    What I can’t believe is that you never explain how to ascertain if the stock you’re looking to short on TOS can in fact be shorted. Are there shares available to short or not? You’d think that would come up somewhere.

    Where do you find the cost per share to short on TOS?

    Good video BUT how to short a stock you already own some of its shares without selling actual shares?

    Great video! Thank you, I have a question , if I put a buy or sell stop? It's only tigger when rich that price? For ejemplo if I want Locke some profit

      If you wanted to lock in profit on the short you generally be setting a buy limit somewhere below the price you originally sold for. The buy stop would go above to exit at your loss

    Thank you for the video! Can you short only with Margin account? I have cash account, does it mean broker won’t borrow me a stock? Should I actually buy the stock first to sell it and only then buy back to make a profit, if I am on cash account?

    • @irinab7524
      @irinab7524 Рік тому

      You can’t short stocks or anything on cash account.
      Buying and then selling is not shorting.
      Apply for a margin and short away

    Can I do this on a cash account with only $2000.00?

    • @shortthestrike
      @shortthestrike  2 роки тому

      Nope, you’ll have to have margin enabled to short

    Don't forget you can't short on a cash account; the account needs to be a margin account before you can short.

    For most part TOS does not seem "user friendly" at all. I've been using it for over a year and while I've managed to figure the charts out, to a certain extent, the rest of it feels like I'm trying to solve a Rubik's Cube all the time. It would be substantially better if they had "help" icons to click on throughout the entire app. I'm still using the TDA classic website platform to write my orders... It's user friendly.
