Looks like a flat grey unfinished cement hotel. The house was charming before they ruined it.
Hi all, 7 bathrooms in a 5 bedroom house is crazy even in Texas. If you have the space usually two boys or girls in a joining bedrooms will share a bathroom with two vanities. Then the parents get a bathroom. The house has a powder room for guests and if possible a there is an bedroom and bath for guests. This is possible if you have the land, which lets face we have lots off, and the money. Otherwise 3 bedrooms and 2 and 1/2 baths are the rule.
I think that woman with the 7 bathrooms wants to secretly open a Bed & Breakfast....
I don't understand why you would seek an experts advice like Sarah and then ignore it
haha, there was one episode where a woman who planned to sell her property insisted on installing a purple kitchen and Sarah advised against it making the woman furious. The estate agents valuing the property agreed with Sarah. It was hilarious, but super stupid!
Did Sarah use a Gin and tonic joke on a muslim couple? lol

I REALLY DON'T UNDERSTAND why people don't stay within their budget. It's sooooo frustrating to see this occur time and time again.
Unfortunately people get carried away quite often because they think it's a 1 time upgrade so go for it. At other times, builds cost more because problems often happen. Small issues or even big ones add up.
@@UnseenSpirit I totally get costs increasing because of unforseen issues. I've no problem with that because it occurs with most renovations. Just irks me when they just HAVE to have this or that "luxury" item, and say "oh well" to their original budget. Like, what's even the point of having one if you aren't even willing to stick within it? (Minus construction issues.)
@@GirlSproket true. People get carried away. I did it when I've looked for a TV. I have a budget then I read reviews and this one has that etc... Oh well lol.

Don't like either of these, 7 bathrooms for 5 bedrooms is insane and totally unnecessary. Think of all the wasted planetary resources for all those bathrooms that will hardly ever get used!
7 bathrooms is a massive waste of space and money. With the gym... are they building a hotel? Where's the jacuzzi?
I have a Jacuzzi, & my house isn't that big. As for the idea of building "OUT" is much more expensive than, building "UP."
Taking down interior walls is also VERY DANGEROUS, as you may by tampering with Support Walls. Even experts can sometime get it wrong, I've dealt with that, and as I warned him that I thought he was wrong about it, he had to suck-up the extra cost of fixing it. He then quit and I finished it myself. It turned out perfect!
Another issue I have with these builds is, WHY DO PEOPLE INSIST ON COVERING BRICK? It's easier to maintain, & makes a house look much more Colonial..
@@pjcampbell4143 Brick isn't as fashionable since the early 2000s. Building out is more expensive in the UK because land is a premium and foundations cost a lot. UK homes need substantial foundations. I'm also curious why anyone in the UK would want their home to look more colonial?
I bet the 7 bathroom woman just goes around talking about her 7 bathrooms to whoever she meets
And her gym, which she will have no time or energy to use after she finishes cleaning 7 bathrooms.

@@rocket7697 I can tell you that Americans do not either, at one point, us 8 boys shared one small bath. Sounds crazy now, but we didn't know any better.

Seven bathrooms? Louise is nuts. Does everyone have bladder control issues? Have fun cleaning those all the time. "Sarah has her opinion". Yes, and it might be a little more learned than that of people with zero experience who want to rip out load-bearing walls.

I've seen a floor plan that's 5 bedrooms but 4 of the bedrooms have 2 Jack and Jill bathrooms, which I think is alot better than having en suite in each bedroom. Idk if she would move her home gym from where she wants to put it?
The gray house doesn’t even look good at all lmao... the best looking thing is the bathrooms. Quite ironic since 7 is just bonkers to begin with.
Poor lady is really obsessed with trying to show everyone she can keep up with the Jones’s to the ridiculous extent of 7 bathrooms

I just hope that their builds are not like a lot of HGTV shows where they build it to look good on tv but isn’t livable.

That render colour is not good for resale value and as you say it does not look , and unfinished.
Frankly I wouldn't buy any of these properties. The house owners and their ideas are nuts!
What messy messy contractors! My husband is a contractor, never ever does he allow such a mess to accumulate.

Nothing's really changed. My parents added an extension onto their house back in 1967 because moving would've been too expensive. It almost doubled the floor area and made it a 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom home with a family room.
5 bathrooms I could get for 5 bedrooms but 7 no. And the dining table and chairs are too close to the sofas in the seating area. Could of been a larger room but then she wouldn't have the extra money for the bathrooms. The other couple just 🤦
The house we just bought has the laundry room upstairs with the bedrooms. I thought I'd hate it, but it's nice to not have to lug laundry baskets of clothes up and down the stairs. It's true--the dirty clothing, sheets, and towels are upstairs. On the main floor there's only dishtowels for the kitchen and hand towels for the half bath.
Do you have a drier? I hate using driers because they destroy clothing so fast, so it doesn't appeal to me to have the laundry upstairs at all. Taking wet washing downstairs and outside to dry it seems so much worse than dry washing!

We have 3 bathrooms for 5 teenage and middle school kids and 2 adults. It works quite well. Kids get dressed in their rooms.
That 5 bedroom 7 bathroom house reminds me of Kylie Jenners second house 😂what a waste of money😂

Why does it all have to happen at once? For me the dream home is a process. So doing the process in stages becomes the most practical, and attractive option.

Agree... they didn’t intend it they just couldn’t see how to design in the placement of the loo. They had to put it on their drawings and then allow an interior architect to work it in. Loved their finished house- beautiful surfaces and finishes .
I notice she lobbies really hard to try to get her way...in *other* people's homes!! ...It's beyond sage advice.
And when she disagrees - she doesn't do so respectfully.
its great having your own bathroom but it doesn't equate if you don't have your own bedroom to accompany this. However if that fits their family/home well done. Its a good job, not my taste then or now but it looks like the home owners were ecstatic.

@@jackhawkins469 so a bathroom for every bedroom, plus two additional uncommitted bathrooms just for the off chance that more than two people from the same bedroom want to poo, or change a baby or have a shower at the exact same moment? Seems like dedicating half your house to a once in a decade event.
@@tmmtmm my neighbor has a house similar to this one but with six bathrooms/4 bed , and he's got 4 daughters and 2 sons ( all married and with children), and they usually visit for 2 months or so in a year as they all live in the same city, so am guessing the extra bathrooms do come in handy in that situation. I would guess the Australian have a similar situation.

I figured out how to increase my house's value. I'll do most of the work, not related to plumbing or electrical, myself. I'm just 73, 5 foot tall, with a bit of a limp. I can do it. (Not kidding.) The value has already gone up $45,000. The "home improvement" guys gave me estimates of $16,000 and $10,000 for a small bathroom, which meant removing an original Art Deco window and tub. The first I started laughing; the second I called later and told I hated his hideous idea. lol

Neither of these families had many children. They built the massive extensions for their guests.
If you love stuff instead of people. It's actually better to be surrounded by people who love you than by stuff you 'love.' The solution to materialistic greed is less greed, not less love. Every child brings more love to your life. I'm sure those families would rather lose a room or wait for a shower than lose a loved one. You reason like someone whose parents valued money and material things more than you. Sad.
Child: Mum and Dad, can I have some brothers and sisters to grow up with and love all my life?
Parents: No. We want a nice kitchen.
Child: But I have no siblings to teach me how to compromise and get on with people and make memories with.
Parents: We'll put you in care so you'll have plenty of strangers for that.
Child: But when you die, I'll have nobody.
Parents: We will leave this house to you. It's worth 800,000 pounds. Isn't that better than surrounding you with love and laughter and memories of a joyful childhood?
Child: Ok. I'm brainwashed now. I get it. Children are an evil threat to adults' money and stuff and lifestyle. I'll take the house when you're dead, but don't expect me to bother to marry or give you grandchildren. That would just interfere with me having a better material lifestyle than you.
