  • In 2008, friends, colleagues, and fans all came together at Roy Thomson Hall to celebration the life of Oscar Peterson. The evening, curated by Peter Herrndorf and Brian Robertson, was filled with music legends from across the world, including appearances from Herbie Hancock, Quincy Jones, Monty Alexander, and OP's band members, Jeff Hamilton, Ulf Wakenius, and Dave Young. Among the friends performing that evening was Audrey Morris - a friend of OP's for close to 60 years, Audrey came in from Chicago to pay tribute to her friend with a tune that was very special to both them, You Are For Loving. We lost Audrey on April 1st, 2018, and wanted to share this video in tribute to her undeniable talent, and the beautiful soul of the woman we knew and loved so dearly.

George Shearing used to call her and ask her what he should put on an upcoming album. Her husband Stu told me that on a gig once. I was like…what?!? It was the truth of course.
