His is voice is the only one I hear when I read anything batman 💙 a true legend 😭😭 Rest In Vengance Dark Knight 🖤💛🖤 HE IS VENGANCE! HE IS THE NIGHT! HE IS BATMAN!
See this? It's not JUST the voice. IF it were JUST the voice and he did it amazingly well, but he was (theoretically) a douche in real life, then as fans we could acknowledge his great talent but wouldn't be inspired by anything but his performance. But he WASN'T just the voice. Kevin Conroy LOVED the part. LOVED the fans. Was a fantastic gentleman through and through. And this is my favorite of the stories that surround the man. He immediately volunteered in that soup kitchen. Didn't make anything about who he was. Because he didn't think under the circumstances that anyone should care about some actor when the REAL Heroes were still sifting the rubble of the towers. But when he WAS recognized - and that lovely - oh SO New Yorker response - "Yeah? Prove it!" came back. And then he provided the best proof possible - For just a few minutes in the middle of one of the greatest tragedies we’ll ever know. He took the pain and worry away from some very tired, beaten down people and made them forget about it all and gave them joy. THAT is who Kevin Conroy was. That’s why we loved him. And why we always will. Rest in peace - the best Batman of all time. Kevin Conroy.
Am I the only one who think this would be a PERFECT idea for a Batman story? No mystery to solve, no clowns to pummel, just a man in a bat suit helping others. RIP, you magnificent angel of vengeance.
@@elderrusty541 That was the closest we ever came to this aspect of the character in live action. I'd honestly be fine with a "Tales from Springfield" esque movie about the people Batman helps and saves. Like they're all telling their stories, some who he saved from being mugged, some he saved from a fire or disaster, and some who didn't need to be saved, but he took the time to say a few words to them and the difference it made, or people who he couldn't save and what he did for them. No bad guy, no big plot, just who the Dark Knight is to the people of Gotham You do this right and you'll have a truly moving project that will make people understand why Batman is so beloved
I remember the first time I heard the story. I was listening to the audio commentary for the anime “Batman: Gotham Knight”. I found it very inspiring, and still do to this day. Kevin Conroy has gone from being a fictional hero in cartoons, to a real hero. God bless Kevin Conroy!
Man, the best Batman. Can't believe he died so young. I recommend everyone read the comic he wrote for DC's pride anthology last year called Finding Batman about being gay in Hollywood. He's always been such a great actor and a great person and despite being bi myself I never knew he was gay until very recently.
This is how I'll remember him - happy, helping others, a voice of hope in the darkest places. Not just fictional dark places, but real ones, too. You'll be forever missed, Mr Conroy. Thank you so much for sharing yourself with us and letting us know there's always hope. ❤
Absolute legend... Voicing a superhero on screen and by cooking meals for the emergency services after 9/11, a true hero off screen... He will be missed.
Rest, and thank you for your work. For those who haven’t seen, go watch I Know That Voice. It’s a really neat documentary all about the animation/voice acting industry and the fun they have in doing this work. It features absolutely phenomenal VAs from the Hannah-Barbera days to the current leading voices of today.
What a nice story especially when they people asked him what’s it like to be Santa Clause because that’s what just happened here Kevin Conroy will go down in History as the best Batman Voice Actor in history and boy I wish I could had volunteered on 9/11 but I was 11 years old and then two months later Justice League came on and that cartoon made me heal after the attack because I was born & raised in New Jersey and Justice League really help me Heal after The Attacks and same thing with Spider-Man 2002 with Tobey McGuire.
"Make him prove it!" is the most NYC possible response lmao. RIP to a legend
YES! That was the ONLY thought I had fr the responses. "This is so NY (and LA!)! 😆" ua-cam.com/video/6XrexETfJxs/v-deo.html
Forget about it Lmao , He will always be missed
R.I.P. Kevin Conroy. A true hero for so many of us. 🙏🏽

James Gunn more or less did this with his black comedy film Super.
The final scene in The Batman is one of my favorites, helping the people free from the rubble and then guiding them to the light was an amazing scene
