I was 6 years old, and Red was by far my favorite comedian, even though I was young, I understood most of it, because his characters were mostly physical , like mimes , me and my dad would crack up at his antics, I loved Red, because you could tell he was real, a performer who loved making people laugh. At the end of every show he would say God bless, and he meant it. Thank you for letting me remember the best times if my childhood, long time ago.🙏

I usually had to go to bed earlier, but I was allowed to stay up later on nights when the Red Skeleton show was on. I was ACTUALLY only allowed to stay up till after the silent spot, but if I stayed quiet and sat still, I could usually make it till the end of the show before they noticed I was still up.

This was on my sister's 16th birthday! Our family enjoyed Red Skelton so much that it was the only school night of the week that Dad let us stay up past 9 pm. Red Skelton's show was on Tuesday nights and we got ice cream before his show was over at 9:30. When we introduced Red to our children they enjoyed him just as much as I did as a child. Fond memories, for sure!

entertained for many years. Saw him in Ottawa with my parents near the end of his career and it was
one of my life 's highlights. We all loved his skits, his characters and so many talented guess have
appeared on his show. Thanks for the laughs Red....... you shall not be forgotten.

Red Skelton is one of those shows that were honest and genuine. They should be bringing them back and letting kids today know what reality is. I miss these shows so much. 💞💞

Always love watching Red Skelton and my favorite part was when he would start laughing about his joke before he said it was. Red Skelton is a Hoosier born in Vincennes Indiana.

The other aspect about Red's humor that I humorously recall was how he and his guest stars would get laughs from their ad-libs during the skits.
I recall one time in a skit where Red was playing one of his characters, when in a scene with his guest star, he broke from character to humorously exclaim (while giggling) to his guest star: 'Where are you getting these lines from!?' That got loads of laughs from the audience. And here it is, some 55+ years later, and I can still recall it.

Taped from Studio 33 at CBS Television City in Hollywood. Mr Skelton did his show there for 17 years.
It is now known as the Bob Barker Studio Studio. Mr. Barker did The Price Is Right for 35 incredible Years.

Oh my - that dancing is absolutely painful to watch. I never liked this show as a little kid- sexist, not a person of color in sight, childish jokes, white-man dancing - its' just all wrong.

Shows how much you know, During his radio show days Red was the ONLY person on radio who hired a person of color to be a member of his cast. So take your anti white opinion and go live where there are no whites
