I think he's so used to getting his way, he thought if he just showed up, Dr Now would "have to" give him the surgery like some kind of early bird prize. 😂
Haha right? I couldnt imagine. It is actually impressive that patients can just call up and ask to talk to the doctor. I cant talk to anyone without a voicemail and 48 hours to wait for a call back. even then its support staff. And the way Dr now had him come after hours to run tests to make sure hes okay was impressive. After a long day of saving peoples lives im sure the Dr wanted to just go home and see his family. What a guy
This guy is the OG main character. Does the exact opposite of what his doctor tells him. Then shows up and expects to be enthusiastically catered to. Losing weight won't fix his issues.
Unfortunately, I believe he’s still using. You can tell w his raspy voice, dozing off so much and all the liquor in his room. I truly hope he gets all the help he needs. Thx for the video, Sean! You always make my day!!! Stay Blessed, Everyone!!!
I think you may well be right about that. A raspy gravelly sounding voice can also be a strong indicator of a heart condition. This is actually how a lot of congenital heart conditions are first picked up in otherwise healthy younger children/teens.
"Still using" probably, but not his original drug of choice. He said he was a meth addict but vocal fry and dozing off are signs of opioid and/or benzo addiction.
At 700lbs and 5'0" tall, his BMI is about 135. I am 6'2" and for me to have the same BMI i would have to weigh 1050lbs. He must have one of if not the highest BMI on the show.

As someone who has a lifelong disability, uses a wheelchair, and has also lost around 120lbs, I have to say that being obese as a wheelchair user just absolutely sucks, for so many reasons. The wheelchairs are actually less functional, because they have to focus on one feature: functioning under all that weight. Portability? Gone. Maneuverability, even relative to the size is awful. Suspension? Dream on. Seat padding? What, your ass is padded enough, right? Battery life? Awful. Then there's the social elements. Most doctors won't prescribe wheelchair use at that size, not because they think you can actually walk that far, there's usually other reasons, but as a result, you're paying out of pocket, and a good wheelchair can cost more than a car, especially if you need it motorised (which at that size, you likely do). Then there's the people telling as you go down the street that you should "give your chair to someone who needs it" or ask whether you're just too lazy to walk, or the classic "if you just walked you wouldn't be in this mess". Why people feel the need to harass I will never know. I needed to vent about this and seeing a vaguely tangentially related concept opened the floodgates.
@@susanlett9632 yeah, that is a factor for most people. It's why a lot of wheelchair users have custom fit wheelchairs or a specific pressure relief cushion. The problem is a lot of these solutions either aren't or cannot be regularly offered to 'bariatric patients', or it will be up to a certain weight they can accommodate, as since I've lost weight, I've been able to get aids like those that make the whole experience more comfortable
Wheelchairs are ridiculously expensive. I started getting the basic Drive ones and they are so junky I had to buy a new one once or twice a year. Then my insurance told me I qualified for a custom chair. I was originally supposed to pay 20 percent co-insurance, but the chair and cushion were over $2500. Because I am on disability, they decided to waive the cost and I got it for free. It’s so amazing to have one custom fit for me. Plus it’s pink! It helps a lot that I lost 150 lbs down from 300 lbs. I don’t know how it would’ve worked at my heaviest weight
People are so cruel. I have an invisible illness and many of my friends have invisible illnesses. People will harass me for being seemingly healthy and skinny and using a handicap pass or wheelchair service at the airport.
He has a good support system (drugs) there. He is still on drugs, which is why he doesn't want to leave. Washington and Oregon were two states that I visited where people were doing drugs in public. Drug use and homelessness is horrible there. I think this is the reason why he wants to stay. He will be forced to stay clean in Houston. This is just what I think.
It wouldn't surprise me a bit if Charles's caregiver brother had been sabotaging Charles's weight loss. Taking care of Charles is his easy job paycheck. And that's sad to do a person that way.😢 Either way, Charles's brother is going to lose that easy paycheck, if Charles loses the weight & doesn't need his brother to take care of him anymore or doesn't lose the weight and Charles dies...
To be fair I've been a caregiver too and they are not allowed to restrict or make any decisions for the the clients. Though you CAN talk to them or make suggestions. I'm kinda surprised that she didn't blink an eye 👀 when he asked for that ridiculous breakfast
Yes, same here! Unless there is a specific plan in place for food, you can't stop someone with sound mind of making their own decisions about diet. It could be seen as abusive and diminishing their rights.
I'm a home health aide and that's the only thing about Sean that makes me mad. How does he and others not see it's NOT our job (in fact we'd be fired or possibly jailed) if we told the person paying us they can't have food in their own kitchen!! Are they stupid
@@Cloudy_Berry79or its seen as abusive if you DO give them what they want. It's not fair how much blame gets put on the people who are just trying to be loving. It's the reason that a lot of people don't help out, because you end up getting criticized.

As someone who worked in a rehab, a lot of the people who come in are really just replacing one addiction with another. Food is the only thing a lot of the people in rehab look forward to, so it becomes a huge staple for them. Many would take their helping of food plus one or two more, and most of their vices were the desserts and/or junk food or fruit juices. A number of people would lie just to get more food or special/different food (like sodas or graham crackers).

And they weren’t quite ‘mocking’ him. Rather being observational, more so. No. No one should ‘mock’ or joke about someone’s appearance. But on the other hand, ‘there’s a truth in every joke.’ That’s what makes comedian’s and jokes ‘funny’ and make us laugh. We all can relate to it in some way, shape or form. ( no pun intended). I went from being disgusted by Charles rudeness to rooting for him to thinking he had this back to hating him for wasting Dr. Now's time. His brother got on my nerves big time with his hoodie in 80 degree weather and enabling him.
Yup! It could be an impact of flying. Flying internally puts the body at 7,000 ft. At 7,000 ft (outside a plane) a body that’s use to being under 3500 ft has to work 30% harder to get the same amount of oxygen it’s use too - It’s why our (USA) largest Olympic training center is in Colorado Springs! Air in a plane has a higher oxygen level, but it doesn’t equal out quite the same way anatomically. Also, the gravity change is harder on the cardiovascular system. A person his size is more prone to not just blood clots but strokes! So, once he’s off the plane it likely feels internally to him that he survived a hard work out. On top of that go to and from the airport excretion.
I haven’t finished the episode, but his brother seems like a really sweet, good dude. I don’t get why there’s so much shade here about him being his brother’s caregiver.
@theneedyelf8867 In most states, they can earn MORE than a licensed CNA earns working in a skilled care facility: a job that is A LOT harder than most in-home care jobs. Furthermore, many in-home care providers receive ZERO TRAINING so are LESS QUALIFIED/LESS SKILLED than a CNA is. Lastly, many in-home care providers are paid IN CASH unless they are paid by Social Security, thereby not reporting their earnings to the government. My sister is a classic example of how many in-home care providers cheat the system. Like Charles, my sister deliberately allowed herself to become morbidly obese, in order to receive Disability. HOWEVER, for many years she also made a second income working as an unlicensed in-home care provider and always made sure she got paid in cash. "Double-dippers" like my sister are all too common and a major reason why our taxes are so damn high!

I think it was pretty easy to tell.. by the brothers look 👀 he gave about ‘moving to Houston’… that “their family” meant either some kind of gang affiliation or they had some sort of side shtick selling those painkillers that guy was always high on.. that one or both didn’t want to lose their ‘contacts / clientele.’ Idk that’s just my impression 🤷🏼♀️ They were both shady af. And yes.. in Washington the benefits would be a ton more $$$ than Texas. Probably the combo.
Charles was so disrespectful and a liar - he was not sober like he claimed. He was slurring his words and it's obvious from the timeline that there was a delay in filming. The brother doesn't look sober either.
I watched this episode live and it said Charles was 31. He also said the twins were born when he was in high school. Whether he is 29 or 31, those twins are early twenties and somebody is lying about their age.
Yes, reddit was talking about this. The intro said 29, Dr. Now said 31 and Charles said his siblings were conceived when he was a freshman. PLOT HOLES!
So as a former drug addict myself... i think charles and his brother are still doing meth thats why charles keeps zonking out that is def a no sleep cause of drugs sleepiness if i have ever seen it
But could he be that fat on meth? I've never known an obese meth addict. . . although tbf I haven't known any addicts personally since I was a teenager on the streets, so maybe it's not unusual?
As a former meth addict, it does look like he's "on the nod". But looks more like heroin. Ive done that too, you can be high as a kite and still make conversation, but "nod off" as well.
I am a former herion addict and that is definitely 100% not meth. I have noticed these obese people get prescribed pain medicine (do they still prescribe that to fat people?) Could possibly be that. As for the brother he is definitely a little off. The brother is on some sort of something and with it being Washington I wouldn’t be surprised if it was fentanyl. Plus he is keeps that hoodie on constantly which is what peaked my curiosity.
@@zxyatiywariii8 Eh, I have seen some fatter people. People that I have looked at and thought “how are you that fat” but to be 600lbs is a little unusual. I’ve known a lot of people that could eat regularly on meth but not like that. Also, he is not using meth.
@@zxyatiywariii8you can be fat on meth. It depends on what form of fucked up your relationship to food is. It’s gotta do something to your brain that not even meth can, which I guess is uncommon at least in the kind of people drawn to meth in the first place.

Theres no damn way i could walk like that id get dizzy as hell an he looks like he abuses his pain meds at times i watched him nodding off while he’s talking
I literally do not think that they had any plans on moving to Texas to begin with. I think they thought that they could get a little money for him being on the show, and if they get surgery out of it, that's awesome, but that's about it. Then for him to video call with doctor now and be like oh make an exception since I've done so well. It's like you haven't done well. You've fought the process the whole entire time. You did things you shouldn't have done. You continue to not lose weight, which is obvious you had one good weight loss for a couple of months, and that's about it. From the looks of it it doesn't look like you've lost any more weight and if you did you would have went and got weighed in at the clinic and prove to the doctor that you continue to lose weight and do good.
And if he lost weight once he knew what he had to do, just didn't want to do it. No one, no doctor owes you your life. I always hated the supposedly Chinese proverb that if you saved someone's life, you are responsible for them the rest of your life. Why? I have to care for myself, my family (even if they don't deserve it because I am all they have.) I don't have to care about you unless you are a neglected or harmed animal who has no one else.
But he was grossly obese long before he started using drugs. And he always lived in Washington didnt he? Why is he telling Dr. Now that "all my problems started when I had this big move & had to relocate to a new state and I started using drugs".
His mother had moved to California when he was a child without his dad’s permission. After he graduated school he got arrested for drugs and that is when he went back to Washington.
Hi, Sean. This is my first time watching Charles and I am really sure that if people watched your channel and heard about the actual suffering that someone like Charles go thru, there would be much more acceptance of this weight as a disease. I am 170 lbs and 70 years old, BMI 30, 5.5 and I am considered obese by the medical community and I have been following Dr Now's diet religiously. No one criticizes me, 2nd hubby is 170 lbs himself, and we are happily married non-enablers. My boys are darling sons and once they found out Dad dumped me because I was 200 lbs after a barely survivable childbirth with youngest son, they always have conversations with wives and sweetie that they would never do that. Your channel has changed my life, Sean, and I understand what it is like to be 900 to 500 lbs for people. I SO hope Charles succeeds!

Omg you’re right!! That’s Patron! You have a keen eye. That makes Charles somewhat of a rarity on this show too. I noticed that essentially none of the other contestants we’ve seen have had an issue with alcohol. You rarely see super obese drinkers in general. Considering they have addictive personalities, that seems strange. But consider the fact the worst fear of there’s is falling, and alcohol is expensive and they’d rather opt to get the additional food, it makes some sense.
I think he is older than what he says he is. Didn’t he say the twins were born when he was 16? So if he is 29 or 30, then the twins would only be 13 or 14. Math ain’t mathing.
This guy is in for a shock. He lives in Washington state that has a lot more benefits than the state of Texas. Texas doesn't give people who are disabled the same programs that there is in Washington. Texas housing sucks, I have lived in the state and have friends who are on housing. They get a very tiny place to live. Washington you can choose where you want to live. As far as food, Washington gives $200+ Texas maybe $60 if you're lucky. I don't think that this guy will stick with the diet. It's sad as he's the same size as my grandmother was. And yes Sean they do float very well. She ended up getting over 100 lbs cut off after she got stuck in the tub. It took several hours for the fire men to cut her out. She was very embarrassed. I heard that she lost more weight, sadly I didn't get to see her.
It’s hilarious the dog/owner size ratio. Could be an interesting study! I’m 120 pounds and my Great Pyrenees outweighs me by about 30 pounds. My 500 pound neighbor has a chihuahua 😂😂😂😂. I pray he changes his mind and takes Dr. Now up on this opportunity. He knew going into the show how this works……. It’s a bit confusing 🫤. So many people would love the opportunity that was offered to Charles.
I'm just SO glad whenever obese people don't have obese pets too, too many people feed their dogs as badly as they feed themselves. But yeah good point about the weird ratio sometimes. . . I'm small but if I had more space for a large dog to run, I'd love to adopt a Scottish Wolfhound 😂
im about 260 and I have a Great Dane, a scruffy benji type mix, a cattle dog, a pitbull cross and a long haired chihuahua. (rescues) so I don't know what that says about this owner to dog size ratio. lol

A raspy gravelly sounding voice can also be a strong indicator of a heart condition.

Congratulations on your weight loss 🎉
I have MS and was in a wheelchair more than once. I'm not even heavy and was hurting from sitting in one spot

As someone who worked in a rehab, a lot of the people who come in are really just replacing one addiction with another. @@zxyatiywariii8, it is possible. I wore a sweatshirt while in the Gobi Desert in AUGUST during the daytime. The human body can be very weird.
In the hotel he's either on sedating meds or his oxygen is low because he's falling asleep every second
In most states, they can earn MORE than a licensed CNA earns working in a skilled care
facility: a job that is A LOT harder than most in-home care jobs. Furthermore, many in-home
care providers receive ZERO TRAINING so are LESS QUALIFIED/LESS SKILLED than a CNA
is.
I struggled nonstop there and when the rent went up housing refused to pay the difference which increased the amount I was to pay and I couldn't afford the $300 increase so we became homeless and lived in my car. I hate Texas
I think it was pretty easy to tell.. by the brothers look 👀 he gave about ‘moving to Houston’… that “their family” meant either some kind of gang affiliation or they had some sort of side shtick selling those painkillers that guy was always high on.. that one or both didn’t want to lose their ‘contacts / clientele.’
Idk that’s just my impression 🤷🏼♀️ They were both shady af.
(Usually someone uses the SAME laptop computer. I noticed the younger brother would hand him different ones.. hmm 🤔.. gee.. nope.. nothin shady going on here!)
And yes.. in Washington the benefits would be a ton more $$$ than Texas. Probably the combo.
He’s got the littlest dinosaur arms.
I get the impression Charlie and his brother were still using.
Same, and i base my suspicion on his brothers fuckin beanie and goatee 😅😂😂
His brother is such a sweetie, very supportive. You can tell that he really loves and looks up to his older brother.
Oh wake up he's milking the system for all it's worth .. A sweetie ? Spare us .
I’m truly going to hell for laughing at “does his tattoo say Twizzlers?”. 😂
Yay! Sean-time & Friday! 🎉 Sean & y'all, I hope your day is great!!!😁
Hey hope you have a great day. 😊
And you ❤
Just woke up in Australia, it's 6:30 on Saturday and i get to wake up with Sean and the SOS gang! Great start to the day 🙂
Yo Sean I have 2 serious questions;
1. Ru a sound cloud rapper?
2. Stop lying. What’s your handle?
How can I become a member?
Charlie's sister is almost as big as he is!
Sheryl here. Have a great day. I watch these to get me going and keep me on my diet. I've actually lost a bit since watching your channel. ❤
At only 5', he'd be eye to eye with Dr. Paradise!
PLOT HOLES!
He looks very aged
"Hefty Happy feet" killed me 😂😂
Yes!! It was so accurate and once I saw it, I couldn’t unsee it! 😂
This is by far my favorite UA-cam channel. You are real and you have an awesome personality. You're funny without even trying. I have watched every video.
Theres no damn way i could walk like that id get dizzy as hell an he looks like he abuses his pain meds at times i watched him nodding off while he’s talking
he is high as a kite!!!
Sean talking Chippendales, now his DMs will be even more flooded 😂
@@karilnowak7962 I love your last sentence and I agree with you entirely.
@@CastledarkDweller27 Thanks.
But he was grossly obese long before he started using drugs. And he always lived in Washington didnt he?
Why is he telling Dr. Now that "all my problems started when I had this big move & had to relocate to a new state and I started using drugs".
That's probably how he sees it.
It’s looking like he’s definitely not clean . X was a raging addict . This dude has all the classic traits . Sorry- seen them all too many times . I am rooting for you ! Be well, be strong , god bless 🕊️
Im convinced he's drunk that whole episode. He had a booze bottle on the floor next to his bed & he was barely awake & slurring the whole time.
Can you time stamp this? I figured he was just stoned.
@@EmilyElizabethxox49:08 and 51:25 the glass bottle on the nightstand above Sean's mic. Its blurred but it's definitely liquor. I noticed it (maybe the same bottle) on the floor when I watched the episode on TV but it would be where Sean is on the screen here so I'm not sure that timestamp
It's the scientific meth-od math!
Yeah he’s looking bad for 29!
I think he meant 39

Danny DeVito is a treasure!
Dude holy sh!t that’s EXACTLY what I was thinking 💀💀💀
@@sweariefaerie9621he is. That doesn’t make OPs statement any less true though lol
Not only that, but they offer transportation to doctors, even if the patient requires a wheelchair.
The way he swings from side to side, he is going to take a wall out if he ain’t careful
It’s hilarious the dog/owner size ratio. Could be an interesting study! I’m 120 pounds and my Great Pyrenees outweighs me by about 30 pounds. My 500 pound neighbor has a chihuahua 😂😂😂😂. What is UP with this?!
This was fun, Sean. Love your humor! And GOOD JOB, CHARLES! Let’s goooooooo 🎉🎉
Edit! Oh so sad that Charles didn’t make the commitment necessary.
Big dogs need to be exercised, they know they can't do that for them
im about 260 and I have a Great Dane, a scruffy benji type mix, a cattle dog, a pitbull cross and a long haired chihuahua. (rescues) so I don't know what that says about this owner to dog size ratio. lol
"That's a lot of butt" oh my goodness stoooppp 😂
I've always loved this show but I enjoy it even more watching you commenting on it lmao
lol it was right? My man was cheeked up
It's like watching with a good friend or family
I cant watch my 600lb life without Sean now. I tried, but i kept waiting for a Sean joke that never came or was thinking Sean wouldve nailed a comment right there! And every time i would see Dr Now i would say out loud 'Fat Boy Grim Reaper!'! 😂

I bet one reason they didn't move to Houston was that they could lose the brother's caretaker money or have to reapply for it.
But how did other people manage the move financially?
The Hercules thing made me think of The Nutty Professor with Eddie Murphy. All you had to do was clap your hands. Lol
