This was super helpful. More tips for resizing images: Copy the size that you like and then right click in the copied image and select replace image. The new image will be sized correctly.
I'm trying to learn how to take the powerpoint(which already has click and drag elements) and have students be able to manipulate it while I watch. Its for an assessment so I have to be able to view but I want them to have control of the choice making/clicking and dragging. I've looked up Jamboard and Nearpod but no luck.
will the images still be re-sizable by the students, when they view the worksheet? And will they have all of the editing menus around the outside? Or will they just have the sheet it's self, and the images are movable, but the little blue boxes around the outside of the image do not show up?
I don't have google classroom, but I have tried to make a sorting activity before using google slides and then sharing the link with students. But I ran into the issue that kids will double click on what they want to move and either make it disappear or resize the picture they are moving. Do you have any advice how to work around this?
This may sound dumb... so once they’ve sorted they just hit share and it’ll share back to me? Could I grade it if I wanted to? Can’t they go back in and move stuff around after they’ve turned it in though?
Ashley Shelton it depends on how you assign it. If you use google classroom and they turn it in there, they cannot make any changes after they submit it. You grade it and return it. If they just share it back with you then they can make any changes that they want. You could always check the version history to see if changes were made after it was submitted. I just made a new video about drag and drop activities ua-cam.com/video/S4U-8X4zKEs/v-deo.html
Ashley Shelton are you creating a new assignment? Watch the new tutorial I linked above. That one shows exactly how to assign this kind of activity in GC.
If I want the students to only drag and drop not accidentally resize the items (which, in your case were an octopus and an umbrella), is there a way to make them a fixed size?
So helpful. I was even able to create word labels (saved them as JPGs from tiny slides) to drag to a motherboard for my high school students to help them review the parts of the motherboard. Very cool.
For some reason, my students cannot drag and drop. I saved the background as png, uploaded it to new google slides, and added my "Drag and drop" letters... then I uploaded that same google slides file to google classroom, any suggestions?
Hi, this was great. Is there a way to "activate" something so if the students puts the item in the wrong column - it alerts the student? I apologize if the question doesn't even make sense. Thank you
I make it on PowerPoint 365. You can move objects/ pics/ texts in Slideshow mode in PowerPoint ua-cam.com/video/-7gnmRxnteA/v-deo.html Thank Ez EdTech.
Hi, I made one of these for a rounding activity. I used shapes with numbers typed in for students to drag down to the correct spot on the grid. How do I lick the shape so they can drag it but they cannot edit it? Thanks for all you do!
Hi, if I made this on a google slide, will it transfer over to nearpod? If not, how do you reccomend I share? Can I just give kids the link? My school does not use google classroom. Thanks
Is there a way to restrict student's access to resize the objects, I find that when they're dragging the items they often end up changing the image and it can be frustrating for them.
My version of ppt. doesn't let me do your PNG without exporting. When I do open a new presentation to insert the slide as the background, it keeps moving. What am I doing wrong?
Great Video Thanks! Is it possible when zooming with a small group to have the activity on the teacher's screen and the students can drag and drop using their screens? As a total group activity.
You can do that, when you teach via Zoom, u can make students move the objects themselves. you can try watching this one. You can move objects/ pics/ texts in Slideshow mode in PowerPoint ua-cam.com/video/-7gnmRxnteA/v-deo.html
Great video. How could I make the instructions with sound. Some of my students can't read independently. How can I add a sound bite to explain the directions? We are using Google Classroom in our district.
I am looking to purchase a new laptop for the 2020-21 school year. My school is going to be using google g suite as a major platform. What laptops are you using to work in the google classroom? Anyone use Apple?

@@EZEdTech hi techie. I have been searching so many vdos but the way u say it n explain ,now it is clear to me . is there a way to earn money through these interactive activities.plz suggest
Reema Zanerny I’m not sure. We aren’t allowed to use zoom in my district but I’d imagine you can present it but then the students would have to tell you what to do while you control the screen.
Sylvia Long I really don’t know the answer to that. We are a google school so I don’t have access to other systems to test it out in. Thanks for your support! Check out my newest video. It’s also about drag and drop activities.
OK, so I followed this step by step (all except the assigning it to classroom part) and when I showed it off to my child in slides, I could drag and drop the picutres only in edit mode, not in present mode. Is that as it should be? I panicked a little! This is exactly the sort of snarl I get into when I create things for classroom!
thanks for sharing this! really helpful for us. && /but i want to learn how to create an interactive worksheet that allows students to choose their answer from a multiple choice by just clicking. Can you teach us how... :)
What I never understand is how to get it so the little ones do not resize or scale the images. It really frustrates them.

Fantastic!!!!
Now, our imagination is the limit!!!

You can also do that with Master Slides by going to View and clicking on Master..... but this works too.

EZ EdTech! That’s exactly how I’ll use it. that is super good to know!! Thank you so much for the response!
Ashley Shelton no problem! Just make sure to make a copy for each student in GC!
EZ EdTech! The make a copy for every student isn’t showing an option on mine. Only “student can edit file” or “student can view file is on there” 😭

@@EZEdTech Thank you for confirming this bummer...
Not sure if this has been answered, but is there a way to 'hide' the item once it is dropped into the correct category?
will they still be able to move the boxes to sort in. I have major issues with that.
Not if you put it in the background!
So helpful. I was even able to create word labels (saved them as JPGs from tiny slides) to drag to a motherboard for my high school students to help them review the parts of the motherboard. Very cool.

Very simple, clear, and easy instruction. Thanks for explaining every step. This was very helpful.

We do not use classroom . Is it possible to save the ppt and upload it for use any other way?
Have you tried Pear Deck. That is another Useful tool I like to use. You should search it up.

Sorry for my ignorance but what software is this? I don't recognise it. Also, how did you video yourself? Which programme did you use?

No, you can't do. It would be great though!

Mike Herring no problem! It is my pleasure. Unfortunately, in slides there is no way to lock the shape.
@@EZEdTech I used a Bitmoji image with numbers! That worked perfectly!

strawberry8343 unfortunately, no there’s not a way to lock the image size in slides. They could use undo to go back to the original size.
@@EZEdTech Thanks!
@Krushna Hmm okay, I'm not sure I understand exactly what you mean but I will attempt it
Does this work on an iPad? I have shared it to Google Classroom but students can't move the pieces. What am I doing wrong?
Does it have to go to classroom to work? Can they do it by watching your slideshow?
they each have to have their own copy for it to work. they have to be able to edit.
I downloaded it into Schoology and it will not let us drag and drop. Does it have to be for Google Classroom only and not Schoology?
i'm not sure. i've never used schoology.
Great video...
But I'm not sure about the program that you used.. Is it power point?
It is google slides
Thank you so much for sharing! I was wondering if you could share how you get your cursor/pointer to behave that way? Is it an app? Thank you
I record in screencastomatic. It does that automatically.

for commersial use!?

Will this work in zoom ?
Un known you could share your screen and do it in zoom but they wouldn’t each have their own copy to work on.
Great! Thanks for the information. Can I use this on Seesaw?
Claudia Barros I don’t use seesaw but I don’t think you can. I think interactive activities have to be created from within seesaw.
Resize using a corner and it keeps the proportions correct.
Awesome. Thank you, I really want to make some specifically for my class.
