good luck!

      @@davidbenedict7942 I found a great website called marinepartsexpress.com they have the exploded view microfiche. I typed up 1977 Volvo Penta AQ130D in the Marine Engine section and clicked on it. It brought up a list of engine parts. I went down to the 'engine lubrication' section and seen that they are internal inside the oil pan on the schematic. Feel free to double check me though. There was tons of engines to choose from in the AQ130D section. It is grouped with all the other A, B, Cs and so on. Check it out. Good luck!

    Hi there, my boyfriend and I just bought a 1976 tri holl ranger with a volvo penta 130D/280 marine engine, we are trying to get all th best info on it. Your videos show the same engine so any advice? Please?

      Hey thanks for watching. I wish I could say Im an expert on the subject but I cant. Lol I probably know just as much as yall. I just gave it a full tune up and oil change is all I did. I got the parts from Amazon, ebay, and volvopenta.com There is plenty of info on those engines if you google 'volvo penta 130d' etc... I found online houseboat forums where people were talking about the engines and out drives. The conversations might have been 10 or 15 years old, but they still helped. I know that wasnt much help at all lol.

      @@sibonnephornprapha9243 Oh I thought you had it identified as a Volvo Penta 130D? In any case, I imagine there is casting numbers, or a little metal I.D. tag on the engine block that you could Google. Mine was a little metal tag attached to the block that actually says it's a 1977 Volvo Penta 130D. The 130D is actually 110HP, not 130. I wish you luck! 🍻

    Me 2. Originally built by a company up north that made RV's and decided to make small house boats out of their parts inventory until the owner died. I can send you some pictures of mine if you have an email address.

    Where can I find parts for this.

    • @zacksrandomprojects9698
      @zacksrandomprojects9698  2 роки тому

      Ebay and amazon is where I got most of the parts. I also just googled whatever I was looking for and a bunch of results came up. Volvopenta.com I think was one of the places.
