@PaulRansonArt another one for your to do list Paul lol ,and that list is getting longer every week I'm sure of it ! I'm still treading water with the TURTLE 🐢 lol 🐈🐈⬛🐶
Thanks a bunch Yovette. Yes, the cardboard trick came in useful when we used to do outdoor events on hot days. The paints would litrally melt on the palette. Braking snow was almost impossible unless it was like cream cheese! Have a great painting week too! 🥰😎
Thank you kindly! It was fun repainting a scene from yesteryear. I may have to go back and look at some more of my back catalogue. I'm sure there are a few more candidates - Have a great rest of the week 🤩😃
Thank you so much for your kind comments. Its a joy to be able to share what little I've learned over the years of teaching. Now I;'ve learned how to make videos the sky's the limit! See you for more painting fun soon 😎
Thank you Hugh. I'm hoping to expand on the 'whats next' theme of painting after Bob Ross. Still using most if not all his colours but pushing the boundaries. This Sunday will be another test - Big Skies 😃😎
Yes Escape to the Country is great if you are stuck in the City! This is a lovely painting and follows what Bob always said about taking his camera with him wherever he went! Is there more info on drying your oils - when and when not to? I am stuck at home with bronchitis so enjoying as many of your You Tube entries. THANK YOU
Hi, yes its a lovely program to escape the riggors of life. My camera ( now my phone of course ) is my constant companion. Whilst I'm not a tech savvy person, the inclusion of video on a phone is simply wonderful. Now for when and when not to dry oils. This is very much a when and if sort of subject. When painting a wet on wet oil painting like Bob would do its a wet high light sticking to a dry dark underpainting. If your trying to get texture then thin oily paints dont play well with the palette knife hence the need to dry the paint. I might also add dry highlights to a very textured dry painting. Again they stick better using a palette knife. Give it a try next time you have some paint left over from a painting. Dry it out and have some fun with an abstract scene. Hope your feeling better soon. If your in the UK the blasted weathers not been much fun so keep indoors - Best wishes Paul 😍😎
Hi Paul 🤗 what a great lesson in painting details and little touches. Together it made such a happy painting that is inspiring and so appealing. The trees have been a challenge for me lately and the tips here have helped solve many problems for me. Thank you! I never thought to have multiple layers of highlights and of course it makes sense. So cool! Your lessons always open up for me new obtainable ways to improve and make paintings more and more fun. It’s like you have found the one puzzle piece that was missing for a long time! Now it’s back to my autumnal tree landscape canvas again- thanks!
Your welcome Stephanie - its great to be able to share and pass on the tips and tricks I've learned. They're not all mine and I have to say a big thank you to all those who have inspired and taught me over the years. Have fun with trees in future. 😍😎
Absolutly Violet. You have a great name for an artists so I hope your dreams come true. Just don't wait too long to get started. I've learned that waiting for the perfect moment to start anything dosen't exist. Just start simple with a few pencils and a pad. 😍😎
😂😂🤣🤣 no offence taken. I always think of myself as a kid that never grew up. I hope never to be too old to laugh more especially at myself. Maybe one day I'll make it but not too soon. You have a great day and enjoy being young too - best wishes Paul 😋😋🤩🤩@@mirankordic9047
@@PaulRansonArt Thank you Paul. Best wishes to you too as well. I hope you stay well and young as long as possible, paint more beutiful paintings make more videos and get lots of subscribers. If more people would paint, world would be a more joyfull place.
A wonderful little charming place. Another fantastic tutorial. Exactly what I need, it's been a really busy week and I haven't been able to paint for the past few weeks. But your tutorials and videos always help me. Thank you for that. Watching your videos, I always remember how beautiful and fun it is to paint. I really like this picture. By the way when I asked about the leveling brushes. I was wondering if they used brushes of a different material. Such as a badger or a goat hair. Or synthetic. I look forward to the next project and wish you happy painting and a pleasant week. P.S. The tiny houses in the distance look lovely. They remind me of the feeling of home.
Oh yes I did wonder if I had it right. I usually use a Bob Ross 1" brush - they were natural bristle - but these can be expensive. Look for a soft synthetic 1" brush made with Taklon bristles. Usually pale gold in colour. They work well and last ages. Even a small painting like this can be done over a few sessions. I'll paint some more of these smaller paintings for folk who are busy. Have a hopefully less busy week. I look forward to inspiring you again soon and try your best to get painting. Where is home for you? 🤔😎
@@PaulRansonArt. Home is in my hart, that's something i believe in but they remind me of that feeling when you're at home. And yes, the first answer was helpful as well. Thank you for the advice. I'll definitely take a look. I asked because I'm always looking for a new way to improve my painting. And on one occasion, Buck Paulson said that he uses a badger brush, and that it is good for evening out, and I tried a goat hair brush, so I was interested in your opinion. Thanks again for the reply. They are always helpful. Hope you gonna have a nice week. See you soon or better say, write to you soon.
Our green and pleasant land its gorgeous more like this please paul
Sounds like a plan 😍😎

You and Bob Ross make me really want to paint! Maybe one day when I have the money and space, I'll have to come back to your chill tutorials :D

Thanks for watching - p.s. I've lived a hard life - I'm a teenager at heart! 😎😋😊😉
@@PaulRansonArt Ment no disrespect, "old" is not derogatory. It is as title and privilege. Means you made it. I want to be old one day too :D
