@@discosupafly That's another thing. Scooby-Doo and Lupin III somehow feel similar: 1. They have way-too-catchy music. 2. They're always being chased, either by monsters or the law. 3. They're both hand-drawn characters from the 60's (Lupin - 1967, Scooby - 1969) 4. They only have 1 CGI film so far (both came out in 2020 if you count just the English version of Lupin III: The First) 5. While Scooby unmasks monsters and uses disguises sometimes, Lupin unmasks *his own* disguises. 6. They both have an "underrated film" in their franchise, Castle of Cagliostro for Lupin and Zombie Island for Scooby.
The run at 20:10 is almost screen-perfect. Leaned back, hand on hat, long legs comically over-extending to exaggerate the motion just like the anime. There is a super-cut of just Jigen and it is spot-on perfect for the character. I'm going to assume they are different performers in that video and this given this is a theme park show, but the detail they put into both the costumes and performances of the main characters is fantastic.

We all agreed that Jigen was the most faithful and accurately done, with Fujiko coming second! 😘 Nothing but sheer respect for how well everyone got all the mannerisms down pat but as you say, Jigen was hands down the best! 😤👍
I love how the live actors playing the Lupin III characters are just mouthing out lines read by the corresponding characters' anime voice actors. No need to wear stage mikes like the other performers.
Yeah, it's the best of both worlds because unlike the voice actors, you've got people who really look the part! And unlike the ACTORS, you've got the voices just as they are in the anime! Win-win! 🎉

I hear ya. But given there wasn't really the space to do a dedicated stunt show, as well as the overall proximity to the viewing audience, this was probably as much as they could get away with, action-wise. Still, absolutely amazing with everything they *DID* do, IMO!

OMG, I could not stop grinning the entire time when I first watched this (I even squealed when Goemon appears) and I still do! The actors all play their parts so well and it's clever the way they lip sync to the voice actors' audio. When I was looking for inspiration for my Jigen cosplay, I found photos of someone who was wearing an amazing Jigen costume which I ended up basing mine on, and I didn't realise he was the same guy from this until now.
Honestly, this show is the best thing USJ has ever, EVER produced! I wish they'd bring it back, but it seems that place is pretty much exclusively a kids animation-themed park now. Pokemon, Conan, Kimetsu no Yaiba ... that's about all they do now ... 😭
I like how you can clearly tell that these are two different shows that are just well stitched together, like it’s obvious from the way the actors who Lupin and the construction men look lol, good acting regardless

i’m a year late but thank you so much for this! i was smiling the entire time and audibly gasped when goemon appeared ☺️ the expressions and movements of everyone are so insanely GOOD 😭 not to mention they’re all gorgeous 😳👀 and JIGEN!! despite his face being covered he was so energetic! i love his funky little run at 20:11 props to the sax player for having lungs of STEEL i’m surprised there were so many little kids in the front considering there’s guns and such :0
Ah yes, the famous Jigen run! 🏃♂️😏👍 I loved that scene, too! The majority of the actors were actually professional dancers who studied the animated characters at length. The fact that they're dancers is probably how they could so perfectly reproduce the movements! 😙

Ok Ive seen tokusatsu live shows from ultraman, power rangers, kamen rider, etc. So I hope some day will get a Godzilla live show cause we’ve got Godzilla in live shows in crossover events like gamera, power rangers, ultraman, and kamen rider and also a live Godzilla puppet show for Godzilla’s 65th anniversary so some day we’ll get a real live Godzilla show

Who are the actors? They did so wonderfully!! Thank you for this, I managed to run into this by mere accident and I immediately fell in love. Gosh they really did a wonderful job at capturing the characters :0) Jigen was definitely a personal favorite here, it felt as though the actual character was on-camera! Zenigata’s costume was also amazing !! Ahh it must have been so much fun to wear those outfits!!!
Jigen is my absolute favourite too! All these characters were played throughout the duration of this event by at least three different actors for each character, all of whom were/are Universal Studios Japan employees. Some are dancers, others singers, others still are BOTH. Then there's also the other cast members who aren't as physically talented - and they often went to play as either Lupin or Goemon in the nearby Lupin restaurant at USJ - converting one of their regular restaurants to have Lupin-themed dishes as well as something of a live show. I sure hope they bring back this event next year to tie in with the current Lupin Part 6 animated series!

No. This is the show in it's entirety from start to finish. If there are any videos that run longer than mine, it's simply because their film has additional footage of the actors and actresses before and/or after the show has started/finished. The show is done with the character performers acting and "speaking" in sync with prerecorded dialogue from the animation's voice actors, so there is ZERO ad-libbing or anything that might otherwise create a "longer" version as you suggest.
Technically I went and saw the show a bunch of times so I'd know what to film, when, and from which standpoint. But the footage comes from just three separate shows on three different days, spliced together into this one video! I did it all by myself! 😉
This show is so cool! Wow! I noticed that they don’t have it running now but do they ever bring back shows? I would love to visit USJ one day and see this, but thank you for making this video if I can’t. 🥰

So now with Part 6 having just started airing on Japanese TV, I'd like to think they'll have a new show ready for next year too. Can't say for sure, but they'd be missing an opportunity to cash in on the success of the TV show if they DIDN'T, y'know? 🙏🥺
This is a really nicely done show, and thank you for sharing! However, I have to say, Zenigata’s hat is… terrible. I know it’s trying to match the anime, but the brim is far too floppy and the crown is too bowl- like. Jigen’s hat is much more on point. 😁 Of course it doesn’t matter, this was four years ago. Is this still running at USJ? I wonder if it might get revised with the new Lupin movie due in 2025.

It reads in Japanese, "Gokurou-san" which is a stock phrase people say at the end of work - kind of like "Thanks for your hard work (today)!". But this is what Lupin always uses on his calling cards to mock Inspector Zenigata and anyone else foolish enough to try to stop him, so the nuance then becomes something like "Better luck next time, sucker!" ... or ... "Nice try, but no cigar!". 💰😘💷 (LOL)

Ah yes, the famous Jigen run! 🏃♂️😏👍 I loved that scene, too! The majority of the actors were actually professional dancers who studied the animated characters at length. The fact that they're dancers is probably how they could so perfectly reproduce the movements! 😙

Ok Ive seen tokusatsu live shows from ultraman, power rangers, kamen rider, etc. So I hope some day will get a Godzilla live show cause we’ve got Godzilla in live shows in crossover events like gamera, power rangers, ultraman, and kamen rider and also a live Godzilla puppet show for Godzilla’s 65th anniversary so some day we’ll get a real live Godzilla show

Who are the actors? They did so wonderfully!! Thank you for this, I managed to run into this by mere accident and I immediately fell in love. Gosh they really did a wonderful job at capturing the characters :0) Jigen was definitely a personal favorite here, it felt as though the actual character was on-camera!
Zenigata’s costume was also amazing !! Ahh it must have been so much fun to wear those outfits!!!
Jigen is my absolute favourite too! All these characters were played throughout the duration of this event by at least three different actors for each character, all of whom were/are Universal Studios Japan employees. Some are dancers, others singers, others still are BOTH.
Then there's also the other cast members who aren't as physically talented - and they often went to play as either Lupin or Goemon in the nearby Lupin restaurant at USJ - converting one of their regular restaurants to have Lupin-themed dishes as well as something of a live show.
I sure hope they bring back this event next year to tie in with the current Lupin Part 6 animated series!

No. This is the show in it's entirety from start to finish. If there are any videos that run longer than mine, it's simply because their film has additional footage of the actors and actresses before and/or after the show has started/finished.
The show is done with the character performers acting and "speaking" in sync with prerecorded dialogue from the animation's voice actors, so there is ZERO ad-libbing or anything that might otherwise create a "longer" version as you suggest.
How many times did you go to the show to get all of the camera angles? Was it a multi man operation?
Technically I went and saw the show a bunch of times so I'd know what to film, when, and from which standpoint. But the footage comes from just three separate shows on three different days, spliced together into this one video! I did it all by myself! 😉
I had no idea this was one viewer filming, I thought for sure this was official, awesome :D

(Identifiable by the slight changes in costume of Lupin, Jigen and Goemon). So now with Part 6 having just started airing on Japanese TV, I'd like to think they'll have a new show ready for next year too. Can't say for sure, but they'd be missing an opportunity to cash in on the success of the TV show if they DIDN'T, y'know? 🙏🥺

It reads in Japanese, "Gokurou-san" which is a stock phrase people say at the end of work - kind of like "Thanks for your hard work (today)!".
But this is what Lupin always uses on his calling cards to mock Inspector Zenigata and anyone else foolish enough to try to stop him, so the nuance then becomes something like "Better luck next time, sucker!" ... or ... "Nice try, but no cigar!". 💰😘💷
