They've all already got perfectly good names! We've got The Watford DC Line, The Goblin Line, The North London Line, The East London Line, The Lea Valley Lines and the Romford to Upminster Line. The are all operated as London Overground. These names are historic and reflect where they go and would not be confusing to Londoners and tourists alike.
100%, established names which actually describe where the lines operate - I wouldn't have a clue where Weaver line goes for example, but Lea Valley makes me think immediately of NE London. Hopefully in time the lines will get renamed into something a bit more sensible like the older names.
The Mildmay Mission Hospital has somewhat changed (in physical appearance) I cannot recall if it was named after the area (Mildmay Road) but the Mildmay Mission was one of many Christian non-estabilshed churches in the victorian era , and particulary went to cover the medical needs at an affordable cost of a poor part of east london, being pre - NHS. I recall people associated with it speaking at the Mission Hall I attended in the late 1960s in SW London when we had exchanges of speakers etc amongst a number of the evangelical allianced (TES) mission halls, mainly around London.
I think the Romford-Upmister line should be called the Havering line. If the point was to celebrate the development and community of Havering why not name the line after the borough? Especially since the line is completely in Havering.
Love Hatch End Station, really quite nice, I'm not a fan of some of the names chosen, Windrush send Weaver do sound okay being honest but it always the North London Line, Watford DC and GOBLIN... also for out of context I can say I going to ride the Lionesses 😂
I do like the London Overground Class 378s. These were built as 3-Car then extended & upgraded to 4-Car. And then again to 5-Car which I think that Bombardier (now Alstom) could have built more Class 378s (both 4-Car and 5-Car). But the Class 710 Aventras were manufactured and now being introduced on the London Overground network for the Lea Valley Lines, Romford-Upminster line. And on the Gospel Oak-Barking line and Euston-Watford Junction line.
No, they are stupid names. North London Line would be confusing for tourists and non-English speakers and Goblin is ridiculous and only excites transport nerds.
The Weaver Line should be at least two separate lines - Chingford should be a separate line, and you can argue either way about whether Enfield Town should be a separate line or a branch of the line that goes to Chushunt.
naa they should of kept the old names i will only call them north london line GOBLIN line East london line Lea valley line and romford to upminister line and Watford DC line thats their true names and always will be
I think it’s bit stupid renaming all 6 London Overground lines. Why not keep as they currently are so that it doesn’t confuse people who do use the London Overground.
Hatch End looks like a great station to film trains i need to check it out one day & its great that TFL are renaming the Overground lines as it would help get round easier but im unsure about the names id personly have the lines like Goblin Watford East London Emonson park Lea Valley ect brilliant video
On the subject of re-naming, Hatch End Station was originally built (1842) as Pinner Station, but became Hatch End in 1997 after the Metropolitan Railway built it's own station in the middle of Pinner village. The name Hatch End refers to it being an entrance to the "Pinner Park" estate (farm). Perversely, the original Hatch End is actually adjacent to the next station, Headstone Lane.
8:55, ah I was wrong 😂. I thought that they won that game at another stadium. I even put in my video about the new overground names that they hadn’t played a prominent game at Wembley. 🤦🏻♂️ oops
I think Windrush, Mildmay and Weaver sound like proper line names and are quite good to be honest. Liberty sounds too American, Lioness is too much of a tongue twister and Suffragette just doesn't sound right, and there is some dodgy history behind the movement. People who get genuinley upset about something as silly as this are frankly pathetic
The lefts solution to 'owning' the right, is to basically copy them when it comes to naming railway lines (pointless naming). You know what would have actually owned the right? Making it so commuters actually knew where they were going. Because people would like that and vote for more things like that.
Mate, all of the lines besides the Central and Victoria lines don't have names that tell you where they go, stop politicising the issue. The new names are alright and it seems to only be people in their 40's and 50's who get upset that TfL has acknowledged that black people and women exist.
I don’t think there is any need to name the lines on the overground as the thinking in the minds of TFL has now gone bonkers and I think they need some mental health treatment.
Daniel saying about knocking his hat on the grab rails on the 710s and I nearly did the same thing with my headphones today on a District Line S7 Stock
I have to argue that the "Marshall Line" would be the wrong direction to go- a name like that would just amount to pandering to transport nerds on UA-cam

I live in Walthamstow and have honestly never referred to my local London Overground line as the Lea Valley line.
Personally, I've come to the conclusion that there's no escaping the politicisation of the railways
There's no escaping the privatisation of it, for sure.
And naming three lines after a monarch isn't political? Grow up.

I personally think they should've kept the liberty line's name as "The Push and Pull"
They don`t want `Funny names `
All three finally together, and perfect for the showcase of the Overground Lines rebranding.
I knew a family called Weaver (they were local builders at one time) who lived in Barking
The Windrush docked at Tilbury, outside of London , and of course on the London, Tilbury and Southend Railway
im pissed they didn't call them by how @sim0ntrains sad, north london lines, goblin etc

@@mildlydispleased3221 which tourist knows what a mildmay hospital is
“choo, choo choo”
How about the Art line because London Fields is on the line
Where the Weaver Line?
The Weaver Line should be at least two separate lines - Chingford should be a separate line, and you can argue either way about whether Enfield Town should be a separate line or a branch of the line that goes to Chushunt.
Could say the same for the Clapham Junction or West Croydon branch of the Windrush Line.
naa they should of kept the old names i will only call them north london line GOBLIN line East london line Lea valley line and romford to upminister line and Watford DC line thats their true names and always will be
Could you please do C2C fleet review

Great video, where did you three meet and do you have a official twitter thingy?

In defence of the liberty line The havering liberty is quite an interesting thing

Average bald old man. The Overground desperately needed splitting.
