People concerned about lowering the "life" of the Steam Deck with high temperatures. You will be buying a Steam Deck 2 before seeing your current Steeam Deck dying because of temperature degradation. Dont worry too much.
Not to mention that most PC parts are rated to last like 30 years at rated temps and voltages. I think most people want to do this to overclock the steam deck
I like there’s a lot of people trashing the thing but video after video and testing after testing it’s been proven to actually make your battery life last longer and helps your deck not get overheated if you play demanding games. Tbf tho most of those hate is mostly on Reddit and the steam forums and ignore how good it is or useful it is.
I love it when people on reddit said just use the fantastic plugin and blast the stock fan to 7000 rpm, yeah.. no. I would like to avoid opening up my deck since it's not supported in my country and importing the parts is actually more expensive than the jsaux fan
Can you provide a source for your claims? Because I can not find or think how this thing would increase battery life. Maybe lifespan (and even that not that noticeable) but battery life will stay the same.
You must ignoring how inconvenient it is. Why would I attach something I can't remove or be forced to use a case when I can already play bo3 zombies or no mans sky at default settings for 12 hours and not even hit 80 degrees celcius... which is safe working tempatures for the steam deck. It slows down at 100, shutting down at 105. So why do I need to cool down my system? It hasn't even hit 80 after a 14 hour play session. My sd gets hotter then the steam deck is even able too and that does even break. You guys are just too careful. Why spend $800 or more on a console and not use it? And if your worried about it breaking. It's costs $500 dollars to repair the entire steam deck including all hardware that can even possible break, battery, sticks, fan even the touchpads. All can be fixed for less then a new deck. So again, why would I be worried? IF i break my steam deck, it's only gunna come out better since I'll be upgrading not just repairing
New Steam deck owner here and bought this - I noticed this cooler makes my steam deck run noticeably cooler and hold fps better with this. I even bought an updated Jsaux back plate with the angled heat pad and it still works perfectly. Only commenting to confirm its a legit must have - most of these blower style coolers in general dont do much but make noise
Ive had a fan similar to this on my og xbox one. It never "wore out the existing fan" and I dogged the shit out of that console. I ordered my steam deck with the full intention of using it as a desktop pc 95% of the time. This fan seems great for that. For using it handheld idk
Does the mount really need to stick to the backplate? Or it's also supported at the top? considering this but I do like using a case and didn't want to stick anything there
I have a couple noctua fans left over... I wonder if I could concoct a forced intake and exhaust funnel that's lo profile with the docking station. left over fans and a 3d printer... might as well tinker.
Steam deck comes with 2 different fan brand, Huying and Delta. Huaying is way quieter but lower fan speed... Delta goes 2x the fan speed but much louder, think Jet engine. But it does cool much better than the Huying fan...
So is this fan basically kind of an extraction fan to help move the hot air out of the device faster? And do you think the clamp version will fit over the Aokzoe A1? Thanks for the vid and hope you see this haha.
They said neon green and never released that color. And someone should def get on holographic backplates or much more customizable colors or something. I'm pretty underwhelmed at what companies have come up with.
The perfect cool down way for steam deck is 1-Jsaux transparent backplate 2-Jsaux fan cooler 3-(optional)take graphics down if you ok only with gameplay LOWER TEMPS LONGER LIFE
Seems like far more trouble than it's worth. One more thing to carry, one more thing to have charged. I wonder if anyone ever buys this and actually uses it more than a couple times. But maybe I'm being too cynical there.
I can see the use for home use in docked mode. With other mods deff worth it. What I don't like is doesn't take grip cases into account. With a matching case it would be great.
@@ivancastillo179 For what its worth, I think it is available in a bundle with the jsaux mod case and its adapted to fit that, ive been using my deck for desktop gaming recently since my pc died and ive just been running the stock internal fan at max, its not hit concerning temps unless ive tried playing on too high settings. Depends on the game though of course.
Im planning of buying this but thank God I saw your videos. My highest temp playing horizon is 84-86. This doesnt break my steam deck right? This is normal right? Pla tell me. Been playing for 8hrs straight. Im afraid the heat will break my steam deck
definitely not ideal for the cpu but it won’t cause long term damage outside of prematurely wear on thermal paste. best thing to do is limit how long you play the games that heat up the cpu a lot (so probably don’t play for 8hrs straight lmao) and look into cooling solutions like this
Processors are designed so they can handle up to 90°C. They will start throttling past that temp (usually at 100°C) and shutdown to avoid damage if it continues to go even higher. With that said, playing with TDP, frame rates, resolution and FSR you can lower the temps quite a bit. That's how I play Sekiro at 50 fps with mostly high settings (some medium) and barely ever get past 70 degrees C.
JSAUX designers are obviously from the 80's who go used to gameboy attachments... external batteries, magnifying screen, external speakers, button enhancements etc....😂
Implying that adding years to the steam deck’s life isn’t worth investing $40. Not to mention the added protection from the case itself. You’re a clown.
JSAUX cooling fan worked wonders for me also. Drops mine by at least 10 degrees.

thanks this really helped with my temps after overclocking the ram
Does the oem fan have bearings and if so does it wear the oem fan out?
I'm loving this add-on. Just a shame there's no way to hang a battery pack alongside it, too.
I have the Antank battery pack magnetic that sticks to the back and let me tell you... that thing gets HEAVY as a mofo lol it ain't worth it...

Did you have a chance to test it with Legion Go?
2nd.

Does the fan work with the Skull n Co case on? I'm assuming it doesn't
Bought mine recently...it works..kept my SD arnd 49-51degrees while playing sleeping dogs at high setting
It might give you an extra year out of the device, 7-8 degrees is quite significant.
I wish jsaux designed the modcase to use multiple accessories at once.
Thanks for the video bro. Have been Thinking of getting on. Think I will now.
Does lowering the fan speed result in better battery life if the fans arent pulling as much power?
can we use this for legion go?
Will this be compatible with an Lenovo Legion Go?

My cooling fan makes a weird noise at a certain angle. Wonder what that is...
Would be nice if they just offered an upgrade to the internal fan/cooling.

For oled can't work because the reverse the hole process. Please correct me if I am wrong 🙂
How to display the temperature like yours?
Click the 3 dot button on the left of the steam deck then go to the power icon, then set the slider to 4
How about using a 3d printed dock with a desktop cpu cooler that connects to the heat spreader of the clear case
Does anyone know why it has 2 usb c because the bottom one seems to be all it needs i cant seem to find a reason for 2
Can I ask something? How many watts is the cooling fan?
Curious if it would work with an Aokzoe A1
Heat wears all eletric internals just like a car engine running hot 🔥.I will be definitely getting the exhaust fan!
So is this fan basically kind of an extraction fan to help move the hot air out of the device faster? And do you think the clamp version will fit over the Aokzoe A1? Thanks for the vid and hope you see this haha.
I wouldn't count on it fitting over other devices
Not only cools the deck but also lowers the rpm of the inner fan meaning more battery life

Could you recommend this fan in case main fan breaks and I'm too lazy to replace internal one?
Maybe?

Good for using desktop mode, can't even hear the fan if you're wearing a headset.

Not everyone that has deck carry that stuff everywhere. For me it's mostly staying at home either playing on my bed or docked on my desk
People who buy this will likely be using it for docked mode anyway.

Its going to break and your going to have to buy a new one, you probably burned the chip already sorry buddy
@@mettaaa8061 nah still working fine and running smoothly. Thanks for the concern though.

Can you put on the big fan on any case ?
Can't say any case for sure
Thank God it works with the Jsaux mod case. Not a 'fan' of the sticky stuff🤣
Thank you for this video
Does this fan work with the Steam Dock?
Can't test that for sure, don't have one. Works with JSAUX Dock though.

6 Degree Celsius and 700rpm less. For what? 40 Dollar? Nice Job, JSaux! ;'-D

Yeah, the price is WAY too high for something so cheaply made. 20 bucks is what it should go for.
I dont see the point in this accessory because you will eventually want to dock your steam deck and it doesn't seem like it'll fit with the dock.
