Renewing the Exeter Cathedral Quire

A more efficient underfloor heating system and improvements to the High Altar will make the
Cathedral a safer and more comfortable place for services, community gatherings and events, help
preserve our heritage and will also shrink our carbon footprint. Once this new system is in place, the
new Jubilee Pavement floor design will be installed. The Jubilee Pavement will be based on the design
by 19th century architect, Sir George Gilbert Scott that was removed during conservation work in the
1960s. Only one of Scott’s original pavements remains in the Quire today.
