Because of the fact the rebellion would have left konoha in no state to fight off any of the other great nations in direct combat and expect to keep all of its resources and territory.

Depends on the way they wanted to go about their coup. A coup might not have required murdering all/most other clans. Usually, a coup involves taking out key leadership. My guess is that the Uchiha's would have targeted the Hokage, the council of elders, and a few key warriors, taken prisoners from other families, etc. An all out battle would have probably been their least preferred method.

I was gonna comment what you said. I think if the scenario played out like NCHammer said then the other clans most likely wouldn't have challenged the Uchiha, especially if things went smoothly and the 9 tails was causing chaos
Not to mention the fact that they could’ve just gotten Shishui to use koto amatsukame on Hiruzen to get him to step down and name Fugaku as his successor. It’s possible they would need to assassinate Danzo first but it’s also possible that the daimyo of the land of fire would be willing to trust Hiruzen to choose the right man for the job which would result in a bloodless coup

Honestly I've always felt a nation should've attacked Konoha almost immediately after Kurama's attack. The village was vulnerable and it would've given the massacre a better reason for happening.
Not really. If an an entire Nation attacked the Leaf after Kurama's rampage, then the Uchiha would be given more trust to wipe out the Leaf's enemies. The Uchiha would be pissed that they were not given more defensive duties during the Kurama attack so during this surprise war the Leaf would be forced to use the Uchiha as they are some of their strongest weapons. The bond with the Leaf elders and the Uchiha clan becomes stronger due to the Uchiha proving their loyalty for the Leaf during this crisis. They were unable during the Kurama attack but the war will cause the Leaf to be even more desperate otherwise they will face total destruction. The entirety of every Leaf village clan would work together (the Hyuga, Uchiha, InoShikaCho, Aburame, Inuzuka) plus the Anbu and the root working to defend the Leaf. Hiruzen would be focusing more on defense, meanwhile Danzo being evil would finally be a good thing as he would absolutely want to not just obliterate the attackers but to absorb them into the Leaf and to steal their resources and weapons. Also, Jiraiya would be there for this war (unless it's a well planned sneak attack like what the Sand did, but that is unlikely because no one knew Obito would cause a rampage plus other villages will definitely spy on the Leaf to gather info on just how weak they are and then they would use this info to assess whether an invasion is worth it or not, remember the Leaf is the strongest and most rich village). Perhaps, the Leaf may be able to cut a deal with another village to help out as backup or perhaps other villages don't intervene. This worse possible case scenario is the Leaf fighting every other Nation at the same time but I doubt that the other Nations would be able to cooperate together in time to attack. After Kurama attacked, the Leaf was on high alert and would have had their spies check every village for any signs of a potential attack. The Leaf are not stupid. They know that brief moments of weakness equals a greater advantage for their enemies to invade and win so they will spy, cheat and viciously fight their way back to the top.
Konoha still would’ve won lol Hiruzen was still consiythe strongest Kage and the entire Uchiha clan was there. They wouldn’t have been made to sit back while a whole village attacked Konoha

I'd be really interested in a conversation about the possibility that many Uchiha, seeing their relatives and friends killed by Konoha ninja, would also gain the mangekyo(poor spelling) as well. It would start with a small handful but as the war went on, I'd imagine more would form during the war. How would that effect things?

Wait I thought getting an ms has to do with you playing a part in the death rather than just watching them die, I think a lot of sharingan users would have awakened, yes, but I don't think an outrageous amount of ms users would be made too
@@dedrik1461 Nah its strictly the extreme emotion of them dying. The reason itachi had to kill shisui is cause itachi wouldnt have felt as much pain if he just lost shisui in battle, he had to physically kill him and essentially hate himself for doing it.
Personally I think the Aborame's would have given the Uchiha's a run for their money, the only genjustu that has ever been shown to be useful against their bugs is Itachi's sukiomi, even the Kuruma clans strongest genjustu didn't work on the bugs of a clan member as weak as Shino (at the time he was a genine) and Itachi can't exactly spam sukiomi.
Your forgetting the Uchihas fire would burn the Aburames bugs, so I think the Nara clan would of been the most trouble if you don’t count Jiraya
@@kngnate2654 considering all these clans would jump ontop of the Uchias and overwhelm them with posion, showdow possession, gentle fist, expansion jutsus, and dogs the Uchia really had no way of ever winning. The best they could hope for is killing the Leaf villages leaders and disabilazing it but the Uchia would all be dead for that.

Two things: I don't think they would have to kidnap Naruto. He was neglected, abandoned and alone. They could've brought him into the fold as a son raised with Sasuke and Itachi and he would've stuck beside the only family he's ever known and we know how fiercely loyal Naruto is.
They also had the option of creating an army of EMS users by forcing their stronger members to awaken their mangekyo and then taking the eyes. Technically any Uchiha can awaken a mangekyo and then get EMS given the right circumstances.
Didn't Mikoto try to adopt Naruto but Danzo opposed? I think it was mentioned in Itachi's novel but I'm not sure

Basically. Because they are extremely outnumbered. Just they Hyuga clan or the Aburame clan can hold thier own against the Uhiha considering they have done it beofre during the waring states period. You combine the Hyuga and Aburame with all the other clans in the village and the Uchia would be wiped out faster than What Obito and Itachi did.

Something I feel that has been forgotten is that as the battle progresses many Uchiha will prbly unlock ms, giving them huge buffs in fighting ability as well as ms abilities such as Amaterasu, Susanoo and many other abilities, which may not spell all out victory but would definitely give the Uchiha a huge buff

Totally agree! Remember the time when obito who is just an average ninja awakened the sharingan, it gave him a significant power boost. What more if normie uchiha foot soldiers with basic sharingans awakened MS? It would sway the tides on their side.
It took Itachi and Sasuke time to master and refined their abiltiies thus any who do get mangekyou sharingan are going to be useless.

I originally wasn’t a big fan of how they handled the Madhara(sp?) & Obito relationship and plot
Because I thought it was a huge stretch that Madhara would just so happen to choose an unremarkable Uchiha child to recruit for his plan

The fact that so much Shinto lore was invested into Itachi's Susanoo and MS abilities kind of makes me think that: A) other MS abilities weren't planned for initially and B) other Uchiha being in the story weren't planned for initially. I know the Yata mirror and Totsuka sword weren't really fleshed out until much later, but Susanoo, Amaterasu and Tsukiyomi being linked to the Shinto myth of Izanami and Izanagi's underworld adventure makes things like Kamui and Kotoamastukami seem out of place. Maybe I'm wrong and both of those are related to Shinto myths that I'm not familiar with and I'm open to corrections, but just something I think about from time to time.
I recommend you watch old swagkage videos about each MS ability and it's backgrounds, also look into the rinnegan, pretty sure its based of the hindu reincarnation realm of samsara (might be wrong on the specifics of that one but its still interesting to know)

The only way for the Uchiha to have some what won and still be a handful of them alive, is for them to form an alliance with another village and defect there, the ideal village would be the cloud village bekuz they are comparable to the leaf in terms of strength. But taking out the higher ups in the hidden leaf and assuming command would've resulted in a civil war within the village bekuz of the other clans loyalty to the village itself and the Hokage. Regardless a ninja war would've came to be either way
Honestly they probably wouldn't need another village given the Hyuga were ripe for a civil war if somebody could figure out how to dispel the mark on the lower clan.

@@anthonylamonica8301 they would be able to. It would just be in one eye so they wouldnt have the susanoo. Still though, any mongekyo ability would be amazing with the byakugan (ex: amaterasu snipes, tsukyomi snipes, ect)
If the child is lucky then they would get one Sharingan and one Byakugan. They would have the strengths of both bloodlines. However, it is possible that the child only awakens just the Sharingan or just the Byakugan. Boruto is half Hyuga and half (Namikaze, Uzumaki, Senju). He was unlucky in that the genetic lottery did not bless him with a Byakugan due to the half of him he gets from Naruto does not have the Byakugan. Him getting a Jougan is different because Naruto and Hinata make an Otsutsuki child (minus the Uchiha DNA).
Sarada is lucky because she actually was blessed with the Sharingan considering she is only half Uchiha. Sasuke is a full Uchiha and Sakura is only Uchiha by name and not DNA. The Uchihas of the past had far more stronger Sharingan potency due to not having their bloodline diluted too much. For example, Indra awakened a fully evolved Sharingan instantly and when he acquired his mangekyo he instantly got a complete perfect Susanoo with wings. Meanwhile, the Uchiha born after Indra had to slowly evolve their Sharingan and slowly grow out their Susanoo (that's if they were lucky enough to gain one) by furthering their psychological trauma so that their brain produces and releases more of the special chakra into their eyes that further evolves the Sharingan.
We should not underestimate fugaku uchiha since he also was considered a hokage candidate even tho he wasn’t the favorite,he probably would have a full MS sharingan with most of his abilities at his. Disposal and when itachi took him out he never intended to fight back,if he decided to put a fight i could bet the story would b different of what we know..
we all assume that a strong Uchiwa have a Mangekyou, but he doesn't have to, clan leader in his mid forty i guess, he must have a lot of experience and maybe he's just very strong in taijutsu with a base sharingan to make it even better, knows a lot of jutsu because he can learn them easilly like Kakashi
Lets look at some plot holes here
1. its been stated that a very small amount of uchihas actually awake the sharingan , let alone 3 tomoe sharingans, so lets assume that there are about 200 uchihas with sharingans and 100 with 3 tomoe sharingans, hence after the battle with the hyuga only about 100-110 uchihas would survive out of the entire clan.
2. since we've just assumed about itachis ms lets not consider it , cause he probably wouldnt have had it by then,
3. you absolutely missed the aburame here, considering danzo atleast knows about shishui, Guy wouldnt be fighting him, it would be someone else just to create a diversion while 1 of 100s of aburame just sneaks and finishes the job(maybe with the help of a nara clan member)
4. why did we assume that no other uchiha would be allied with danzo, or else danzo wouldnt know about the coup, he could simply summon jiraya if he knew even a little bit. So the battles would be Itachi(without ms) vs kakashi. guy vs fugaku, jiraya and hiruzen vs obito and kuruma , and shishui would be dead or paralysed.
also obito does not hold any alligence to the uchiha , he would simply desert them if the tides were turned
The uchiha massacre would still be Uchiha Massacre but even sasuke would be dead.
If guy is already in the gates he would be immune/ resistant to genjutsu due to the gates having wild chakra flow thus braking him out automatically
My thought is it's winnable... if it remains a *coup*, not a war. Not total numbers, but, "Hey, we killed Hiruzen, Danzo, and some of the other jonin, but we don't want to wipe out *any* of you, so now that the old boss is dead we're the only ones strong enough to lead Konoha, stand down."
The thing is killing Hiruzen itself is already one hell of a problem because they dont have Orochimaru's knowledge on Sealing to isolate the Hokage from the Anbu, and the vast majority of the Uchiha are weaker than the Anbu.
Like the ONLY way for Uchiha to win is to get Kotoamatsukami to work on Hiruzen as he is much stronger than everyone else at that point.
And sorry but no way would the Uchiha wants Orochimaru by their side, they want to overthrow Konoha, but they dont disagree with the Orochimaru is an international criminal who wants kekkai genkai
Hi Nick, great video but I think that you missed one detail which is that Fugaku never wanted a full on war against konoha he even said that he could control Kurama but didn't want to. His plan was to kill Hiruzen, Danzo and the two elders to have a change in leadership.
I still find I hard to believe that the Uchiha clan was really that powerful if they were wiped by two Uchihas. Yes those two were strong however, as you said, there were hundreds of Uchihas. No way the Uchiha clan would've successfully taken over Konoha if they couldn't beat two people.

I mean if 2 people went up against a well trained spartan army of hundreds, but those 2 people were modern-day soldiers with access to modern tools of war, who are you placing your bets on?
They where not expecting the attack and the two were very swift and efficient. Itachi is incredibly skilled one of the top members of the clan and he assassinated most before they where aware of what was going on or WHO the threat was. There were probably several of their jounin who were ready for a fight but didn't see Itachi as a threat till he cut them down. Its one of the benefits of using one of their own to attack them, its completely unexpected and they will be seen as an ally until they strike.

Given that Itachi killed every Uchiha member essentially by himself, the only notable additions are Orochi, Fugaku, Shisui and Obito vs the Leaf. I don't think that's close, tbh. Itachi is unlikely to have MS without Shishui. I just don't see it, but I'm a casual. If we use end-story power scaling, yes. But with all the end-game power scaling, Madara should have overtaken the leaf after Hashi died. Kishi really wrote an unbalanced story that began very balanced which is what made it cool.
Tbf giving the Uchiha’s Obito who wasn’t living in the village is a game-end right there.. no one in the leaf (maybe except hiruzen) is even remotely close to Obito and has a counter play against kamui.. there are many arguments pitching yellow mask Obito (without Kurama) against the Shanin and Obito still wins.. remeber Naruto defeats Pain Minato thinks the yellow mask Obito and he says to Naruto “yep sage mode not enough you need 9-tails chakra powers” and sage mode Naruto is far stronger than everyone in the leaf (maybe again except this younger version of Hiruzen).. only Obito should be enough LOL.. and on top of that you are giving freaking Itachi and 2 other MS user where Kotoamatsukami (not sure about spelling ) is an option? The leaf stands 0 chance..

Even with that, 4th beat him. You are referencing Obito vs Pain which is essentially 2 decades later. It isn't the same league.
Itachi wouldn't have MS. Fugaku lost to Itachi (though with MS). Shishui has 2 uses of his MS per decade, and the Hyuuga could disrupt it, IIRC.
Again, if it was THAT easy, the Uchiha would not have been outcasts to begin with. Further, Madara would have stomped the village after Hashi died.

in his video he is giving Itachi the MS..
and also in the Pain fight Minato only knows yellow mask Obito from their encounter back then.. so what he says to Naruto applies to yellow mask Obito..
Fukagu never lost to Itachi he didn’t even fight him.. he didn’t want to have a bloodlust battle against his son

Yes the Uchiha were outcasts this has nothing to do with their power though.. they also never had MS Shisui with MS Itachi and Obito together.. Shisui was a spy for Danzo..
In the OG timeline Obito isn’t there, Itachi doesn’t have MS and Shisui is a spy for Danzo..
Giving Obito to the Uchiha’s is a big boost and an overkill for the leaf.. his scenario is more of a what if scenario.. what if these 4 Uchiha worked together..
I would advise you to watch some powerscaling videos by swawkage and Seth the programmer they really dive deep into yellow mask Obito’s power.. he is at the top of the verse already (currently living individuals only of course not all time lol) and on this fight you have MS Itachi on top of that.. along with MS Shisui and Fukagu.. yeah leaf loses this one lol..
There is also a great video by Six of how Itachi beats the 3rd Hokage so yeah the leaf gets stomped here..
Obito's character is trash. It was just written for Hax as opposed to Madaras which always made sense (how beast Madara was should not have been real, but each step made sense with how the story was told).
Itachi fighting Hiruzen would have been fun to see. With the original story dynamic, I do not know who wins.

Fugaku did mention that he wanted a bloodless coup,and they have been planning this coup for a long while so I would imagine that they wouldn't just outright turn the streets of Konoha into a Battlefield,they being the police of Konoha would probably have information of every single important individual in the village,their residence,place of work and added to that surveillance ,they also have laid out tactics and have a strategy on how they would carry it out,while Konoha would be caught by surprise,unplanned and not a single idea of when and where it would take place given that Itachi and Shisui would be on the Uchiha side,I would imagine a situation where key structures are secured and key individuals are taken into custody or subdued immediately without alerting the rest of the village ,storming the Hokage HQ would be the ultimate goal,given how Hiruzen is a Pacifist he'd immediately surrender his office,get the Anbu to backdown and Danzo would with his root go underground as terrorists to overthrow the new Uchiha run Konoha.
Or if it comes down to battle,The Uchiha would be more organised and well led and most likely have laid out plans on how to carry a battle of this sort and for Konoha they'd need to first organise and improvise counterattacks and that could mean lots of casualties as they play right into any traps the Uchiha would've laid out,I see a victory for the Uchiha in the sense that other clans would take time to mobilise and mostly Hiruzen not wanting more blood to be shed surrendering or signing an armistice in Fugaku's favour before they incur more casualties
I think Chojis clan can put up a good fight against a few susanos
Also Inos clan can mind control people on the Uchiha side
A few things I thought of:
- Obito may not be sided with Uchiha, but at least won't be with Konoha either.
- Given that in these circumstances no one would see it coming, the Uchiha would have enough time for preparation. That preparation would include potentially getting allies outside Konoha and making sure that the strongest of their enemies don't pose a threat. This could be done by either creating false alarms far away from the village (hell, just kidnap Naruto and yeet him into the middle of nowhere, yes, I think that'd be better than getting Kurama out and then hoping you can control him) so that the top shinobi would go on missions to investigate them, or do it the Itachi way and just wipe a bunch of people clean at night when they're not ready to fight back.
- It's not a far stretch to think that some other clans and/or people would join them in this operation too. I can't quite tell who that would be other than maybe Hyugas (which would just turn everything in their favor in a heartbeat), but it's not as far from possibility as you may think.
- A lot of the Uchiha would likely awaken sharingan/MS/EMS during the fights, by either seeing clanmates die or literally killing their own friends cause that's how those bloody eyes work. And who knows if they're not gonna invent a new broken ability that we haven't seen before?
- Given that Orochimaru is most likely sided with Uchiha and everything is planned out he can also bring a few of his experiments. Not saying they'd take out top tier people but they could do some work for sure.
Ultimately, I think it comes down to how well the Uchiha would be prepared: if they took their time with a well thought plan they could very much pull it off.

I don’t think no one would see it coming. Itachi was their mole but without him they still don’t trust the Uchiha. They would still be spying on them. I don’t think any of the clans would side with the Uchiha. Specially against what would seem like a very uphill battle.
Well Nick one point to consider is that if Uchihas can recruit Obito they probably could hire the Akatsuki ( specifically Nagato) and convince other hidden villages with promise of fertile land or resources ( like Konoha Crush).
This is true but at this point the Akatsuki were extremely low key. No one knew about them. It wasnt until 6 years later that people like Jirya started to notice thier existence.

I believe the biggest bonus for the Uchiha that wasn't really accounted for was the surprise factor of the coup. Since the top members of the clans and of the Konoha forces would be the earliest targets to throw any chance of a counterattack into disarray. If done properly it would give them a major advantage or just straight up give them the win early on.
So I would say with the early positioning would go something like this:
Hiruzen < Fugaku and some elite Uchiha
Might Guy < Shisui (Kotoamatsukami - To Fight because how many people would be able to release a genjustsu on somebody who is 7th gating peoples asses at incredible speeds but to run if that is more practical)
Danzo/Root < Orochimaru
Obito is harder to place since he has a few places he could be
1. Talk no jutsu Kakashi like he tried to do in the war arc (could be done before the coup if he thought it would work)
2. Hiashi Hyuga
3. Help with Hiruzen
4. Kurama (but this could also be any high level sharingan user Mikoto? Itachi? Unknown dude 7293?)
Itachi would then get whoever Obito didn't get or any other important targets like the "communication center" of Konoha the Yamanaka clan
Other elite Uchiha targets/ secondary targets / or just wait for them to go on a mission
Asuma
Inoshikacho
Kurenai
Clan Heads
Yamato (if even on their radar since he is hiding within the root)
High level Anbu/Root
I can see Danzo manipulating the Uchiha Clan to fight until they all go extinct.
Whenever I see a group picture of the Akatsuki, i always think, Pain sent a group chat/ Gedo statue message saying,

That was pretty much my thoughts on the situation the Uchiha did have enough fire power to take care of the higher level fighters, but not enough manpower to handled the rest of the Village.
When it comes to a traditional rebellion the Uchiha only have two options:
1.) unleash the Ninetails, and eliminate all the people that stand a chance at sealing the fox. With no one to stop the fox It doesn’t matter how many ninja konoha has.
2.) make allies with a bunch of other clans. If they can get only a small handful of the stronger clan in konoha to back them up or stay out of the battle The leafs numbers advantage could become manageable.
Although what clans would help the Uchiha, or agree to remain neutral during the rebellion?🤔
Anyone who felt wronged by the village or were open to listening ot the Uchiha. After all they where in the right, they where being abused and mistreated through no fault of their own. They where kicked out of their ancestral homes to be housed in a compound for the village to be better to control and attack at will. They where forced into a job none of them wanted because they were Uchiha. Really most clans would side with them because if it can happen to a co-founder clan of Konoha what chance in hell do these random clans who joined later have?
How long before the Yamakana know to much through their spying jutsu. How long before the Aburame use up their usefulness. How long before the Hyuga get to pompous for their own good? If the Uchiha (one of the two founding clans) can be cast out and painted as the villains, any clan can be.
@@TheLastSane1 That’s a good point if the Uchiha where to implant the idea that The other clans have the potential to be segregated and be made a miss treated minority with just rumors there will definitely be at least one or two clan that would join the strongest/ founding clan in konoha.
Plus, with Danzo’s long list of atrocious actions being unpunished, and the head of root kidnapping some of the most promising clan members for his Organization the Uchiha would have plenty of material to use for their recruitment plan.
On top of this they could use the 3ed hokage’s Bad reputation from the third war, him letting Danzo do whatever he wants, and the recent Orochimaru situation to paint the old man as someone who needs to step down as hokage.
The one problem is the 3ed hokage is extremely well liked by the majority of the people, the Uchiha’s reputation meanwhile is it All Time Low, and the if they’re not careful odds are they will lose the element of surprise by recruiting a decent number of clans.
Was Shisui really under Danzo? In the Light Novel I know he is a Jonin of Konoha--not a member of the Military Police Force. He then goes to Hiruzen on his own accord and informs him about the happenings in the clan. Hiruzen then gives him a special ANBU position where he need only report to him. Danzo, in fact, tells Hiruzen that he would like more control over Itachi (which he gets) since Hiruzen has his own insider amongst the Uchiha, whilst he doesn't. I know the anime showed something different but I think the LN is probably a more reliable source.

I think it’s close but if you’re giving them Obito you gotta give them Jaryia. Jaryia was keeping tabs on Obito as well as everyone else. Also it does depend on how prepared Danzo was. He wasn’t blind to any possibility of a rebellion, even without Itachi he would have found some spies to get some intelligence. Also regardless by the fact that more of the upper Uchia fighters win, with Danzo he would wipe out as many as the fodder Uchia as possible. So even if they “won” they still lost their whole clan excluding maybe 4 high members with Obito probably set to betray them at any point.
A few things:
1-If obito sides with uchiha then claimed to be madara he couldnhave both inspired his allies and terrorized his enemies just by existing.
2-if the coup is a surprise then the uchiha can time it to attack when the most troublesome ninja are on missions.

Lol this hypothetical was fun until Izanami/Izanagi got brought in. Jutsus’ a cheat code when you think about it. All the Uchiha would’ve had to do was have a lil meeting before the coup, “hey learn about these two jutsus, don’t use em until the big day” and then *BOOM* now we have Uchihonoha
The Uchiha would likely still win or atleast one Uchiha would come out on top because remember when Obito first unlocked his MS he took out a whole bunch of anbu jonin from the hidden mist without breaking a sweat. This obito is far stronger so in the case where the top combat powers are either dead or out of the fight Obito would have no problem taking out the rest of the village alone especially if he had Kurama and just told him to kill everyone. The fight would just be a rehash of his fight with those mist anbu except with more people, a far more powerful Obito, and a rampaging Kurama that would take a lot of the attention away from Obito since you can't just let a giant fox launch tailed beast bombs everywhere. If the leaf stall enough for Jiraya to get there then sure he may be able to seal kurama but him stopping Obito isn't going to happen. Obito wouldn't give him the chance to go into sage mode and immediately rush to shove him into the kamui dimension and kill him. Remember the only reason a weaker obito ever got hit was because Minato had flying raijin without that Minato was going to die in that fight and now Obito is even stronger and against Jiraya he's stomping him. Kamui is so busted it isn't even funny.
You're right Konaha is the most densely populated out of the five major villages.. so whenever they said they didn't have any Manpower or they couldn't spare enough Shinobi for a job I immediately scream bullshit
You gotta remember the way Konoha makes money is by shipping their squads to the rest of the country of Fire and beyond.

Also think about it, if the Uchiha really was powerful enough that they could defeat konoha then they would have seized power diplomatically instead of being pushed around by the leadership. That rule hadn't been thought up yet at the time that chapter was written. But we could potentially explain it away as neither Hiruzen or Orochimaru knowing about that particular weakness yet since the latter hadn't mastered Edo Tensei at the time, and neither Hiruzen _or_ Tobirama would've likely even _tried_ to resurrect a sealed-away opponent.

Kishimoto made a lot of things up along the way that doesn't make sense in retrospect, but considering how big the Naruto universe and the story is, some plotholes are inevitable. This is one of them, we just have to accept it.
Major flaw here if the uchiha found out about obito they would deduce that obito was the one who started the 9 tails attack years ago leading to even further uchiha discrimination so Fugaku and the Uchiha could go to konoha higher ups to clear there name and the higher ups would have to answer for there discrimination against them like putting Uchihas back in the leaf and giving them better opportunities. Technically speaking it doesn't matter if someone can see that Might Guy is under control. With how fast a 7th Gate Might Guy is who would be able to touch him to release the Genjutsu? Or better yet just have Might Guy go 8 Gates and take out Hiruzen and either another top threat or just a BUNCH of rank and file soldiers to even the numbers game. Also Shisui does have 2 eyes. If Shisui is loyal enough to join the cue then I think he would be willing to sacrifice both eyes so in that case you could have both Hiruzen and Might Guy fighting for the Uchiha or just running away immediately to permanently take them out the fight.

Uchiha Clan theories are fun to watch
I feel like 2 things were majorly brushed over on both sides,
1. Many of the Uchiha members would be unlocking mangekyos during the fight as their friends and family died.
2. Gentle fist is kinda busted, and its not mentioned once (also, considering every hyuga is pretty well trained most of them are stronger than the standard ninja, especially with gentle fist included)
The "many uchiha would be unlocking Mongykyo" is total bullshit. The uchiah were killed all the time in front of each other during the waring state periods and 1st 2nd and 3rd ninja world wars and only 4 people in that long ass stretch of time and hundreds of dead friends ever unlocked Mynkegko. Its extremely extremely rare to unlock.
Honestly whenever Konoha gets attacked they have a lot of fodder and like 4 really powerful ninjas 🥷
One thing to add is possibly many uchiha will awaken their MS from seeing eachother die during that fight. Now they wouldn’t have mastered it but it would definitely help.

If this hypothetical truly meant that the coup was a surprise attack, the Uchihas would’ve had key ninja groups taken out as a united front. Having the first few moments of surprise and creating disorder before Konoha could assemble for a counter strike would be essential for the Uchihas to win. The longer the battle goes, the worse it would be for the Uchihas. I don’t see Jiraiya getting back anytime since Obito could have him be very busy or if he did get back, Orochimaru could block him at every turn.
If the Uchiha have won, then Madara's resurrection would've lead to a revolution for a new faction with the Clan independent of the Land of Fire and possibly start a war against the rest of village. The "new" found regime will partially undo the alliance that was secured to establish the Leaf Village since the founding days, much like the MissingNin pattern going as far back as Indra had when he resented.
In any universe where the coup actually happens, the losers end up being taken out by the remaining ninja villages either acting in concert or deciding to initiate attacks independently upon hearing of the weakened state of the leaf.
An Uchiha coup, successful or not, would have meant the end of the leaf.

I think that the massacre was I part for destabilization but also for access to additional Sharingan. Knowing he had spares would remove the worry of using izanagi and izanami. As a further way to ensure his and madara's plan

A night attack to get some of the most important enemies of the Uchihas, maybe not kill them, but put them in a Gengutsu as to make them sway their clans not to take part in the battle. Of course, the Hyuga's would need to be dealt with as fast as possible. A night attack like Itachi and Obito did the Uchihas, but add Shisui into the mix... and a couple ten more Uchihas to be safe.
I feel like a remember an episode where itatchi imagined this playing out and the first thing they did was kidnap Naruto. If that’s the case uchihas tough to beat and adds to the absurdity that they just let Naruto walk around unattended every day

many good points made but forgot about one thing. As soon as the uchiha attack, the other villages would hear through spies and would IMMEDIATELY jump to attack konoha. Whether they join the uchiha and make an alliance with them or just wipe them out as well idk, but either way konoha just lose. the nine tails and obito alone saw some of the most damage konoha has ever faced on home turf and with the uchiha and potentially other villages joining in, I think its safe to say that konoha wouldnt survive a surprise attack.
So there is one thing I have on this, all of this comes with the idea of a front loaded battle, but we're still talking about ninja, so that's likely to change how this rebellion is fought

Imagine how many MS would have been opened up during this battle. Family seeing family members dies next to them and then awaking a MS in the moment of the battle.

I think giving them Orochimaru is QUITE a stretch. The argument that he’d be interested in the sharingan doesn’t really hold up, as if he had known about this opportunity he would have seized on it. Since he didn’t, it’s safe to assume he either didn’t know about the coup or wasn’t in a position to take advantage of it. I can’t see any reason why he wouldn’t side with whoever provides him a sharingan, and I could easily see Danzo making such an agreement, if they really needed orochimaru.
Since hypotheticals are being considered as well. If Hinata and Neji been given more relevance in the Naruto series, then the Byakugan might have been given more abilities just as the Sharingan was, which conveniently kept Sasuke a threat to Naruto, which would not have been the case if the Sharingan only had the same benefits as in the original Naruto series

Shisui would not participate in this coup/civil war, he strictly stated himself that he wants to avoid it at all costs, same with Itachi but he was cornered by Danzo.
one of the scariest parts about all out war with uchiha is that (i imagine at least) people would be awakening mangekyo mid fights as their friends and family are killed in front of them. and while sure they would not be trained with them at that point, it would still make them a lot more terrifying
If theres fear of select Jonin standing up to them they could wait for them to leave on a mission or send them on one. Like how guy was outta town during the pain attack
Also this is a relatively secret Coup. assassination would (i imagine) play a massive part in getting an early leg up on many of the HVTs they would be fighting in the coup. or they could just send waves of assassins across the city to take care of a high number of modarately strong jonin & chunin (avoiding the hyuga estate given theyd definitely be caught)
& if anyone does get caught, theyre uchiha, theres probably only a few in the village that couldnt get trapped in their genjutsu. esp if they only need to be locked down for a short bit for one of that teams assassins to take them out quietly
Donzo was right, he and his goons would have kill every Uchiha and the village would have been on Donzo's side. The Uchiha would stand no chance...and Itachi knew that. Obito also knew that Itachi and himself are the only two that would have any chance against the strongest from Konoha which would not be enough...not even close. Jiraiya would have stepped in at some point...and that would be the end of the coup. The 3rd, Might Guy, Donzo, Kakashi and Jiraiya would be too much. I mean, if Sage Six-path Madara didn't have the healing ability...he would have been killed by Might Guy.
There is a few things that needs to be talked about.
While its a common reading that the Uchiha were isolationist and never really interacted outside of the clan. Thats not backed up by the characters we meet. We know Shisui, Itachi, Obito, Sasuke, etc all went to the academy and at least for Obito had friends outside of the clan. We know Kushina and Mikoto were friends. So the idea that the clan could be exterminated and no one would ask questions is dumb. And of course that while it was quick, it still took more than enough time for people to notice the screaming why was no one sent in to find out what happened? Starts to look like Konoha left the Uchiha be killed off by withholding aid.
But beyond that realistic look at the clan interactions you have situations like Kakashi who was friends with Obito, who got permission from the Uchiha to keep his eye. The Uchiha suddenly being ostracized would be noticeable and sure maybe he wouldn't catch it at first but its his best friends family. I did want to point out while when we think of the Uchiha we imagine the compound because its what we have seen of them. We know that they didn't always live there we know they got put there after the attack by Danzo and Hiruzen. So before the attack while they may have lived in clusters around Konoha they would have lived spread across the village. Now not for nothing but shortly after the attack by Kurama in which the Uchiha had been ordered as a clan to stand down (Again this is prior to the compound where they where all shipped later so this would have taken time for the orders to go out to the individual members) that the entire clan, every single member, suddenly has to leave their homes and move to the outskirts of the village. How does any villager not view that as a punishment, and any clan leader not begin to worry about this?
Even if we want to say the Uchiha were all in one clump in part of the village we still have the issue of them having to leave the area they had held since the founding of Konoha to move to the outskirts of the village leaving their ancestral home vacant. Thats not six dudes moving flats this is hundreds of people having to move house virtually overnight. And the village couldn't possibly assume that the Uchiha were guilty for the attack because during this time the Uchiha were stil the active police force (agents of the village). This would seem like the Uchiha being punished out of hand, for no seaming reason they are just being exiled from the village.
So anyone who was a friend of the uchihas would notice that their friends suddenly had to up and leave their homes to go move to the outskirts of the village. Homes many of them have had for 50+ years the homes of their parents and grandparents now vacated on the Hokage's orders. Villagers would not be against it, but not for it either without reason. And teammates, friends, and lovers would definitely notice. But clans would notice too. That this powerful clan is being pushed into isolation does that mean it could happen to them.
In an Uchiha coup I honestly think the Uchiha would have allies. Look at the Aburame there is no way that clan is stationed middle of the village. They would definitely be on the outskirts of the village due to their odd jutsu and their giant ass bugs that can be the size of a person. So how hard would it be for the Uchiha to reach out to another clan with complains about the village leadership. "My grandfather survived the warring clans era and built that house with his bare hands and now I had to move out of the village because the elder said so. How is that fair, how is it right? WE have done nothing wrong so why are we punished?" it would get attention, it would be something to build an alliance on clans that felt wronged by the village.
Now throw those numbers on the boards. If it was an alliance of the Uchiha and a couple of other clans like the Aburame and some other smaller clans that felt underappreciated or mistreated you suddenly have an issue that the numbers game is not as lopsided. Especially if the Uchiha are actually perusing a coup not a village wipe. They would be working to force the leadership into surrender and removing those who had wronged them not kill the village. Sure people would die but it wouldn't be what the civil war was about. Meaning not every Uchiha defeated would be killed either. Most rank and file Uchiha would be captured and detained not killed because they aren't the leadership of the coup and could maybe be brought back into the fold after the dispute ended. But yeah people like Fugaku and his kids would likely need to be killed off because they are the leaders
Of course if we wanna say Orochimaru is there.. its been six years since Hiruzen let him escape he very well might have had Edo Tensai at this point and Hashirama's cells. Just have Orochimaru Edo Tensai Hashirama back and tell him that Danzo and Hiruzen are being mean to the Uchiha and then sit back and watchin beat the shit out of Konoha on his own.
