Two things you've done in this video that NO ONE ELSE in here has done!! First off, You speak with a clear voice and easy to understand and secondly you magnified the screen where people can actually see what it is you're doing and trying to explain!!!!!!! it gets frustrating when watching other youtubers adding clips similar to the one you did to try to explain things to others but with 2 major ISSUES. First, they zip right through it which makes it very difficult to follow and secondly, the Thinkerswim screen letters are so tiny that even if you paused the screen and looked at letters with a magnifying lenz, you still couldn't make out what it is. So, THANK YOU!
My compliments to you - only one suggestion, using only one screen instead of a split screen (one above & one below) would be easier to follow. Otherwise, good job.
I noticed when I’m in a position with a stop loss, “flatten” doesn’t get me out of the position unless I cancel the stop loss first. Would the “flatten now” solve this problem for me?

The problem I have with TOS is once I have a stop and limit order in, it's difficult to change the price. Plus you can't use hotkeys to sell the order if there's already a limit order in. I guess you have to use flatten to quickly sell a position that doesn't hit your stop or limit? Is there a way to change the stop or limit price with hot keys? Or you have to drag the prices with the mouse?
Exactly the info I'm looking for as well as being able to follow the trade up and down with my stop. There is no setting for controlling a "floating" stop- or at least none that I can find. I really need more info on Risk management and stops loss settings. Not easy to find a visual on filling out the various ways to place orders.

I know people who use it and gain time and time again. I'm still going back and forth trying to sell a position. Also, how can we change the qty? Mine only says 100 300 500 1K 2K. How can I adjust it to 10, 3, 5? I'm a year and a half in and am trying like heck to understand. Thank you.

I've noticed that if the price ladder shows a spread of say, 0.10, and is trading at low volume, and I place a buy offer 0.02 or 0.03 above the highest bid price, often the nearby current bid prices instantaneously move up closer to my bid. What is causing this? It happens so fast that it must be automated.
The exchanges and market makers compete in price. The wider the bid/ask the more money they end up making and it’s intended to be their compensation for making markets. If you raise the bid, they naturally tend to raise their price to compete. It’s all computers now so it’ll happen incredibly fast.
that's part of the problem... "jam packed with information" really needs to be simplified. I should be able to drag the flags for a tailing stop in the chart. Editing is a problem when you have to leave the chart page to edit a working order. I'm now to TOS so maybe I'm missing something. ok. just noticed that I can right click the flag and do a cancel/replace... how do I get rid of the confirmation dialog... just another delay. I think they have some work to do to make this faster. Interestingly the web based version is much fast in this regard but slower to transmit orders... execution time suffers because it's a web page.
When you hover down the price on the bid size it should say buy + Limit at least that is what mine is showing. You may have to contact TD Ameritrade direct if you can't get it to work. Hope this helps!!!
Thank you for the Video. The one question I have is when you use the Hot Keys, Control B or Control S, you had two charts open. How did you activate the MSFT Chart so that would trade instead of the other security you had open? Thank you again!
It looks like the top section of his Active Trader tab is selected with the blue outline . That might be how but not completely sure. Seems easy to mess up if you think you have one thing selected and accidentally have another thing so be careful if so.
Looking 2 upgrade my ToS knowledge & stumbled on 2 this tutorial. Absolutely 1st rate! Will B looking at your other videos 2 enhance my ToS performance. thanks

They have a Flatten and a Flatten now button ? What's the difference in the two buttons? Thanks
Flatten will have a confirmation box pop up to confirm you want to close your entire position. Flatten now is instant, no confirmation. Hope it helps!

I think you mean you wouldnt use the AT for scalping not think or swim. What wrong with ToS for scalping?
