I would just love to say that I genuinely enjoy watching Featr's content now more than ever. Thank you Erwan and team for continuously producing really good videos that spark conversations about Filipino food & its various aspects. Ever since the rebrand, I found myself looking forward to watching more videos like this and the short documentaries on Ube, and the Ifugao Etag & traditional ceremonies revolving around food. Keep doing amazing work, always looking forward to the next video!
so TRUE... same here... wasn't interested before.. but now its more engaging... Keep on doing this kind of Docu series about food and people FAT KID!!!
I love this kind of sound quality. Clear and crisp in their conversation but not clearing out the surrounding sound, making it more authentic and relatable.
It's quite interesting to know how Maranao food is more of an Indonesian food - the green curry sauce, the chili/sambal, duck/bebek and how they describe the smell. What you see is what you get. And it's Far different from what we have in the North. Also, I admire how Erwan showcases the diversity of Filipino food (and how he revolutionize them) which made me want to explore more of our own. Keep it up! -Filipino expat here in Indonesia
Pag talaga FEATR or erwan vlogs pinapanood ko kase alam mong may quality at well researched. Yung siksik at pinagisipan at hindi minadali yung content. Been a fan and avid watcher for 5 years now. This is the type of vlogs that enriches your life 😊. Hoping na marami pang Pinoy manood nito specially mga kabataan natin para maging culturally aware tayo.
Dare I say this episode reminded me of Anthony bourdain’s no reservation show. It’s good, informative conversations about our culture, history, food and interpersonal connections that explains who we are as people, as a country. I can watch these type of episodes endlessly. Spectacular job Erwan and featr crew. Looking forward to the next episode. ❤❤❤
Erwan is not just the typical vlogger who creates content just for the sake of having a content.. he puts so much effort into his craft and his contents are well-thought, relevant and with substance. Surely, a reflection of how he is as a person.. full of substance
Leah Cohen's sisig in her New York restaurant is the best I've had in NY. I think her secret ingredient in her sisig is the hint of bagoong on it. Or my tastebuds got it wrong.
Leah Cohen is just one of many Filipino’s in America that’s making a name for themselves. Tim Flores and Genie Kwon are one of first Michelin star restaurant owners in Chicago. Comerford, is a chef the executive chef for the White house just to name a few.
Putting coconut milk in the adobo also creates a velvety texture. Great cuisine always evolves. Really enjoyed their vision and approach to filipino food culture.
I love your videos because they are really well produced - the quality of the videos is on par or even better sometimes than those that are made by big tv networks. Also, the channel does not dwell on what's popular just to get views, it also features certain topics that are needed to be given attention to, like our calamansi and ube production. Keep up the good work, FEATR team!
Tbh the more I watch your episodes featuring different Filipino regional cuisine the more I feel I have so much to learn about its diverse food and culture myself 😅 Hats off for going the road less travelled in your contents/production! Love this collab with Chef Leah! Thank you both for showing the world what and how Filipino cuisines are made of. ❤❤❤
Before, I only know Erwan as "Anne Curtis' husband." But now, I can't get enough of his videos and how more knowledgeable he is than I am as a Filipino, considering I'm a full-blooded one. My new idol and I'm looking forward to more adventures and videos from him.
I am so amused listening to your conversation. I learned a lot from both of you. Thank you for guesting Chef Leah. It makes this video not only entertaining but also informative and educational. Kudos to you Erwan. A follower from Melbournes saying Thank you.
21:33 adobo in gata (coconut milk_ is my fave type of adobo and using native chicken. my father used to tenderize the chicken meat in the gata first then put the adobo ingredients. it so good especially if you add spices like sili. it's like almost pulutan- like food
Good thing Erwan cleared up the adobo sa gata with Leah, so she can just keep making it as much as she wants. Whoever that troll is should have at least researched the cuisine, or even just adobo specifically 🤣 Anyways, all the best to the family Erwan, at sana maging mas kengkoy pa kay Anne si Dahlia hehe
Great job going to the Maranao restaurant! Jun-Naira's is on my culinary list the next time I'm in Muslim town/Quiapo. I think more Filipinos (including diasporic Filipinos in some way shape or form like ourselves) need to be humble enough to admit we all DON'T know many of the foods in this immensely culturally and culinarily diverse country, and be willing to discover new foods and cultures here that they never knew existed.
I learn so much from this channel. Calamansi would grow well in Florida, if only they didn't get so much hurricanes. Which starts June 1 & there's already one in the Atlantic
Im from mindanao and some food of that is common here.. what a coincidence i just saw chef leah in "beat bobby flay" ka duo nya si auntie esther ang nililigawan ni uncle roger 😂
I just love you guys love Filipino food cause my kids are half like you guys dang I better let them visit Philippines and you guys are digging it proud Filipino food right on o yeah my niece lives in queens new York yamsayin
Calamansi definitely thrives in Florida. A friend of mine in the Northeast always comes back with a big bag of fresh Calamansi when she goes to visit her sister in Florida.
Oh, Chef Leah, from where I come from, which is Albay in Bicol Region (where Mt. Mayon is located), it's a common thing to put coconut in everything---even in Dinuguan. Our popular version of Adobo is the traditional one where only garlic, salt, lard ad vinegar--no soy sauce--are used. But we also have a version where there's soy sauce mixed with coconut milk (constantly, vigourously stirred to keep it creamy). In some parts of Camalig and Jovellar (in Albay), it's called Adobado. So no, your Abobo with Coco Cream is definitely not outrageous!
20:06 this hurts. although we wish for our neighbors to also flourish, but we also are failing to introduce our culture because the government fails to support local farmers in both local and international selling.
Filipinos are of Malay origin so the palapa isn't something "new" or distinct from Indonesia or Malaysian cuisine. It is common in Mindanao as we are geographically nearer those 2 countries.
“So this is a a Golden Mosque area, BUT, this is a good area.” What’s with the BUT, Erwan? I would love Pig and Khao to incorporate this type of cuisine in NY so I can try it. When I went there last year, I have only few choices since I don’t eat pork. And, you can put coconut milk in adobo. That’s how I do it and I grew up in Batangas.
Full sentence please "... But it's a good area because this is where the mosque is and alot of the food here is traditional.." please don't take sentences out of context. Clearly Erwan means that's it's a good area to come for traditional food.
She can be Philippine food tourism ambassador (both or them actually). I don't think the newest PH tourism ambassador would go to these types of food places where authentic filipino food is served.
man if you want to explore more filipino dishes that are very traditional and unique try here at la union, baguio and all the way ilocos sur and norte i guarantee that you wont regret it.😉
One of the reason why filipino cuisine hardly make it internationally ..influenced from malay's chinese and spanish ..comfort food at its best! Nice video!
If you're half Filipino, you're already Filipino, even if you still don't have the passport to prove it. Filipino citizenship is based on jus sanguinis.
Erwan is my guy crush and and his better-half, Anne is my ultimate girl-crush, and now you are featuring Maranao and I am a Maranao. Naaaah bruh, I am double killed (kilig). Get out haha. I just have GB right now!
Erwan's intelligence and well roundedness is evident in every episode plus, mahusay makibagay sa kahit sinong tao. Galing talaga. Sincere. Hindi ka ma imtimidate. Marunong makibagay at makisama.
I'm a big fan of Erwan because he's a well-rounded individual. He's not just a pretty face, but he's also intelligent, humble, and down-to-earth. He's always willing to learn new things and share his knowledge with others. I'm particularly impressed by his passion for food and his commitment to promoting Filipino and Mindanaon cuisine. I didn't even know that Palapa is made from a special scallion. Amazing!
Can't even begin to explain how Erwan is just doing God's work for Pinoy food. Felt so raw and real and honest. Idk why but I was getting Before Sunset vibes from their walks and conversations?? Kudos FEATR!! Where can I buy merch??
As someone who grew up together with the Muslim community in our city, I really appreciate that there are local UA-cam channels like this that feature this cuisine. Very underrated but also very flavorful. I hope Muslim food gets featured a lot. Now that I have moved to a bigger city, I always introduce my friends to beef rendang and other Muslim food and they always love it especially those who enjoy spicy food.
Hey Erwan! Been a fan since you started this channel. Thank you for continuing to educate us about Filipino culture and cuisine. As a Filipino, I still have a lot to learn about my country.

Intelligent Chef 👊 Out-of-the-box type 👍 Good, good Job chef Erwann 👏👏👏👏👏💯💚💚💚
I used to work with Chef Leah here in NYC and she’s the best!!! She’s very proud of our culture. ❤️❤️❤️
I love this kind of sound quality. Clear and crisp in their conversation but not clearing out the surrounding sound, making it more authentic and relatable.

Omg I just found her channel and watched her adobo recipe this morning. My pork belly is now on our fridge and will cook it tomorrow for lunch! 🫶
Galing! Yan ang Pinoy, pinakikilala kung ano at sino tayo. Nakakabilib ka Erwan ❤
Putting coconut milk in the adobo also creates a velvety texture. Great cuisine always evolves. Really enjoyed their vision and approach to filipino food culture.

Wow! Leah Cohen is in PH! I loved her during the 5th Season of Top Chef. Thanks @FEATR for the upload!
I think Erwan should always be the one in the video introducing all the different food in the Philippines. 🎉
I studied in MSU Marawi City and I am amazed at how well versed you are with Maranao Food. So awesome!
Amazing! i did not know she is half pinay! gonna visit her restaurant once am in NY.
Thanks Erwan and team for the nakakabusog na content mentally and visually.
I am so amused listening to your conversation. I learned a lot from both of you. Thank you for guesting Chef Leah. It makes this video not only entertaining
but also informative and educational. Kudos to you Erwan. A follower from Melbournes saying Thank you.
Erwan, well said about the way you described the pancit palabok. Definitely a fusion of influences but surely very Filipino. Kudos
A lot of these foods are what child hood comforts delicacy. It's only appreciated when you can remember growing up and eating when you was a child.
Bitin naman! More chef leah content please. Super fan of top chef!
Awesome! I watched Chef Lisa's Top Chef batch. Congratulations on getting your dual citizenship.

This is such an awesome episode… I felt like I was sitting at the table with you guys.

Oh wow! Top Chef Leah.
Calamansi definitely thrives in Florida. A friend of mine in the Northeast always comes back with a big bag of fresh Calamansi when she goes to visit her sister in Florida.
Loved her in Top Chef!
I started to like you Leah. You deserve to be the global tourism ambassador for the Phils rather than Vanessa Hudgens. You are a proud Filipino.
Amazing! I follow both of you and please keep promoting Filipino dishes and culture. 😊

Actually some of us add Coconut Milk in Adobo even in Dinuguan. There are just some people who haven't tried it or haven't seen it yet.
Chef Leah Cohen?! Awesome!
wooahh is it true? me being the first in comment box. This really explained I'm a huge fan!
Thank you FEATR!! Good collab. Now I’m hungy😄
