Laphroaig Quarter Cask - A Full Peat Heavy Hitter?

On a cold and rain day, nothing beat a good peated Islay scotch. We have on the bar today, the Laphroaig Quarter Cask Single Malt Scotch Whisky, a no age statement malt that is finished in virgin quarter casks. Laphroaig, being one of the big 3 on Islay, they have acquired quite a following of fans who love their peated offering, but does the Quarter Cask expression stand up as a full peat heavy hitter? Great advice, try the 10 and if you want to amp it up go for the Quarter Cask and if you really want to amp the Quarter Cask up try to find the Quarter Cask Cairdeas 😅 Cheers 🥃

You can collect rent?! I have a few of these, I need to get there. Love Quarter cask, really, an absolute favourite. In my area, it's less than the 10 and love the flavours. Slaps around a bit, but so much peat and oak. A beautiful match. Cheers!

Couldn’t agree more Jon. I prefer the QC over the 10. Funny how in Ontario the QC is about 10 bucks more than the 10 year old. Love the peat and all the oak as well. Thanks for the comment and enjoy the long weekend. Cheers!

I really have to stop watching your reviews at 7:00 AM... all I can bring myself to do this early in the day is pop the cork and sniff my bottle. QC was my first Laphroaig, and for the longest time it was my favourite, but it's lost position to the cask strength 10 (and Lore, but I just can't convince myself to part with the 240 bucks Lore goes for around here).
