    • @getitdonehomerepair

      No need to buy the stud finder. If you cut off the bottom you will just need to install the bottom piece of wood.

    • @getitdonehomerepair

    1.) Do you "score" the backside too?....seems you only put a pre-cut score line on the top side.
    2.) Typically....how far "up" can you cut on this style door and still retain the bottom edge?

    • @robertm1692
      @robertm1692 2 роки тому

      The "solid" part of that door looked to be about an inch thick.

    • @chrisburns5691

      circ saw cuts with "good side" down, will tear out through the side facing up, so not necessary to score the bottom.

  • @ussubmarineveteranscharita4501
    @ussubmarineveteranscharita4501 2 роки тому

    I may be overthinking this. When you score the door before cutting it, you use a knife blade, which is very thin. However, the kerf from a skill saw is much wider than that score from the knife. This seems as though the knife scoring is unnecessary or should I be cutting with the power saw with the kerf lined up directly over the knife score or adjacent to it?

    • @getitdonehomerepair
      @getitdonehomerepair  2 роки тому

      By using the knife it will minimize the splintering of the cut area. Thanks for watching.

    • @johnb2005

      Score with knife then just keep the top of your circular saw blade on the score line .

    Only thing I suggest on this video everything looks good but instead of wasting 5 to 10 minutes shaving off the little pieces of cardboard on that bottom strip you can simply just cut one Edge on an angle with a razor blade super simple and then tap it in all at the same time and you will not need glue you will not need to sand it and it's finished
