Seeing how easily you met the scoring requirements throughout this run, I do wonder how possible it would be to do using the gold stake challenge mod...

Beat jokerless for the first time this week with a straight build and got no blue seals and had a lot of fun. If the challenge just started at ante 0 to give more time for runs to get off the ground it’d be such a fun way of playing

Regarding music suggestions from other video: I highly recommend Warframe's music. They explicitly allow people to use it, and don't DMCA, and it's great stuff.

Great run ! I'm wondering, would a polychrome stone card be better or did we need the holographic for the early game too much ? Especially with red seals on a steel card on top I feel like with a few plutonium it could have scaled better ? Maybe it's just overkill and holographic made it more interesting. Either way awesome run !
Polychrome would be better long term, and maybe "good enough" in the short term because you don't need that much in the early rounds and can still float by on other Hands, like we did with Straights.
I have found jokerless to be way more fun than golden needle

The red steels aren't giving you X2 mult, they're giving you X1.5 mult twice; that's X2.25.
i figure he's just rounding for brevity.
1 red steel = 2+ (2.25, i know), 2 red steel = 5. That's how I remember it for simplicity.

it's a high card build. so primarily high card but can use other types of hands as utility. the same way a straight build may use high card to dig for a straight
As far as I know its straight up impossible to beat the early rounds with just high card jokerless

Now do ONLY High Card! You'll need to skip first round for standard tag, otherwise it's unwinnable.
Standard Tags can't appear in Ante 1

@@drspectred Oops, guess you'll just need lucky cards or mult card (Bonus bad idea: Get loads of Chariots using Emperor+Fool (already very unlikely), get mult/lucky card, and face The Serpent, managing to draw all the cards you converted with your chariots after opening 2 mega. arcana packs).

This is the only thing i have left to 100% the game. Every time i try it, i get f-ed with joker related tarots, which i was hoping wouldve been removed from this by now.
Is there any reason to not take planet cards as a backup even if you dont plan to use the other hands?

i think yes but you need to buy and sell so many jokers that rerolling for like a blueprint just for it to be perishable would make it so much harder, and you'd need even more things to go right. although im sure the doc would just need to cook for a few days
There's a 30% chance to get no stickers on a joker, and the rental tag isn't really a debuff late game so yeah gold stake is possible

@tiddly5 naw its just a 4x difference which is baaaasically irrelevant. Wrt the original question, it's tougher but not crazy tougher, and ante 39 is already pretty annoying to do

So would you say playing jokerless is a good way to practice judicious use of card enhancements? I ask because I feel I underuse them most of the time, and it's probably cost me a victory more than once.
Im a little confused, does the title not insinuate that the only played hands would be high cards for this run? Maybe i missed something in the video explaining this.
I wonder if its possible to beat, with playing ONLY high card.
To achive that, you would need 2 arcana packs from skipping in the row, get from them this +4 mult (forgot a name) 1 or 2 stone card, and 1 or 2 steel cards. Then you want to draw mult card, with a stone and steel card, play mult with stone card.
After that you need a good luck with good playing card in shop.
Also, after some calculations, I can say, that beating ante 1,by playing only 1 card at the time, is theoreticly possible. You would need to +mult to 4 face cards, and get 2 steel ones, then you need to play all mult cards buffed with steel ones.
Edit. You dont really need a steel card, but without it, you would need to draw all mult cards and stone cards
Edit 2. Forgot about lucky cards... With that, you can easli do that. Also, its possible, to beat jokerless with playing only 1 card per round but it would be extremly hard. (meaby 1 card per ante even???)

He could have done this challenge using only High Cards, if he didn't want that little bit of hand money at the start

What does it mean 'with HIGH CARD'? B.U. demonstrates the rules at the beginning and the is nothing about the high card in them. At the same time he played a straight so I'm genuinely confused
edit: nvm, found answer in the comments. The title should be "with high card build"
he played the run primarily with high card, it doesn't say only high card which would be nigh impossible to get out of ante 1 with, title isn't really wrong
