Just listening to the pilot during those maneuvers is exhausting. Flexing his muscles, grunting, stretching in the seat, all to prevent him from blacking out at those G's. Fighter pilots are true warriors.
Amazing to see the pilot going through all that physical strain inside the cockpit....
Yeah..the F-15 is a big fighter plane....and so wonderfully beautiful !!!!!
so true so as his littel brother the f-16
When I joined the A.F. back in '82, THIS is the reason why. Never got to fly but damn, I never realized how physically demanding it could be. This is just a demo, unarmed plane with no threat of getting shot down and the pilot still took a beating, imagine in a real combat arena with enemy pilots and AAA crews trying to terminate your flight status... oh man!
Nice avatar👍🏼 696969696969696969
These men are real men worthy of the utmost respect and admiration.
while the F15 maybe over 40 years old. It will probably go down as one of the best fighters of all time.
Brian F No THE best fighter of all time and the very symbol of western air power.
i agree 110%
Brian F : my son flies a F15 SE. The original F15s are 40 years old. The SE version is the second generation maybe is only 20 years younger. They have the newer stealthy technology and electronics including night vision. The SE also needs two pilots to fly because it is a very complex and challenging plane to fly. Their shape maybe similarly to the original version, but realities are not. It is still the best plane in real life and in the world.
I agree!
Still is.
Still, one of the best looking single seat fighters, of all time.
Yep!
Agreed...
Perhaps the best looking fighter of any type ever!
Every once in a while UA-cam recommends a really good video like this. That's some badass flying in a badass aircraft.
I black out 3 times just listening to this unbelievable pilot fight the Gs.
Saw an F-15 demo several years ago. It came down the runway in slow flight, gear and flaps hanging down, then went to full power, sucked everything in, pitched straight up and accelerated vertically --- with ear-splitting noise --- until it was out of sight.
This is a truly amazing machine.
+Paul M
I never realized until this video how fast the gear goes up. Couple that with two big after burning engines and that must have been quite a rush to see in person.
I've had a really nice book about the F-15 for many years and I never read about the gear. I knew all about the time to climb records. They only mention one in this video but there were several. I don't know if they all still stand but there was more than one.
I saw the same thing at Duluth Air Show. He out flew an f-14 f-18 f-16 demo. He must have been THEE best the air force because he left the crowd speechless. High speed turns low speed turns accelerating during climb this is an awesome plane in the care of an awesome crew and pilot. Thank you all.
Bruce ?1-
That guy must be retired now the video is from 2001 but posted on youtube in 2014 20 years ago guy be in his 50's now
That vertical acceleration continues a very, very, long, long way up.......a ridiculously capable aircraft. While it can't (yet) turn on its centroid (like F-22), it deserves consideration for the exhaust routing for increased yaw.
Air shows in Maryland are more sparse than ever..... Andrews cancelled some in past few years, not sure if Patuxent River Naval Air Station even still sponsors. Martin Airport (Marietta), a few miles as the crow flies is home to the Maryland Air National Guard A-10 squadron..... last time I saw an A-10, we'd parked across road from field surrounding Andrews runway, walked across field. Two A-10's banking and climbing right above us.....it is a beautiful sound, the phase shift that occurs when shifting load to either of their two engines.
As far as vertical climb, at least for a decade or more the F-15 was the ONLY plane that could maintain acceleration in vertical climb; it's been at least as far up as U2 and SR-71....... yeah, an F-15 pilot in a mandatory spacesuit.
His breathing during the g turns sounds like me trying to remove the oil filter in my car using that weird wrench thing.
Is LABORED BREATHING NECESSARY
WHEN NOT NECESSARY?
i don't understand the technique.
♠️THE VANITY ADDICT♠️
I was a A-10 mechanic for 8 years.
I'll never forget the F-15 doing a demo at DM AFB before the Thunderbirds.
That solo F-15 blew the T-birds away.
Goosebumps!
Our office manager's son grew up over night and now works on the A10
Thanks for your service my friend!
SSGT David Hansell, USAF Doing good work narrating there!
looks easy and mild while watching at the ground but looking at the pilot perspective, it looks so hard, fast and unforgiving. No wonder pilots looks tired as hell when they get out of the cockpit. My admiration towards fighter pilots = level up!
Tamba Momochi: All those g's take a tremendous toll on the human body.
Tamba Momochi
Of course ... me too
Sweet
Its immensely draining and does take its toll on the body. Continuous fitness is imperative as well as mental alertness. I did my time flying the Tornado GR4 in the Royal Air Force now retired and send my best wishes and respect to our friends in the United States.
Good footage , working his arse off!! I miss the USAF ACC F-15 East & West Coast demonstration teams , those were the airshow glory days!! & most recently I miss the ACC F-15E Strike Eagle demo team out of Seymour Johnson AFB , great crew from 2010 !
Seymour Johnson AFB Johnson AFB Seymour Johnson AFB North Carolina!! Bad to the bone F15E Eagle 🦅 country!!!
Cool flying Major !
Many people don't understand one of the amazing things about the F15 is that this platform was designed in the late 50s, first flew in the mid 70s and still remains as the one of the leading air superiority multi-role fighters in the 21st century.
The design history is interesting. The airframe configuration was originally based on the North American A-5 Vigilante, a big nuke delivery bomber for the NAVY which managed to fly from the big carriers. Russia took that concept because of its efficient design and potential with a big semi-delta wing for a fighter and intercept platform, and MiG came up with the MiG-25 Foxbat. And that scared us a little because it had the "potential" to shoot down an SR-71, though it never came close. We had no idea how well it could tangle with western fighters, but the performance was ridiculous for its day.
We scrambled to come up with something a quantum leap better, and McDonnell-Douglas got the nod because the F-4 Phantom was so phenomenal. After some serious head scratching and coffee between MDD and Pratt & Whitney for the engines, they produced the first operational fighter with a better than 1 to 1 thrust to weight ratio, meaning it could essentially fly straight up till it ran out of air. And it had astonishing maneuverability combined with a deadly weapons system - and all this in a fuselage as big as a WWII bomber! It's still one of the deadliest jets flying.
Late 60s, not 50s
The Tomcat is still better...R.I.P.
LAFB..Hampton Virginia..woke me up to go school...miss those days..😎
What an outstanding video on the load of the F-15. Frightening just watching this stuff... man I love this jet!
I was at the same airport, just sixteen years later. I love this jet so much, the engine is sooo awesome.
What a badass plane and pilot.
World class athletes for sure
I would wager that Major Blue arises each morning looking forward to his work day with a high level of joy.
I've worked this very aircraft when I was stationed at Langley from '98-03. Good times.
Myself as well, same years. 94th!!!!
Langley, "home of the brass"! I remember it well, was there just before y'all with 71st. Thank you both for your service!
When I was a kid, I want to be an Eagle Driver. Well, i never achieved that dream, but became a fire fighter instead. Still happy with my decision, lol.
Pictureofuu Still an amazing achievement mate.
Pictureofuu...I wish that I could've been an Eagle driver! Shit!! The only thing I can drive is a car, and my girlfriend nuts!!
Pictureofuu still a great achievement man. Your making a difference in the world. My Uncle who went to a Fire Academy and really wanted to be a firefighter his whole life didn’t achieve his dream. So be grateful because that’s a great accomplishment man.
I dreamed of being a soldier but now I'm work on grocery. That's very sad because I can't become what I want to be but I hope someday my child can achieve what he want
Daniel Sinaga don’t give up! It’s not too late! All you need is a high school diploma, and go to a recruiter! It’s not too late to enlist!!!!!! You have a shot!!
One hell of a machine , All Geniuses, the ability to understand , direct, & occupy these fighters are what real heroes are! I totally admire & Love their intelligence
So great to see and hear the F-15 true sounds of power with out screaming hard rock music that some post. Bravo Zulu!
The F-15 is by far the most beautiful aircraft ever made. It's insane how perfect it looks. From the handling to the sound of its engines there's just nothing, nor was there ever anything, better in the skies than the F-15 Eagle.
f14 tomcat is the sexiest bird ever made. in my opinion
Awesome 🇺🇸👏
Thanks to all you skilled pilots for giving great shows and putting your hides on the line protecting our freedom! USA!
Major Dan Blue is just amazing!
we've got f-16's here everyday flying and the sound of that power gives me chills every time. but nothing compares to the f-15, ive seen it a couple times in air shows when I was kid, I hope I can see one again some day
i like to watch airshow every year at the my city"s Airport in Canada, and thanks lot for good FF video.
This pilot did an excellent job. It’s very taxing and dangerous to fly like that. He could loose his consciousness and fall off the sky in seconds in a heartbeat. I had flown most fighter jets around and it had been a roller coaster right all throughout.
The high-speed climb record still stands today? Very impressive for a 1975 jet. Great view of the cockpit, I never knew the pilot was labouring that much just performing a demo, great job!
The record for fastest rate of climb is not held by the the F15 it is held by the 1960s British B1 English Electric Lightning look on UA-cam.
+Tony Leadley yeah not the same type of record.
@@anthonyleadley.74 No, the records are held by two special-configured aircrafts: the F-15 "Streak Eagle" and the Su 27 "P-42". The Streak Eagle had a thrust-weight ratio of 1.4 at full afterburner. The Lightning is nowhere near this performance.
F-15 is my favorite plane of US Air Force
Awesome jet the USA needs to build the new F15 X
The F-15 does everything well. It has no weakness. It's unbelievable how relevant it still is in 2019.
The F-15 Strike Eagle is a wonderful airplane and with the F-22 in service it still is great, and the biggest advantage of having the F-22 is it's stealth capability. The F-15 is able to carry more weapons for both air and ground attacks where the newer fighters are designed for air to air combat only. For that reason the F-15's will be around much longer.
Sidney Mathious well the US is using jets against ISIS and i have a feeling they dont have radar detection so stealth isn't that important. a war against someone with better technology would be different i think
*cough* F-35 *cough*
This is the C Model
Excellent video, both inside the cockpit and out, and with the pilot narrating. Well done! Thank you for your service Major Dan Blue. You are amazing sir!
Was in the 94th with "Balls" at Langley 02-05, great guy.
cool, vintage video of VHS era, man 2001 it seems was yestarday but so many things changed
Search and track is prophetic for researcher on tracks of inspiration!! (1982-2020) Terrill TC!
An F15 with no external stores, pylons, tanks must be fun to fly. Probably the only guy in the world to fly it like that.
ive seen a lot of these types of vids. i think the perspective on this one is one of the best.
Langley.. what a place. Loved my time on Atlantic Trident 17 with the UK typhoons.
I was exhausted just watching the guy muscle the plane around. Good god...
I know right? I got dizzy and nauseous when he did 3 consecutive aileron turns.
Geeeezus me too. These guys are super humans. I would eject immediatly after takeoff.
It seems like total masochism flying these planes...
@skogenburzum It's called "positive talk". It's like when you're doing something around the house and you can't get your screwdriver into the screw properly and you say "c'mon, get in there". Same type of thing. Most military pilots verbalize every switch and button they make and every procedure they follow when they're in the seat.
I have always loved the F-15. I was stationed at Kadena where I worked line D., so I saw loads of them.
MMICKELS1 I remember when Kadena had 4 SR-71 blackbird (the habu) and we would watch them take off at night with both afterburners going. the baddest plane on the planet.
Decades ago, I was a geologist mapping some remote mountainous terrain in Nevada and had a pair of F-15's fly up the canyon next to me negotiating the rugged terrain! I was at least five hundred feet above them according to my topo map! A top-down view of that jet is the most spectacular aspect in my book! It has been my favorite jet ever since!
Major Blue, you have the coolest job in the world...😎
Highly intelligent smart fit lucky guys who command and pilot these planes , God bless be blessed
A good friend is a retired Eagle Driver. He was also one of only a couple Flight Surgeons who were also fighter pilots.
Good show. I was at Langley with the 1st TFW when there were onky 6 F15s on base. I worked with guys that worked on the streak eagle. This is a great air to air fighter.
James Robbins I was there 76-80 . Was in the 27th AMU . I was an electrician. Miss those days.
i'm a big Saab gripen jas 39 fan , but i must admit this is a sweet beast
I never realized how big the 15 is! That thing is a damn school bus, but it's still kicking ass in the sky like an extra 300!
One of my favourite jet waterbirds.watched two flying in sync in duxford.they came out of black clouds to ac/DC's thunderstruck.i cant recall any other time in my life I was in so much awe!
2.3 seconds is prophetic for my college graduation that was on May 23, 2019 me be being born on 7-3-76! Terrill TC!
Awesome pilot, awesome plane!! From a USAF Crew Chief, C-130's and B-52's, 1977-1981 and still a freak for airplanes.
Thank you for your service and stay safe and healthy Sir.
good weather , visibility, wow zoom climp if only could take Capt Eddie Rickenbacker up, thanks for the ride better than rollercoster
My absolute favorite aircraft. I’ll never forget driving eastbound on I-90 in Westfield, as I approached Barnes I heard the unmistakable sound. Then almost out of nowhere an F-15 just about to touch down. I swear if my car was a convertible I could’ve reached up and touched the belly of that bird.
that was too cool to be cool! poor pilot was hanging on for dear life. "one" really does have to stay in shape too handle all those G's. Great job sir. And thanks for your service to our country.
Cant seem to get enough of these video
The F-22, F-15, and C-5 are my dream aircraft to fly.
Tim Ruskowski c-5?
PatrioticBiker C-5 Galaxy, cargo plane.
Big ass plane
Single coolest job ever
its no wonder it took off in less than 2000ft,that f15 is CLEAN, so very light
I loaded missiles on this very same aircraft (84-008) during my time spent at Langley AFB, Va. We all referred to this plane affectionately as "4 balls 8".
+coltsfanatic18 I live right near Langley and my yard is about the midpoint of the runway. I also have friends that flew this particular aircraft and know some who fly the Raptor. Thank you for serving.
+coltsfanatic18 Weapons represent! If You Ain't Ammo You're Waiting On Them!
We have a blue tail f15 in kadena with this same tail number , 4 balls 8
shortkid121.... I was in the 67th (2w171) when that jet arrived from Langley back in 2010-2011 as it started out in Red first. I was also stationed at Langley (71st "IRON"!! 03-08) when thday same jet was in repair for quite awhile due to a crash landing.
462's rule!! I was at Langley 77-81 1st TAC Fighter Wing 71st Fighter Squadron Red Branch
@5:32 You can hear him say "Left foot, don't forget it!" lol
Outstanding aircraft, loved the eagle since I was a kid and outstanding pilot 👍🏻🇺🇲
I like how this shows how the pilot has to work his body and breathing. People forget about how stressful making turns is
I also worked on the powerplant, the f100prat@wit, loved it. Loved to hear the JFS, START THE F100.
2001? This vid is almost 29 years old.
Thank You.
God Bless.
❤❤
I don't think a lot of folks don't understand how physically demanding it is to become an aviator for fighters. It's exceedingly competitive and demanding for good reason. It's not just about being in-shape, but having a contingency plan for every single maneuver you make, and a backup to that plan, in-case plan B goes wrong. Ten-thousand feet can become under a thousand real quick, so decision making has to be instant, confident, and deliberate.
F-15 Strike Eagle....just an awesome Fighter jet. Pure power and acceleration. Climb rate off the charts. Lil brother to the F-22. Seen both in action @ airshows....top 3 fighter aircraft in the world. It was built to shoot down the Rusky built Mig 25 which could hit speeds of close to Mach 3. No match for the F-15.
Wrong model. this is the f15c eagle. the strike eagle is the two seat f-15e. the Eagles are the big brother to the 22.. cause.. Bigger plane and a much older aircraft.
+Jared Hack The Eagle and the Raptor are actually fairly similar in size, although I think the Eagle is sightly larger. It's a negligible difference really. From what I know, the biggest difference is in weight. A fully loaded Raptor is much heavier than a fully loaded Eagle, although again, my knowledge may be faulted.
Regardless, this machine is one of the best fighters ever built. Powerful, agile, multifaceted in platform configuration..devestating radar capabilities...dangerous combo in the hands of a capable pilot.
+Low Tech I very much agree, and I am sad to see the Airforce spending so much to replace this aircraft, which is still very capable.
the air force announced that due to the fact of low maintenance and durability that a large portion of f 15 c and d models will be oufitted with same avionics weapons as f 22 and f 35.
STUNNING!
Man I miss flying these birds. Now I am in jumbos, It's like going from a sports car to a grey hound bus. I have to say though, the best time I have had flying was back when I was in the -15.
I always tell people that if that plane could cook and make love, I would marry it. I guess that might be part of the reason I never got married and am single to this day.
Well thats because u have not fall in love. I wish i would a men that loves what i like .😍
Thanks for ur service
F15s are insane.!!! Although my all time favorite is the f16.!!!
God bless the U.S.A., thank you all for your service!!
The F-15 Eagle is an amazing plane. They should build on it
The view form the cockpit when he makes those maneuvers looks scary. I'd hope my heart can take that kind of force. LOL. They must have excellent training to prepare these guys for those rolls and all that G-force.
A truly awesome jet fighter!
Does anyone else hear him say forget it when he's climbing in to the vertical and rolling?
Same
It sounded like tge spongebob thing "ur foot dont forget it"
5:33 yeah
I once observed F15's training off Kauai, they were doing lower speed & very rapid direction changes. I swear i saw one flip back on itself & complete a 180 direction change in mid-air, I've never seen anything like it since. I'm not sure how fast it was going before the turn, but I saw it flip over backwards and rocket off in the other direction, as though someone grabbed it by the tail end and just flipped it 180 degrees.
F15 the best we ever made
The best aircraft ever built. My opinion, but Its a hard one to debunk. Never shot down. Flawless victory!
Thanks for the demo video on this great airplane.
I love F-15 because it can fold & spread its wings. Nice to look at.
Beautiful fighter plane
Beautiful and guy is a legend
I LOVE THE EAGLES. I supported them at NELLIS AFB,GORGEOUS PLANES.
OVER G OVER G OVER G. I love how you can hear the tones and chirps in this video. I believe some of the beeping has to do with airspeed and angle of attack. I don't think they're radar related as they probably turn radar off for these shows. Someone who plays DCS or flies this thing in real life can probably explain them.
I believe the rapid beeping is either an indicator for AOA or getting close to the max g/max performance of the f-15, and obviously OVER G is, well, over g. You are right about it having nothing to do with the radar. Not an IRL pilot sadly, but I do play DCS as you guessed. I tried to look into it some more but unfortunately I couldn't find much info on it :( (There is this video, from DCS, that plays the same sound when pulling REALLY hard.) ua-cam.com/video/wJAAyJlFixQ/v-deo.html
I love ❤️ it, very great 👍, thank you everyone.
flies like magic as always
if you listen to Major Dan from min 6:38 till 6:55, take that info and add 100+ victories with 0 losses should explain the sheer awesomeness of the jet. I'm trying to imagine that jet with the electronic advancements and capabilities along with the stealth of the F22 and other upgrades how much better would it be over an already incredible jet
air force in process of doing that
All pilots have to be in tip top condition to put these and all our fighter jets through their paces!
I'm a F-14 guy but I have the upmost respect for the F-15 and it is the ONLY fighter jet to shoot down a satellite in space from within earth's atmosphere 🇺🇸👊🏼
It’s size is deceptive how very nimble it can fly. I’ve never seen a demo that displayed that characteristic like the one I saw years ago.
Same. Airshow junkie here and this group/plane beats everything i have ever seen.
My dream to be taken up in one of these, and a b17 , before my day's end
my favorite f 15 and thanks 4 posting !
2:49
If you listen very carefully you can hear Betty scream "Over G"
Bitchin Betty!
EFP Network Who's Betty?
what is over G, more then 10?
gocristi7270
it depends on the weapon and fuel load. For a typical air to air loadout it's 9 G's, I believe with 3 external fuel tanks it goes down to 6G.
Jonah Beale i cant even imagine that i think the last roller coaster i was on was 2.5 g's😂
