Main culprit is IAF which is not giving preference to indigenous products and finding unnecessary faults. They continue to fly mig 21 from 1960 , then crash and say government not giving them good planes. Government and IAF should prioritise indigenous products and boost production
India does not have jet engine capability. They really need to do like China and build the tech and supply chain from ground up.

कुछ लोग अपनी गलती दूसरों पर थोपते हैं, यही IAF का हिसाब है। प्रोडक्शन शुरु होने के बाद IAF कुछ नई चीजें HAL से Demand करता है, अब delay होना तो स्वाभाविक है। पहले भी IAF ने तेजस को बनने से रोकने के लिए(जब तेजस अपने Development में था) समय-समय पर अपनी Requirements बदली हैं जिससे कि DRDO/ADA/HAL कभी ये तय नहीं कर सकीं कि IAF को चाहिए क्या। IAF के अधिकारियों को कमीशन के चक्कर में हमेशा विदेशों से प्लेन खरीदने में रुचि रही है।

If you will make manufacture Tejas now then also you will not get any benefits but spending your money as a waste.
If Indian Army and defence researchers wants any edge or equivalent to the counter nation capabilities then those manufacturing and spending on those manufacturing will give us any benefits.

Why india not considering ToT of existing hogh thrust engine abd new engine in future from Rolls Royce where they are ready to share full ToT. RR have already high thrust engine need to acquire immediately thru govt deal so that disruption in engine supply can be avoided. Your view?
There are some doubts Rolls Royce don't have that kind of Jet engine design experience,
RR engine cost will be high, there quality also high,
Huge amount need to invest,
This amount there is no guarantee, it's R and D if project fails who will take responsibility,
US anytime can put sanction,
Major challenge is west never share metallurgy and source code of jet engine,
So if they cheat or fool us....

@@rakesharamaiah2737 Thanks for logical comment. Price negotiation with competitive pricing must be done to avail existing high trust engine technology including metallurgy and blade. RR already have high trust engine. This will ensure time saving, efficiency..Tejas 1A delaying because short supply from GE which is a willful act from US. So we need a better engine technology and a new way out to resolve the issue
HAL got 75 enginees from GE where did it go??

What kind of a planning is this? If this is a critical project, why would not have a Plan B and back ups and alternate sources? These are some of the basics of project management. Hope they do not do the same for AMCA prog. Rolls Royce has offered and India should take up that offer to have a back up to GE414 engines. Same for procurement of Rafael fighters for Navy. Why did they eliminate F18s early in the prog. They should have kept them in the race and have both of them compete each other for price.
Its interesting why the delay by GE Engines n why there was only 1 Vendor....usa is a known for its Unrelaybility.......i hope HAL is charging penalties on delayed supply of engines......

Instead of manufacturing a 4th generation Aircraft, India should focus on 5+ generation Aircraft and Increase their Drones capabilities and number of drones to counter other Aircrafts, neutralise enemies defence capabilities and help our Aircraft in case of any strikes.
Carrying 50-100 drones in Aircraft for different purposes are far better than carrying just 8 missiles but if we make mix with both capabilities then that will be flawless

INDIA is acting like a NANDI BAIL--- extremely slow in manufacturing, which hampers our defense. If INDIA has to think of CHINA as our main enemy, then we should manufacture the way CHINA manufactures. Today they have 250 plus J21/J31 fighters in large numbers--all stealth. India is still far behind CHINA even if they are 80% stealth fighters, IN NO WAY WE CAN WIN AN AIR BATTLE. with them. On top of it, they have supplied equally efficient J10 fighters to Pakistan, modern attack submarines, and smart drones, plus Pakistan has Turkish Bayraktar drones all top in technology. How can INDIA defend against any country or, in the worst scenario how can we defend if both Pakistan & China attack us. INDIA MUST THINK ON MILITARY TERMS---AND BUY IMMEDIATELY STEALTH AIRCRAFT F35 FROM THE USA, AT LEAST 4 SQUADRONS---WITH EXISTING HIGH TECHNOLOGY AS A DETERRENT TO BOTH CHINA & PAKISTAN.
