Replaced mine with this part, lasted about 4 thousand miles. Even though I ended up replacing the whole valve body afterwards, the 92$ for the solenoid was still worth it in my opinion.
Dorman parts don’t last, If you are going to replace just the solenoid get a used OEM one from a junkyard valve body and test its resistance, It should be around 13 ohms if it’s a good unit
Weird no solenoid in the list of the Outback 2020 does the 2020 Outback use a different setup of solenoid? my 2020 Outback as 3700 miles not worry yet but it's nice to know now than later.
How are you determining which of the solenoids needs replaced? It looks like there are four inside. I am getting the P2764 Code and all of the symptoms that go along with it.
That’s my plan is to single them out, but also considering switching all four of then if they’re the same so I don’t have another failure 50 miles after replacing one or two. I assume they’re all the same? Dorman didn’t answer about P2764, just sent me to an image about 2763 and the first one. Thanks!
If the valve body is on top like this forester, then just change the solenoid. BUT if it is on the bottom and requires the trans to be drained, then definitely change the whole valve body.
Your tutorial on the removal / install of the solenoid is appreciated.

Did the new valve body last? Did you do a relearn? Too
@@cyberpun2552 yes so far so good. Relearn was easy. I used an autell scan tool to do so
$92 and plus labor time does not sound worth it for only 4k miles.
@@pilotdog68 it was worth it as a temporary fix. I’m just glad it failed again before the road trip I just went on 😝
Did the replaced solenoid fail, or was there a different failure in the valve body??

Ah yea, so it can just have the same issue a few thousand miles later 😂😂

any reviews on reliability ?
The Dorman website does not list any solenoids to fit my 2014 Subaru Crosstrek with a 2.0. Is that correct?
I have a p0971 code with similar dash lights on. Will the 926-408 work?

What’s the torque setting for the solenoid retaining bolts?

I have the same question!
Hello! Please take a look at this link and the second image! www.dormanproducts.com/p-143036-926-408.aspx?origin=keyword#mz-expanded-view-785708352985
You need to ohm check them all and replace the bad ones. Mine required two. Works perfect now.

@@coldzerowvall the same.
What month/year did you release these?
Good question! These came out early 2023!
No need for rtv the gasket from metal
It's just needed in two small spots. Mr Subaru and SMA agrees those two areas.
GAHHHH where was this 50k miles and $2500 ago lol

If you out any Dorman products in your vehicle, you better have good AAA subscription... Dorman is 50/50 right out of the box lol. Just don't...
BAD idea IMHO. You’re already taking out the valve body… just simply replace it OEM!
How is saving @ $700 a bad idea?
Simply give me 637 dollars

The valve bodies are $1500 now
@DavidQuick-t4e just picked up mine for 1200. If I made the 2 hour drive from NY to PA it was just over 1k
Bruh about time
Video was helpful yet confusing, because there was 9 bolts 🔩 on my 2014..
