I’m so happy Bob put a puddle in there. I was really starting to get worried whether or not the birds were gonna have a place to drink. He’s the true hero
I started painting after seeing Bob Ross. My first ever painting was from one of his shows; didn't came out perfect, but good enough to encourage me to continue on something I never thought to have talent in. After a while I started taking classes of various techniques, including the academic method from the 18th and 19th century. I don't paint after Bob Ross anymore, but it's always a pleasure to watch him and I'll be forever grateful to him for opening this world for me.
good on you 🙂 I’ve been painting my whole life. Decided to try a Bob Ross style with acrylics. No easy feat as acrylics dry faster than oils. But I managed to pop out a happy little painting. I then decided to do a few more. I love painting in his style.
Oh, Bob, you were blessed with the most soothing voice and demeanour. I hope you're happily painting off the clouds in heaven, with other wonderful geniuses who left us for the unknown heights...

I could watch Bob on loop all day, chuckling and saying "beat the devil outta it". Always gets me. What a true gentleman and one of life's genuinely nice people. Taken far too soon: (
I too could watch Bob all day. I have been wanting to learn how to paint for a long time. The thing is that I just don't have the time in my schedule to do it
Agreed! Been watching him since I was a little girl. His voice has always been a source of comfort, and his talent and positive teaching techniques the reason I too am an artist. ❤
Bob has been gone for 21 years. I wonder if it was his painting technique or his calm demeanor and his love of life and voice that left a legacy and turned an Alaskan drill sergeant into a painting legend.
He wasn't a drill sergeant "Ross enlisted in the United States Air Force at 18 years old and served as a medical records technician.[3]:15 He eventually rose to the rank of master sergeant and served as the first sergeant of the U.S. Air Force Clinic at Eielson Air Force Base in Alaska,[5][6] where he first saw the snow and mountains that later became recurring themes in his artwork. He developed his quick-painting technique to create art for sale during brief daily work breaks.[6] Having held military positions that required him to be, in his own words, "tough" and "mean", "the guy who makes you scrub the latrine, the guy who makes you make your bed, the guy who screams at you for being late to work", Ross decided that if he ever left the military, he would never scream again"
People who are stressed out or suffer from insomnia don't need Xanax or Ambien, they just need to chill with some Bob Ross videos. Fascinating, soothing, almost hypnotic. Bob is good for whatever ails you.
I remember being a kid, when I would be home sick from school, one of my favorite things to do was watch Bob Ross. I got my bowl of chicken noodle soup, layed out on the couch, watch him paint, listen to him talk, and pass out.
I remember my sick days being like this as well. I had no idea that I was watching one of the most peaceful and inspirations painters; I just knew I enjoyed it.
To the people who thumbed down I feel like Ross would say: "Oh, that's okay some people thumbed down. My painting may just not be for everyone. And some people just have a different creative wiring in them and that's alright."
When they posted all the photos from paintings of people who watch, who have just recently started and never had lessons, I couldn’t stop smiling! All the opportunities he’s creating for people, the joy, all the confidence. That’s such an important thing.
Whenever i feel sad i watch him paint. It gives me the greatest satisfaction. I am not even a painter cant even draw a tree. But painting is something magical. It reminds you about creation it makes you a theist for a while

Imagine listening to Bob Ross one day and suddenly you see your painting on the screen and hear him saying “I’m so proud of them for doing this.” I might actually cry.
His voice is hypnotic. You can just feel the day's tension fading away with the gentle caress of his words. Love his paintings, but love him more. Wish he was still with us.
I think some of the many reasons why Bob Ross is sooooooooooo relaxing is because: 1. His voice is the most soothing I’ve ever heard come out of a human being. 2. His vocabulary is so unique and lovable and happy. 3. The paint brushes pushing and the knife scraping against the canvas. 4. When ever he paints, no matter what part of the video he’s at, it always looks beautiful!!
Bob Ross - a precious gift whose legend endures, even in the darkness of his absence, we find is only the shade of a happy little tree. What a sweet fantasy to live in a world of his velvety creation.
The line from the song Starry Night: "this world was never meant for one as beautiful as you" always pops into my head when I watch Bob Ross. He seemed like such a nice, positive person!
Watching Bob Ross paint is how I find my Inner Zen. I love his soothing voice, optimistic dialogue as well as the sounds of the brushes and the painting knives.
It's so amazing how he can make anything he imagines and make it look so realistic too. The knowledge of light and form and perspective and color make every piece so amazing. The realism of each scene always surprises me and it makes me want to paint scenes I've seen in dreams and things.
Bob has given me an appreciation for this method of doing things I think many of us including myself have lost because of technology. It's essentially meditation. Has helped during my opioid (Suboxone) withdrawal the past week to just leave his channel on autoplay. Don't forget too guys, Bob was in the military for like half his life... I think this man should be respected as more than just some pop culture icon with an ASMR triggering voice.. but as an enlightened individual. Just my two cents. Take care.

Bob was a realist as far as his paintings went; we can see that as to his realisation that his paintings would never hang in major galleries, whereas, it takes a gift to be creative as to what you see as the natural world and this one dispells the myth that he was a painter and not an artist as he was one of the most talented people as to working out just what to include in a painting. The one reason I follow these is to gather sources of what to paint because as yet, I don't feel talented enough to know what to paint but when I see Bob paint, I am now starting to think along the lines of 'I know what would look good there' and it is only through these trips into the world of nature that I am now able to believe more in myself than ever before.
I love how he make everything he paints have a personality. He says don't KILL all the dark, "here LIVES a HAPPY little bush", and it makes me feel so much more engaged
Oh the nostalgia. Watching tv used to be different. An entire program had your focus for the duration of that program. There was so much more concentration ..
He had no idea how his legacy would go on & on, and how much the generations would continue to love him. Watched him on PBS in the 80s. Looked forward to 5 pm on Sunday because of him. ❤
I miss this man. Late 70s early 80s.... we would take our tri-annual trips to Yosemite and Sequoia. We would watch him on the TV while staying at the Swiss Melody Inn. With both parents gone now....his voice is my flux- Capacitor. Thanks guys🤙😎🤙
My 14 year old son uses Bob's videos to relax after school and to fall asleep at night. Like ASMR. It's awesome. There are so many worse things he could be putting in his head. I asked him yesterday if he was learning any technique for painting and he said, "Yeah, I am, a little." Good. I'll take Bob Ross any day.
“I’m certainly glad you could join us today because I thought today we’d just have a fantastic time” Well I certainly can’t pass up a fantastic time with Bob
I'm convinced that somewhere in Heaven Bob is having tea with Gene Wilder dressed as Willie Wonka and they are making all the angels and little children laugh and sing.
So damn inspirational. "Don't try to just copy exactly what we're doing here, cause your puddles won't look like these puddles, they'll look better"

This man inspires me as an artist and as a person
The world could all use some Bob right now. I started painting a year ago so therapeutic
that puddle gave me a huge smile. It's amazing how it just formed. :)
I dont understand how anyone can thumb down these series, seriously
one of the best paintings i have seen him do ,, thankyou Bob for your legacy 💚,,
I don’t know why the devil tries to hide in Bob’s brush, when he gets caught every time
Bob 🎨🖼Ross Gone But Not Forgotten God Rest 🙏his Soul 😇
Cut straight across and get the little roll of paint.
HE IS SO PURE, HE NAMED THE LIL BUSHES!! 😂❤️👌
Bob was the man! His painting amazed me in the 90s and still do today
“I’m certainly glad you could join us today because I thought today we’d just have a fantastic time”
Well I certainly can’t pass up a fantastic time with Bob
Gift from God Bob. Bringing many people a great deal of pleasure!
I'm convinced that somewhere in Heaven Bob is having tea with Gene Wilder dressed as Willie Wonka and they are making all the angels and little children laugh and sing.
4mySweetheart369 I agree brother
4mySweetheart369 Willy wonka is a villain. You knew that, right?
@@1ZosoLZ Willy Wonka isn't a villain or a hero. Just a man.
Where's Mr. Rogers?
I enjoy Bob's gentleness as much as I do his paintings
He speaks positivity into me as i sleep ♥️
Man i remembered him when i was in the philippines and i was like 5 years old. I always watch his paintings around 2 pm all the time.
