This is what made John Sullivan a writing genius he never let it get revealed too early what the main punchline was. He let it build up perfectly and then boom it was revealed at the right moment . Writing calibra we will never see the likes of again
Incredible scene. We knew something funny was coming but when it did it was class. First time seeing this I was crying with laughter 😂
@@caseyfalconer7347 Many, lesser shows would have just had Tony Angelino's 'cheesy pub singer' as the punchline, and first time viewers of this probably expectd that was it, until the cwying started! Comedy gold!
I feel the same about the whole series nothing will come close , to Hull an back was still my favourite
@@caseyfalconer7347you mean ‘cwying with laughter’ 😂
I remember my dad telling me about this bit. I just thought, oh I'll wait until I watch it. Let's just say I couldn't breathe, and cwied my eyes out laughing when it came up 😂
Only fools is a natural anti depresant. Anytime your feeling low, just watch an episode and your frown will turn upside down :)
My goodness, how right you are. Only Fools and One Foot in the Grave.
@@SaltyReward I don't believe it!- Victor Meldrew
@@SaltyReward one foot in the grave. Obviously. 😂
You've hit the nail o the head there cheif? I've struggled with anxiety too ! And you are 100% on that note.🙂🙃😉💯
And I agree with you in Jan 2024. My favourite sitcom😂
Raquel trying to get him to say Crying and slipping up herself saying it 😂😂😂
I think that's a genuine and unscripted mistake... she saved it well and it's hilarious.
You Meant Waquel !!
😂😂😂
The one-two punch of Del Boy mouthing "Cwying?!" in outrage, followed by Raquel having to hurriedly backspace "Cwying" to "Crying" fully takes me out every time
I always thought he was mouthing "Rodney" hehehe
I wasn't sure if that was intentional or not!!!
We will never see such writing , acting or comedy ever again .
When Raquel says "Cwing". Had me in stitches. I always wondered if that was intentional or accidental. Either way this is one of the most iconic scenes in the show.
Pure quality comedy at its best. Had me dying with laughter the first time I see it
Whenever she sings “Crying” very firmly, she sounds like she’s trying to correct Tony’s pronunciation.
If only they had released it on single. It would have been Number 1 in the charts for weeks 👍🏻👍🏻😁
On Top of the pops. Battling for number 1 with that bunch of Wollys😂
@@caseyfalconer7347 Good one 😂😂😂
Everytime I hear this song I think of this episode 🤣🤣🤣 absolutely priceless 👌🤣
Pwiceless!!!😊😅
Classic Sullivan, the genius that he was. One of the show’s best moments!
So funny, and I always thought that the writers were particularly clever in finding a song which didn't expose Tony's short tongue until the chorus.
Comedy quality at its finest. I always come back to this episode when I’m in need of a good laugh 😂
I love the scene in the dressing room where he transforms from Tony Angelino, complete with huge salami sausage down his pants, into the little ferret faced dude he really was. If you watch this scene and the dressing room scene for the first time, you're in for a treat. Just don't expect to stop laughing any time soon.
Yes, he walks out in a donkey jacket looking like a bloke who works on the bins, and all the women outside just blank him!
Mattesons could have used Tony in their TV Commercials, would have been hilarious 👍🏻👍🏻😁
Absolute genius, I really miss Sunday nights as a teenager watching this anf everyone roaring in laughter.
It's Rodney's facial expressions that get me 🤣🤣
So many times Del pushed him into something he would have to take the fall for that would be his fault. Satisfying indeed to see Rodney smirking at Del failing
One of many times Rodney would be like "I told you that would happen."
I was in stitches and nearly Cwying!
Cracks me up in the chorus when Raquel also makes the mistake. 😂
"CRYING!!!" 😂😂😂
Fantastic episode! One of the best! Brilliant writing, leaving the viewer waiting to near the end for Tony’s ‘Pwonounciation’ problem. ‘I want my money Mr Twotter’ Sullivan was a genius
Only Fools & Horses
1000/1000 Outstanding
1000/1000 Funny
1000/1000 Never Gets Old such a classic comedy
A moment in time. This great comedy show can never be recreated & never should be.
The way he strutted out on the stage LMAO
This is the genius of this show. They set up Tony has a problem earlier but don't tell us what it is. Then they bring on Raquel who sings beautifully. On comes Tony who is singing well then BOOM, punchline and hysterics ensue. Most other comedies would have gone straight for the punchline but the writers knew how to hold the joke until it drops at the perfect moment.
really...
My favourite episode.
Not a single person in this scene who doesn't absolutely nail it !!! 😅😅
Gold-dust. One of the top ten moments in British sitcom. The gag is perfectly timed, perfectly executed and perfectly filmed.
As the scene builds you can see Rodney and Raquel genuinely struggling to keep a straight face when altho us viewers didnt know what was coming, they did.
Absolutely brilliant, will never be bettered imo.
I think her saying cw-crying might actually be a mistake they just left in.
Me & My Family Were CWYING Ourselves With Laughter Watching This, It Never Get Old
I don't think even Jonathan Ross would be offended. If anything he's most likely laughing 😃 his head off everytime he watches it 🤣
Stage Fright.
My favourite episode😂
Waquel and Wodney😂😂😂
I love the small but ever growing smirk from Rodney as it builds up to the first Cwying
There is some great British comedy but only fools and horses just had it all
I remember the night this was first shown on TV. Oh god did we laugh!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
We still are even though we've seen it dozens of times it's still one of the funniest moments in british comedy history.
Incredible. Know what's coming but still brings a smile. Sullivan was so gifted.
Even though I have seen this countless time it still makes me laugh out loud.
Never gets old this show 😂
The first time I watched this I was laughing so much I was crying 😂
only fools and horses will never get old
It's such a shame that they never showed the medley of wock 'n' woll 😆
I wish they'd sung that Neil Diamond song Wambling Wose!
@@thefurrybastard1964 Or Cwacklin Wosie.
Dels face when tony starts singing
Where did he get all that crap from?!
Rodney looks at del smirking
What a stupid question😂😂
🎶 cur WHYING cur WHYING 🎶 they don’t make em like that anymore 🤣
Just amazing. Its a shame that writing nowadays feels so rushed and forced, whereas this builds perfectly without having ti resort to something shocking or offensive. Just genius. Its amazing how it's hilarious the first time you ever watch it and then remains funny for the next 500 times you watch it! Amazing.
Ha ha ha. Still makes me laugh and I’ve watched it 1000’s of times. Classic 😭😂😂😂😂😂
Never a bad episode, love it !!! When comedy was clever, funny and naturally written without the need for constant swearing and poor direction.
Genius
Thanks for posting
Better days sadly passed, but never forgotten 😆👍
There was one bad episode Miami twice
Absolutely superb comedy and they also finished it at the right time. The one disappointing thing was when they were visiting Mums grave I feel they should have visited Uncle Albert and Grandad too. They played such an enormous part in the series.
@@gazowen7310the Christmas where Rodney meets lady Victoria was poor . Really poor . I felt for Rodney in it
This is still brilliant, gets me smiling everytime I watch it 😁👍
I remember it on TV - bellyfull of laughs. 😀
This is still brilliant gets me smiling eveytime I watch it 😁👍⭐
Only smiling? I can’t stop cwying with laughter
@@FNL77 😂
This is one of the best comedy clips ever written. John Sullivan was a genius!
The scene when an entire nation cwwied with laughter. John Sullivan, RIP mate, and thank you.
Even though we knew what was coming…we roared with laughter 👍
I almost died laughing at this. The comedy acting genius of both Raquel and Tony is beyond compare...just brilliant!😊.
I like it how Rodney tries to tell Del Boy about Tony having a problem pronouncing his r's properly, but all Del Boy's bothered about was his court case.
I love how they sang two verses of "Happy birthday" to Eugene McCarthy's mum, and Del and Rodney keep singing it, after everybody else had stopped.
The reaction on the owner's face was hilarious 😂😂😂
That subtle flip where an increasingly annoyed Raquel tries to correct Tony’s pwonunciation mid-song only for it to backfire and have her accidentally sing “cw...crying.” instead.
I still remember the first time seeing this, I was in tears from the sausage scene 🤣 i guess it did have me cwying too! 😂
A great episode. I never stopped laughing. I actually liked raquel singing in this scene she sounded really nice
"I'll see you later" 😂😂
I have to admit that I laughed my socks off when this was first broadcast on BBC TV. Del Boy at his scheming best...or worst!😊.
“How can I change the lywics to ‘Cwying’, the bloody songs called ‘Cwying’?”
It dosnt matter how many times I watch this it's always funny
You know it's coming, you know the punchline.....but god it's still funny 😂😂😂😂
This will be the most memorable musical scene in my mind.
One of the best episodes.
Hilarious!! 🤣🤣🤣
“Where did he get all this crap from ?? “ “what a stupid question “.
Crying gotta be one of the funniest scenes in tv history 🤣🤣🤣
CWYING !!!
I liked the bit before this…
Boycie: The last person who did him in, was nailed to the nearest door.
Del: Well I’ll make sure it’s good.
Boycie: It’ll save him another trip to B&Q for another door.
What's worse is there WAS actually many pubs and clubs with entertainment like it !! My dad had a pub, jazz bands and singers & Crooners!! Audiences members would get called up to do a Frank Sinatra or Barbara Streisand.. Everyone is in Sunday best, adorned with Gold ID bracelets, sovereign rings etc !! Roast potatoes and peanuts on the bar. Frankie Fraser had his own "perch" 🤣 even in a packed pub, the one empty reserved barstool, no one wanted the ag of arguing over it ! One day thinking it would be good to do a talent show competition.... It didn't end well, lots of pushy mums and teenage tantrums ! There was always a "headline act" someone who'd been on New Faces or Opportunity Knocks !! They would do a very short set before rushing off to the next pub!! Stardom was different in them days !! Bucks Fizz, Jim Davidson, someone off The Comedians like Mike Reid !!
Cwying! I can't stop laughing at this, so frickin brilliant! lol!
2:19 his "What!" is just so brilliant and out of place!😂😂😂
Can't stop crying with laughter brilliant .
* cwying
Woy owbisin must have spinning in his gwave waaaffin lol (sowwee)
The part that gets me is his first line and his over the top Elvis style tone, "I thought that IIIII" 😅
My favourite ever moment on TV. Best programme EVER 👌 🎉
So funny, shes a great singer and such a beauty. Hes is so funny.
She's not a singer - but far less bad than him!
@@maybethistimenow she is a good singer don't contact me again or otherwise im reporting you.
Before the medley of Wok and Woll! 🤣🤣🤣
She can actually sing and has a good voice
I just watched it again was in stiches just brilliant lol
i cry with laughing every time i watch this, brilliant writing, brilliant acting and yes bwilliant singing,
Do you mean "cwy" with laughter? 🤣
One of greatest episodes
When no one took offence to anything and was able to laugh 😂!!! Also when TV was worth watching!!!!
I just love this bit so much
First time seeing this crew; Funny. I love the non-applause
Still funny after all these years !
Needed a good laugh before heading off to work and I got it 🤣
I remember seeing this on television back then it was hilarious
Absolutely brilliant writing, and concept.
It's a Brilliant episode
Best ever timeless
I watched this episode one day, to see if any words with the letter R were ever said from the singer, and there wasn't any. Shows how well thought out it was.
Best TV moment ever
Love this episode 🤣🤣🤣
I'm cwying with laughter 😅😂
Or cwying
😂😂😂😂 unbelievable,Tony was class
You just cannot match these guys and never will . They must have laughed themselves senseless putting this together . Wonder how many takes it took .
Just Amazing comedy gold
Best episode ever 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Phillip Pope's autograph arrived in the post this morning...
And from the moment it arrived, I've had cwying stuck in my head.
I'm home now and I'm about to watch the whole episode.
👏where did he get all that crap from 😂
Where did he get that crap from the look on Del's face when Rodney says that 🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂
Old but gold 😂
“‘Mr. Twotter”.
