    The fact that right off the bat he was like, "I'm not enabled. Yes my family gives me food, but I chose to eat it. That's my fault, not theirs," made me think he was going to succeed. No bullshitting, no taking the easy excuse and blaming everyone else. Lucas is a good dude, I know he's gonna go far.

      And he wasn't going to "try." When I lost a lot of weight, I couldn't bear it, not one more minute. I lost what I needed to lose, but it took almost 2 years. Interesting. . . We don't know the nuances of what really went down. I wondered why he didn't just complete his degree after all this time. But he told Dr. Now he didn't have the money to go to school, so I'm betting he probably ran out of money while at university. I've known people who have maxed out their student loans before before completion. And I worked in the FA office for work study... so I've seen plenty of accounts to do this. Factor in the fact that most morbidly obese only need a semblance of a reason to avoid difficult things. Also factor in his depression. His dad was probably coaxing him to drop to avoid more financial problems, and pick up a trade as a solution. I have an adhd step son in what is basically a high school completion/ trade program. He'll swear up and down he's close to meeting goals until you actually look at his metrics lol. Dad seemed pretty harmless, and actually proud of his son's high school accomplishments. I say give them both a break. They're an imperfect family like the rest of us.

    • @thomson872

      I was wondering if anyone else would comment on this. I think Dad was jealous that his son would have a college degree when he didn't. His parents seem immature, negligent, and self-centered. The constant breaking up and getting back together with no regard for how this behavior affects the children is a prime example. That's the kind of behavior you expect from teenagers, not adults with children.

    I worked at a pizza place from 14 yrs old until I was 17. The owner was really nice to us, but he never paid taxes on the business. Every day, we would make at least one or two "Oops! pizzas" (usually with extra everything and extra cheese). We had to wait 5 minutes and if nobody ordered that exact one, it was ours. I was paid cash every week with no taxes taken out since he didn't pay them. My husband and I drove by one morning on the way to Six Flags, and by the time we came home, Uncle Sam had come by and cleaned the place out! They took the ovens, the food, the signage, tables, everything. I'm assuming they took Jerry too, as we never heard from him again. I did love working there though. It was great high school job, and we all took home free pizza every night! My brother worked at a pizza place too at the time, and we would each make the same kind and compare whose was better! The family loved it too! (I usually won)

    Speaking as to how your mental state affects your physical state: my depression has stopped me from working out for the longest time and therefore helped me gain 30 pounds over the past 4 minths. I JUST started exercising last week because i decided in my head to do it. Its like a switch flipped on. As in my depression lifted just enough for me to feel good enough to want to exercise and deem it necessary for my health. I always knew it was necessary for good health over those 4 months my depression was in high gear, but depression being what it is, and being so deep i could barely function, i just didn't have enough energy to do it. And, like i said, it has lifted enough that i have enough energy to actually get out of bed snd exercise. My mental state directly affects my physical, short story long 😂😂

I had been going through a mental health recovery (I was in the hospital for a week, was a suicide risk, heavily medicated, just left an abusive partner hence the break down)..I was still in treatment and therapy 2x a week when i started playing. A friend got me into an online game and I joined his group. They all kinda knew my history at least a bit. I was almost always online, even at like 2 am (insomnia). well one day i had 3 doctor appointments and a few other things so I didn't log in that day. around 3pm my friend calls me, 'the group hasn't seen you is everything ok? they're worried".

    I got a little too confident in myself and tried on a size medium athletic joggers last night.

How much weight has he lost did he have his skin surgery did he find love is he still close with his niece and nephew so many questions. I've never really cared about seeing an update on any of the other guys on the show but this one I definitely would love to know how he's doing

  • @emeryltekutsu4357

    I think the awesome thing about him is that he did it all himself. Yes, maybe he didn't lose as fast as he could, but he continuously lost even though he was at home doing it on his own. A lot of people lose in the hospital and then just start gaining as soon as they go home.
    It's tough to make big life changes like that, so good for him!

    Everyone in America has such big houses and such big outdoor spaces yet they never walk or go for a jog. You have a compound surely there’s no space to do like 200000 steps a day

      Not everyone. . . I wish I lived on a compound! Either land in Texas is much more affordable, or else they're wealthy. If I had that much land to run around on, exercise would be so much more enjoyable! Like, how can you have so much space and not being enjoying it?

    • @mikoto7693
      @mikoto7693 5 місяців тому

      Exactly. I don’t need a place with a garden because I’d never use it. One of the things that I enjoy most about walking is that I can change up the routes and see different things. I’d get bored on the same route all the time.

    I'm only 40 minutes into the video but I really like Lucas. He's got a good attitude and I like his approach to the weight loss program, like trying to incorporate some of his exercise into his homeschooling duties with the kids. I really hope he succeeds at this.
