Our people have fought against a lot of enemies even before the Christ. You may think it's racist against another races, it's not, it's just the spirit that built-in our DNA.
We have about 2269 years of the country's history, that we have to defend our country (Aka time at war) for 1474 years, which mean we only live in peace for 795 years.

On its side there were over one and a half million troops of its lackeys such as the Saigon regime, Australia, South Korea, Thailand, Philippines,... The US had limitless firepower and logistic support against essentially a peasant army but if you look up the FACTS of total casualties of both sides (death + wounded), they are about the same. Remember you must also put in the equation the casualties of US' lackeys'. Vietnamese side's casualties have more death than wounded (while US+ lackeys have more wounded than death) because they didn't have medical airlift. The 3 millions that you're bragging actually includes 2 millions civilians. If the US could kill 3 millions Viet troops, they would have won decisively. That's the goal they set but couldn't achieve. The US deliberately mass murdered countryside civilians to terrorize and force them to relocate themselves to the cities where the US had total control and so they couldn't support the VCs. There's no glory in being terrorists so stop bragging!

Actually, Vietnam history go as far back as almost 5000 years, while China is a little over 4000 years with the Xia dynasty. The Xia era is still very questionable by many historians. The Viet people have their own self identity that goes deep and for thousands of years. That is why the Viets were the only people to break away from the annexation by China unlike the other people which all got absorbed into the expanded nation of China. Skills in warfare is another reason for their success.

From Texas always wanted to visit Vietnam from a History buff but also because it is so beautiful and the people seem so nice. What I think has to happen is that India, Japan, Australia, Taiwan, and Philippines need to sign a defensive treaty to curb CCP invasion.
Vietnam could have been mad at the US for awhile and they had every right to be but they chose to live and forget... they didn’t hold a grudge for a long time like other countries would respect from the US to Vietnam
