The audio of my voice gets a bit quiet towards the end. Also, the encounters at the start can get foggy. I started the file as a run of Sweltering Sun, but I converted it to Photonic Sun since the game was too hard. So throughout the video, I make a couple mistakes with keeping track of my encounters. For example, in the SS run, a Spearow died. Then in the PS run, an actual valid Spearow died, but it still had the sprite of the SS Spearow. So when I dug through the files to remove all the sprite changes, I didn't keep track that the PS Spearow had died, I thought I never had one. And so I caught another to be used in the Dexio and Guzma fights later on which shouldn't be there. So some encounters I had when I shouldn't have, and others I should have when I didn't. It overall balances out though so it's chill

I'm glad to see someone covering Photonic Sun in a playthrough. As someone who already finds the difficulty of USUM quite appealing, Photonic Sun truly takes it to the next level. I really hope more UA-camrs cover this ROM Hack as it is severely underrated. In the future, I'd also like to see you take a look at Crowned Sword and Armored Shield. It's one of the only ROM hacks I've seen for Sword and Shield and it would be awesome to see people cover it. It even updates the teams of trainers in the Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra DLCs while also having them be available before you become the champion.

Well, I didn't get into medical school, so I;m applying again, but until I hear back, I'll just be looking for jobs. Hopefully, I get into a med school or at least a Master's program by next summer.

Compared to the games that came before it, yeah USUM more on the difficult side. I'd probably put it around Platinum or BW1.

Emergency Exit doesn't work in totem battles. I don't remember if it's intended or a bug. I just know that I lost my Golisopod to Totem-Mimikyu.
Really glad to see you enjoy this hack, it does a lot of right, but i personally didn't have fun playing it and it felt like a chore midway through, so i gave up playing it
I agree it’s very tedious to play. Partly because it’s so long but also because there’s so much change to this game that every fight feels like a grind
@@DocZ yes, the main fight were so grindy to me after some point, but it also does so much interesting things that I genuinely think that everyone that likes Gen 7 should try it
do you play this on pc and connect a controller or do you need a 3ds
Ummm if you find a method of dumping the rom onto the 3ds that would be best
I'm just doing a regular nuzlocke of ultra sun and I'm already at 12 deaths after mallow, think I probably won't even get past the first totem if I did this romhack lmao

It's through PKhex. There are no stones in the game.

@@DocZ It had sturdy just to be safe .mimikyu was a pain in the ass because of sturdy and drain punch.

What 3DS emulator do you use? I cannot find a reliable one
I use Citra, but I know something is up with Citra that no longer lets you download it or smth, maybe it doesn't work. I'm not too certain.
@DocZ I sorta have it working bit can't figure out how to save stuff on it to my actual computer. Stuff just saves on the emulator which means I can't use stuff like PkHex.

Yeah, I thought I caught a timburr already, but that was in Sweltering Sun, so when I swapped over, I was like Do we have that already? Everyone was like yeah back at Hau'oli city, so I moved on as if its a dupe. So that's another place where I midcounted my encounter. But chat also didn't want me to have more fighting types because they thought the hawlucha was rigged.

I should've added a point in the video, but I figured that it wasn't too integral to the difficulty of the challenge so I skipped it.

My favorite Alola hack is ultra something
Damn i wish we could find a premade calculator for this rom hack like most rom hack have cause in this one, you honestly would need to prepare for every fight towards mid-game onward those trainers are fierce and because i couldnt prepare for every fight aside boss ones ( and even then some infos are missing like nature or how evs are spread) i had to downgrade from hardcore nuzlocke to regular one with healing otherwise i would leave everyfight with a body bag. Brutal!
Finally a good video on this hack, can't wait to see a nuzlocke of it

This I will not do. I actually started the file as an Attempt of Sweltering Sun and got to Hau'oli city, but the game is SO changed that it's not fun to keep track of.

I'm certain this ROM Hack is fun and all, but it's missing one crucial feature...
...You still can't skip the cutscenes.
I hope someone makes a hack of Gen 7 but they only give it a Skip Cutscene button and do nothing else to it and it becomes
1) standardized for speedruns
2) pokétuber nuzlocking bc i feel like people would run gen 7 more if Game Freak gave this single cool life hack
The creator actually addressed this, it is as of now, impossible to do it as they stated that every time they tried to do something to enable cutscene skipping, the game would simply crash

How tf do you edit your streams? That's like countless hours of tedious editing
It's just part of it. It's what needs to be done in order to make videos. It is fun to go back in editing to see what I could've done better or worse though.
Genuinely this is prob the best hack, sure some changes may destroy niche strats but you arent pvping, the happiness hax evens out the field for weird things too. Only really struggled at guzma's big fight and not knowing what totem mon it was so my lead was bad and i got swept sometimes, annoying but not really my fault playing blind.
Our boy DocZ has become one of my Top 3 favorite Nuzlockers, very entertaining and hes skilled
