@@insanemakaioshin I have tried almond milk, but dont see the utility in trying other substitutes when milk works perfectly on its own or in combination with almond milk. If for some reason I didn't drink milk, it would be worth trying these other ones out, but I don't think I would ever go that far in experimentation since the tried and true milk from the utters works like a charm and I can guzzle it by the gallon.

Should have posted my exact base so it was a better comparison. 270ish milk of choice, 113g cottage cheese, scoop of protein powder, 20g sweetener and .5-1g gum. Depending on recipe you can also add skinny syrup. Straight up cottage cheese without anything else yeah would be nasty.

My favorite way to use cottage cheese is to mix two servings of low fat cottage cheese with half a serving of protein powder, half a serving of sugar free cheesecake flavored jello mix, cinnamon, and add a small amount of graham cracker crumbs. All due respect, it is not just cottage cheese in a vacuum…the way you implemented sounds nasty and I love cottage cheese. Your comparison is not apples to apples to the right way to use it in a low cal protein ice cream, for example: 1 scoop protein powder, 100g cottage cheese, 1/4 tsp guar gum (better than xantham for cold foods), 8-11 fl oz unsweetened nut milk to the fill line (or any milk that fits your macros), sweetener to taste, plus flavors. Done right, cottage cheese is a protein ice cream game changer. Better macros and safer than raw egg yolks, too.

There is a way to eliminate the sour flavor in all the yogurt or cottage cheese; add a base to neutralize the lactic acid that causes it. I've been using calcium hydroxide for Greek yogurt, about a 1/4 tsp per creami container. FYI, baking soda doesn't work because it releases CO2, which becomes carbonic acid, giving it a new sour taste.

As an interesting thought, why not get a little chemistry-based with it? It sounds like it's mostly the sourness/acidity that is bothering you, right? Why not counteract it by blending a little bicarb in the recipe, and see how that goes? A little trial and error with pH strips to get a neutral mix, to learn the right ratio, then try it as before.

Yeah if you're gonna use cottage cheese you're probably going to need additional sweetener, flavor, protein powder, SOMETHING to mask the sourness of the cottage cheese. I'd buy the ninja creamy but I don't have the counter space for it lol.

    32g Chocolate PEScience Protein
    270g Almond Milk or fairlife
    100g 2% Cottage Cheese
    15g Cocoa Powder
    20g Sweetner
    0.5g Guar Gum
Run under hot water for 30 secs then hit light ice cream. Run it under another 30 secs of hot water. Run a butter knife along the inside edges. Then mix in 1-2 Oreos and hit Mix in and tell me that ain't the truth 🔥 no iceness and straight gas

Do you even like cottage cheese? Ofcourse it would never taste like real milk ice cream. But for those who enjoy those milk curds it can be a nice cold anabolic casein treat. I often cream my cottage cheese and eat it like extra thick greek yoghurt. I will try it with my Creami.

Waaaaaaaaaaaay too much cottage cheese. My base is always 60g Friendship 1% (which also taste much better than other cottage cheese especially generics), 280g of Fairlife 2% milk, and egg yolk. Obviously Pure Cane sweetner (o cal, not real pure cane sugar), whey etc. That and say UMP is incredible. As close to ice cream as I've gotten in last year and half or so since I've had the creami for still having protein and better macros lol. Also do with Red Velvet cake mix or Yellow Cake mix for birthday style, 20-30g is more than enough (microwaved to 160 first). My macros allow it and so killer. Especially Red Velvet one as I'll use UMP angel cake and 30g of reg cream cheese sweetened up than frozen to kinda cut into little blocks for mixin. And the Birthday Cake with yellow cake mix, and half a teaspoon of lorann fountain cake batter ooooohh man, worth the lil extra cals and sugar for that flavor and still around 15g protein serving (and about 170 cals), each pint split into 3.
Whomever is doing 100% cottage cheese is a sociopath, serial killer in the making lol. But in small amounts it's perfect, huge difference between brands. Friendship in general is about only one I liked, some can be bad, Walmart stuff is horrendous.

bro, i love your channel, love your recipes and so do my kids, but you did not follow the cottage cheese recipe.
also.... you commented that you followed the viral video recipes.. they all got it wrong. Its not just cottage cheese and sweetener. You missing some milk, honey or maple syrup, a little sweetener, adding some fruits and other ingredients that add more flavor. Cottage cheese and Swift is not gonna cut it.

    • @Exercise4CheatMeals
      @Exercise4CheatMeals  Рік тому

      Thanks brother!
For conversational purposes, let's say I made it wrong. I don't get the hype when you can just use all milk and not have to try and mask the flavor of cottage cheese through the use of all these other ingredients. Milk, sweetener, and vanilla extract make a near perfect vanilla ice cream base. After all of my testing, I would bet a very large sum of money that I could make 10 peoples recipes to a T and they would still taste off to me. However, I can see utility in making something niche like Jenis Ice Cream does where they use goat cheese and mix it with peaches and biscuits. They use just enough to give it that tangy bite but the saltyness of the peach and biscuit compliment everything perfectly. In my opinion and through my experience, I just think cottage cheese isn't necessary in 98.9% of ice cream flavors and isn't worth the months of viral hype it has gotten.

I've come to find that cottage cheese fails miserably as ice cream in every way, except in certain "exotic" cheesecake recipes. I've made several that hold their own against legit ice cream, but they ar enothing like these recipe videos on here.
All these influencers adding a tps of honey and a banana and some s#!t, no way they're actually eating that mess.
