I have one of these. I keep it around for the Univibe and Leslie effects. The downside is you have to manually adjust everything for each effect every time you change modes/switch to a different effect. It's not a big deal in the home studio environment (the manual available online has useful settings), but if you are using it live, you'd have to plan it if you are going between multiple effects and settings on it between songs.
Love mine for the Uni vibe and Leslie settings If you select whammy and hold the button down Hard for to seconds you can scroll between the gain pedals... It was pretty cool for all the Gilmour tones in one box ( marooned being my fav into delay pedal
dude, to activate the distortion you only need to step on the heel position (red led), stepping on the toe (blinking yellow) is for choosing distortion model
Actually that's wrong u press dawn on the heel of wah for distortion and if you press on the front and hold it dawn then u can choose what type of distortion you want from the mode knob . That way you can then use the effect and the type of distortion you choose at the same time. Its all written on the bottom of the pedal .
I have one but i just have a little problem, the distortion channel has less gain than the clean, so when i'm using the wha wha and i make a solo with distorsión i loss volume gain
Hi. I one both df7 and EX7. The df7 is still working fine however for the EX7 the number 4 setting for whammy is no longer working. I tried calibrating a number of times but to no avail. Can u please give some directions as to how it can be fixed? Thank u.
Actually I don't think you can... but it was a long time ago and I'm not entirely sure. Might be worth googling the manual by searching "Digitecvh EX-7 PDF" just to be sure :) #gearfacts
you can, there is a switch on the heal of the expression that turns on both. if you press toe down you get the effect, if you press heal down you get effect and distortion. i just got one the other day and still figuring stuff out... like whether it can change distortions without changing effects or if mode one is just wah and that one specific distortion always.
@@rehpotsirhcification No, you can't. I can only say get one if you're lucky to find one. For live use you'll have to settle for one type of modulation (and optional distortion), but for studio/home/recording it's just amazing. The Leslie emulation alone is worth the price
@@gearfacts Thanks man. I feel the sounds on my rp360xp are lacking. I dont know if this is due to my own novice guitar skills or if it's the processing. I thought I'd like it but I dont really like it .. Maybe a nice comparative if you get time either here or privately...I know its subjective but I'm no newbie to what sounds decent. Lol. Just to gear more so. I think the looper is ok. And a few tones. I made but....idk. Anyway I think I like the sounds in general you showed here sound more analog.
Yeah i hear what you're saying. But if you are heading towards a 'serious' setup then I think it's pretty clear that the EX7 is going to win in the end, as all individual pedals do :) Gearfacts
The only video to ever show the distortion separate from the expression effects. Thanks so much
Wow it's pretty rare that I get a compliment like that. Glad it was helpful!

100% agreed. Big design issue there /GF
Who’s here after the JHS DF-7 vid?

I've always luvved the Funky music in the 70's like Sly and The Family Stone, all the Wah pedal sounds the groups used, Chic,Peter Frampton etc,etc...

Yes true - my mistake

I think that selector dial needs to be replaced. Fairly easy to do, but finding the part might be tricky. I’d start at an electronics shop,
hi, I have an ex-7. How did you use the distortions? Together with an effect or is it possible to only use a distortion? Cheers, Gurbz
Hmmm it was so long ago and I don't have it anymore...can't remember sorry! The manual is available by searching Digitech EX-7 PDF" though :)
Thanks for this review dude! I have a doubt about the type of power supply. if it is a negative center and what is the voltage. thanks dude
I'm stretching my memory here but I'm pretty sure it was 9V AC 1.3amps ...yep I'm 95% sure :) #gearfacts
9.6 V AC 1.3 amps. it doesn’t say on the pedal if its center negative. i am using my power from an old whammy pedal. boss style adaptors don’t fit.
Thanks dude 🤓
9V AC doesn't have positive or negative. I'm using a Digitech power brick from a DL4, works perfectly.
So, it means that we cant use distortions and "wah modes" together?

antichristian74 hope you don’t mind the question, but can you actually use it as a normal expression pedal to plug in to a different pedal?

Yeah u can
Nice. Would you say it sounds better than the RP 360xp?
I think so. We'd have to do a side-by-side, but my money would be on the EX7 :)GF

@@gearfacts Thanks man. Enjoyed the Ge200 vid too. I remember asking you way back if you'd test one. Glad you got it ...I think it is a nice system.
I'd like to hear a Baritone through this!
the instruction manual had me feeling insane it's so unclear and misleading
It's kinda dumb to not use your foot.
No matter, though, all of the effect sounds are terrible. Sounds like a bad 8th grade science project. Junk.
Tell me more, please
No way man, this is a cool pedal!
