Bombers are the most odd ones. While multirole/interceptor/striker are quite the same although they have different attributes.

Battleships are too expensive to operate, and modern weapons will simply pass through their superstructures. Better to fit out a tanker with large numbers of missiles and abandon ship after they are fired.

Destroyers are global and heavily armed with a trend towards 200-250 cells VLS ; frigates are regional and conseguently armed 48 to 96 cells VLS about half a price of a DD . Really cheap OPVs are last kind of reasonable ships if you can get 10 instead of a single Destroyer , Cruisers and Battleships were absorbed by role in the growth of DDs , Corvettes are just 20% discounted small FFs or on the other hand an expensive OPV , FACs will be sunk as soon as a reconaissance aircraft fire couple of missiles . In the end today there are only 2 warships DD and FF plus CVN , SS/N , LHD , LPD , supply and auxiliaries !

The Indian Navy doesn't need cruisers because they are too expensive. It needs more and larger conventional submarines (capable of vertical launch) and destroyers. I also believe that aircraft carriers and nuclear submarines are a waste of money for India. In any future naval conflict, India's goal will likely be to deny Pakistan access to the sea or to block China from interring the Indian Ocean. Both tasks require long-range aircraft, submarines, and surface vessels that can be purchased in large numbers. Aircraft carriers are likely to be little more than targets for missiles. Thank you.

Bro can India buy Kirov class battle cruiser from Russia. To become blue water navy we must have few cruisers. Even Pakistan have one.
Ashu Shukal, bro pakistan doesn't have any battle cruiser. Maintenaining a battlecruiser is a expensive affair & offensive centric ;that's why UK,Germany,Japan doesn't make any battle cruiser anymore. Our security policy is purely defensive & having a battlecruiser doesn't fit to our military doctrine as well as pocket. Instead of this Indian Navy is concentrating more on submarines. Ultimately strong submarine fleets is the need of the hour.It's better to built 3 submarines at the cost of one battlecruiser since it can provide more firepower than the former.
