Very helpful! Thanks :)
thank you for real, about to cry thinking of this tf lol
Damn. This must be what therapy feels like. I actually shed a tear trying to complete this exercise. And most of all.. I just realised that I'm not boring at all.. If anything I'm quite interesting.. I think I would like me.. If I met me..
Wow📝 you need a nap after completing this
Wow, Hope. Couldn't have said it better myself. We've all got a story. Just takes a little digging. :)
I didn't expect it to go like this... I cried a few times and had to stop the video. This exercise helped me organize my life into simple phrases. I feel like everyone should complete this exercise even if they're not working on a college essay. THANK YOU!!! This was definitely a much needed roller-coaster.
Wow! Love that. Thanks for sharing!
my college counselor sent me this video to help me brainstorm ideas, but this hit pretty deep and I'm currently rethinking my life's choices
LOL, happens sometimes! Thanks for watching.
As I went through the questions I found that I don’t know who I am ... :(
It's never too late to start. I recommend starting with the Values Exercise: www.collegeessayguy.com/cwiab-student-15-values-exercise
I cried so much during this and really didn't think I would. This honestly felt like free therapy and brought up many memories. Thank you so much for this video, I"m definitely going to send it to my friends
Thanks for being here.
This guy saves so many lives each day
Lol!
Watching this I realized I'm not even a person lol. There is nothing interesting or deep about me. I don't have a superpower. I haven't struggled. I do really well in school, that's what I spend all my time on, but I can't write about that! "I'm smart let me in your college" lol. I get so irritated when people assume I'm this one dimensional person who just studies all the time but it's true! I'm going to watch your values video now though
Thanks for sharing! Try some more brainstorming! You likely have values, skills, qualities, and itnerests that are worth highlighting in your college essays. :)
Same. What did you end up writing about?
DONT PUT GRANDMA IN A BOX LMAO
Lol!
Wow, that was ....got no words ...before, I didn't think I have a story to tell but now hmm ...yeah I've got a lot of untold stories
Love.
A dream catcher, map, butterfly, ice pack...this was super helpful, thank you!
That's awesome. Each one of those is a story I want to hear about.
Thank you. It helped me to find ideas to write on my college essay after uploaded 5 years. It's still valuable. Good luck.
Glad it helped!
you and your wife's tradition is so cute omg
Thank you!
Great resource. I explored so many unknown things about me and my values. I got a glimpse of how people view me. Thank you so much.
Love that!
This really works. I am shook.
Lol! Glad it helped.
It seems like a lot of these are so personal that I wouldn't want to share them with the vast majority of people, let alone the people reading my college application. Question: what if you're so boring you have nothing to write about?
Colleges want to get an idea of the skills, qualities, values, and interests you'll bring with you to the school as an incoming student. Sometimes, a good way to do this is by showcasing vulnerability, but there are also other ways. It's OK if you don't want to dig too deep into your personal life in your applications. As long as you can provide insight into who you are and what values you possess, your application will be doing its job. Hope this helps!
Just saying, your friendship bracelet is probably the best object possible to represent the amazing relationship you have with your wife. I'm so confused about this exercise though, what do we do if we can answer your brainstorming questions but can't exactly think of an object to describe it?
It's OK if you can't think of an object for each question. Maybe that even means there's some insight to illuminate there, i.e....you don't value material possessions, but instead, X. Thanks for watching!
This video's got me all depressed. Unexpected...
Entirely
Aw shucks. Sorry to hear that.
Yeah me too
Your videos are extremely helpful. Thank you so much!
You're welcome!
Dang, I feel like I just left another plane of reality
I guess I should have listed that as a potential side-effect. :)
In an alternate universe, you’re for sure a therapist
8:08 damn bro I could've gotten 20 objects just from that question (/s)
Nice. Magical, right?

Love it. Thanks for sharing!

Write a rough draft for a couple topics and go from there!
I am just a crap. Even here I have nothing to write, my life is a big crap
Disagree. Keep pushing. Take a look at some more of my brainstorming exercises. You may have not found the right one for you yet.
Can't think of any objects :(
That's OK! Check out some of our other brainstorming exercises. Not all of them will be applicable to everyone, so hopefully you find one that is generative and relevant to your experience.
i know im cooked cus i couldn't even answer any of these questions..
You got this. Sometimes you need to be in the right headspace for brainstorming. Try again later and/or try different exercises! I have tons more on my channel/website.
