  • Double pocket doors can often be a pain to operate, but not this Sugatsune hardware. This is a synchronized set that soft-closes in both directions! Find more about this hardware at this link: bit.ly/2kUAZK7. Or visit www.Sugatsune.com

How do you actually open the doors--by wedging your fingers to try and separate the doors? I've got heavy double doors with glass inset and we're trying to figure out how to lock them for privacy.

What do I need to know about the bottoms of the doors with this system? Is there a gap between the doors and the floor? Just concerned about how much noise prevention I can get by using this system with solid core doors in my home and want to make sure they aren't dragging as they move or aren't too high off the ground either...

The instructions are very limited with no verbiage only illustrations. I found five errors on drawings. Does not include allen wrenches or extra wrench for adjustment. Been in business for 25 years and find this very time consuming expect 8-10 hours of installation time, not including framing and drywall time.

Very nice. Love the synchro opening and soft-close. Very helpful installation tips. Have a place for 3 sets of these closers

Looks great, but does that hardware you keep showing say Saheco? Isn't that different company entirely?

Well, the box says Sugatsune, but the parts are stamped Saheco, hmmm?

Matt - How do you deal with the need for a good level install when you build on expansive soils in the Austin area? I am looking at Sugatsune hardware for two double-pocket doors in Mississippi, which has problems with expansive soil as well. Thanks in advance!

I Agree! How do you close them once they are opened since they are hidden flush in the wall?

I just installed converging pocket doors by Johnson Hardware. The soft open/close should fix the issue you bring up. At least I hope.

Does anyone know what an approximate costs for this system would be (just Sugatsune material)? I have heard about $1,200 list price, does that seem right?

Aaron Ross low cost is about $500 and high cost is about $3500

if you want pocket doors that will last forever then you'll need to purchase early 19th century antique pocket door hangers. in the northeast there are a lot of early victorian homes well over 100 years old and the pocket doors still work like new

No. But Hafele does. You can telescope 2, 3, or 4 doors at once!

I wonder if you could add a nice-looking wood header trim above the door opening that could be removed fairly easily to allow for belt replacement in the future.

This looks great, but I am concerned about the belt. Ozone and other chemicals can degrade many materials used to make a belt. Hopefully it's made of something more resistant, e.g.a perflouranated elastomer. I'd hate to use anything that wouldn't last a very long time since it looks hard to service.

Would prefer the doors to be hung after drywall. I think there would be to much moisture from drywall spraying that may hinder the integrity of the door.

garbage product. How long will they last before something breaks and not operate as it should? 10-20 years maybe? companies should just remake the original early 19th century hardware. In the northeast you find pocket doors that are well over 100 years old and still work like a boss! Any roller with ball bearing suck
