Here's a MAP showing all the retro gaming stores in the area : goo.gl/maps/enQeGCAc1cmU5XeK7 - If I missed one, let me know and I'll add it. Thanks for watching!
haha remember when seattle was a great city, now its just trash and riots haha xD and sjw with blue hair xD time to move out from these crazy leftie areas. haha.
I need to do the same type of video for your side of the state. That would be pretty fun. Maybe stay a day or two in Lake Chelan, my old stomping grounds too.
I'm from Malaysia. Hopefully, once I'm fully vaccinated, I get to go to Seattle next year. Not only for the games, but for Seattle's rich alternative rock history, plus it's legendary coffee.
It is so surreal seeing just how many retro gaming stores there are here in our home state. I will definitely be taking some time to check some of these places out!
My first trip to Seattle was in 2015 as a solo trip for basically hiking, craft beer, vinyl, cds and games. Loved Al's, Zions Gate, Sonic Boom, silver platters, Pink Gorilla and everyday music. What a great city for exploring. Can't wait to go back one day....Cheers from Tampa, Florida.
I'm from Spokane, and in all honesty, these retro stores are the only reason I ever go to Seattle. We have NOTHING here in Spokane. Thank you for the video!
I have been struggling last year with myself and had a lot of free time being home from work to recover. I always kind of stayed a gamer but there were periods… Found you on UA-cam and you reignited my passion for gaming like I was a teenager again. Helped me a lot to find my mojo again. Thanks for your videos and hope to see many more to come . Greetings from the Netherlands
Recently got into your channel after un-earthing my original PS2 from 2000 and started a collection of games again - love your channel and I’m learning a lot about other consoles and games I’ve never heard about 🔥 Rock on!
Wow. Thanks for showing the Seattle video game stores. If I get to visit or tour there, I will look at these stores. I put it on my touring destination places.
Your the man metal Jesus! My love for video games came back pretty much because of your early videos. I’m not a massive collector but I really appreciate retro games and consoles.
Everytime you talk about Seattle. I cry. Tears of joy. You have definitely made it one of my MUST visit locations. Hopefully my fiancee and I can come up with the money to go up there for a few days.
Great video! I'm originally from Tacoma, but have lived in LA the past decade -- so all these spots are new to me. We got some cool retro game stores out here like Game Dude, but it feels like there's far less in comparison to the Seattle-area. I'm planning on checking out the Pink Gorilla locations next time I visit family, and I'll certainly add these recommendations to that future excursion. Thanks! 👍🏿
Awesome, gonna check some of these out that I didn't know about. Love retro gaming! There are 2 cool ones in downtown Renton too(I saw one on the map you made)! One is next door to the retro arcade.
lol man i just laughing about if you have car line ...... regional North Queensland Australia if you dont own a car you are screwed 1300 kilometres to the nearest retro gaming shop
Y'all are so blessed with retro game stores in the Seattle area. The retro game stores in and near San Francisco had mostly vanished due to high rents ... but thankfully a few have started popping up recently. There's maybe just ... 6 or so ... within an hour radius of San Francisco. Sadly! And they're only really accessible by car, which is a bummer because SF is so wonderfully public transit heavy that many folks don't even own cars if they live in the city proper ... convenient for getting around SF, but not leaving it ...
Nearly 20 yrs ago when I lived in Seattle, my roommates and I used to go to Al's after a night on the Ave and buy random metal cassettes to play on the boombox when we got home. I remember one time we picked up a Grim Reaper tape, and were rocking out to See You in Hell the rest of the night. Love your channel, and will def check out some of these shops next time I'm up that way.
Almost skipped over this video thought it looked uninteresting. Man, you never disappoint! I skipped over the “pick-up” videos for years too and then on a whim watched one and was hooked. I must’ve spent an afternoon binge watching them all! Anyway, I need to get my sticky buns up to Seattle! 👍 Video!
Thank you for mentioning Al’s Music. When I last visited Seattle, I accidentally discovered Al’s after visiting Pink Gorilla in the area. The workers were cool with me and it was awesome to learn one of them is from South San Francisco where I’m from. I visited both Pink Gorilla Games stores. Both were great but especially liked the two workers at the International District because they were very friendly and let me see their recent PS2 trade-ins they got. I was PS2 hunting at the time. Very satisfied with all three stores and would gladly visit again.
Amazing video and amazing recommendations! Even though I live in Toronto, Seattle is definitely on my bucket list to visit! Grunge scene '90 's was the best and still my favorite! My childhood idol is buried there Bruce Lee and Brendon Lee! And now since I have start watching Jason's chanel, love and passion for video games is another reason to visit some stores! Hopefully next year...
I'd love to see more videos like this from you, even if it's not entirely game related. I've always wanted to visit Seattle and I'm hoping to very soon after I beat cancer!
Fantastic video, as someone who lives in PAL land but collects imported NTSC games I would be in heaven visiting somewhere like this! Vacation to Seattle in the future me thinks!
When the border opens...and crossing it is easy...Im going to make a point to take a weekend and drive on down from Vancouver BC and hit all these places. Love retro stuff!
Definitely want to go to Seattle and check out all these places! If I'm ever heading up there someday, I'll be sure to use this video as a reference point!
Grew up in Seattle area, and its so cool to see all these places I know! Didnt know our area was known for its retro game stores, or how lucky I am to be near them all!
I grew up in the Tacoma, Seattle area in the late 80s and early to mid 90s. I miss the Pacific Northwest. A lot has changed since I left. Gonna plan a trip!
Another castle is awesome I use too go there all the time when I lived in Washington. Love the classic arcade cabinets and the bar/arcade next to it was also another place I liked hanging out and playing pinball and NBA jam.
So many memories! I came to Seattle 3 years ago and my friend who maintains the pinball machines for Another Castle drove me around to each location and lots of these locations too. My poor wallet hurt that day but had such good fun. Even bumped in to Kelsey and Cody at Pink Gorilla.
Awesome video man… love your travel videos. They really capture the look and feel of the places you go nicely. Makes we really wanna go over and visit…haha.
My wife and I recently visited Seattle and based on your video went to the International district, ate at Uwajimaya and stopped at the Pink Gorilla and had a great time - so thanks for that. We also discovered there is too much to see in Seattle so we’re looking forward to our next trip…
Man, i love that kind of videos where you take us on a ride through certain (gamestore)-areas. Here in germany Retro Stores or just „normal“ Gamestores are so hard to find. You are lucky if the big cities had even a single one. The most stuff is stocked on ebay. 😁 Many Greetings from germany Take care 👊🏼
Thank you for finally giving Al’s some love! I live two blocks away and go there all the time for records, video games, and art house/b-movies. Also I know you collect vinyl. Have you been to Neptune Music (right below the Neptune Theater)? It’s like half a block from Pink Gorilla and it’s rad.
going to these stores is like going to Disneyland for me lol. i live in the island across the water from the city and absolutely love showing my friends these stores. great having an experienced collector in the area!!!
I'm glad you included Big Red's Retro Games on the map. It's the closest place for me since I live across the sound from Seattle. Tragically the original owner passed away. But the store is transitioning to new ownership, as of this post. So I hope it does well enough to stick around for a long time. Otherwise, I've only been to Pink Gorilla, both locations. I have yet to see the others.
I LOVE Al's!!! I live in Federal Way and it's been my go to game spot for a while now. The location that was located right off 320th, Sadly, burned to the ground. BUT, there is a new location right off Pacific Highway. It's not quite as big, but still a fantastic spot to stop! (I may or may not be venturing over there later to snag some more Nintendo Power magazines). Good stuff MJ!!!
Wow! I'm shocked!! My very first computer on minute 4.10, thank you very much Jason, or metal Jesus, thank you so much for making me happy with an image that opened a container full of good memories!
Ah I just discovered your channel. Love your material and vibe! Next time I'll consider these spots! What a day to be a hockey fan in Seattle aye bud? Get ready to see a lot of hockey sweaters! Cheers from Canada.
