Why do you not follow up the first tower with another tower somewhere else like on a wood line or their next gold? Is it not worth?

I feel like making a second tower delays everything too much, you want to hit feudal in a reasonable timing to upgrade your initial tower before your opponent has textiles, if not I feel like they can just vill-pull and kill it rather easily
