I am incredibly impressed by the level of detail of Ghibli Park. Such a beautiful place. Thank you for your videos. My family watches them and we plan how we are going to travel in Japan.
I love you going here ! Please return every now and again to show new exhibits. I love how you show everything and take your time. For someone who will never get to go to these places I get to be there with you! I also love how upbeat and kind you are. Thank you for doing this .
Nausicaä Valley of the wind has always been my favorite film. Even when my first ghibli film was Princess Mononoke. I have a weakness for animals, and flying.😆 And the world was just really beautiful. The falling spore scene is my favorite.
In my head, I always imagined Ghibli Park to be more innovative and advanced compared to Universal or Disney. However since it's more family orientated than for older audiences, the plan in practice is still admirable. It doesn't need to go over the top or amaze anyone, what the studio Ghibli do best is tell a simple story and let the characters drive the feature. That's why for this part it's more about immersing yourself in those worlds more than riding it in one shot. 🥰🥰🥰
I literally would not be able to choose my favorite movie. Ponyo was our first post-marriage date, we saw it in theaters and my kids today love it. Kiki's Delivery Service was the first Ghibli movie I saw. I owned Castle in the Sky and Spirited Away on VHS and my wife and I spent our early college years renting Naussica, Princess Mononoke, and The Cat Returns from our college library since we didn't have cable or internet. Ghibli is just so special.
14:40 it's the Finnish poster for "The Cat Returns", the title means "Kingdom of Cats". 😊 I also spotted the Finnish version of Nausicaä on the wall which is cool.
I've watched alot of these "Ghibli Park" tour videos and yours is by far my favorite!! My favorite film is also Only Yesterday! I'm hearing more and more people talk about this amazing movie and I love that!!
I have watched a few videos because I wanted to see what it was like and all of them were not able to film the inside. I honestly thought that by now they would have relaxed a bit and finally let someone film.
I rly like how respectful you are when filming! Like when walking down the stairs you filmed around the people coming up! It makes the place look more magical and is also respectful to the other visitors!!
I loved "only yesterday" too! It's the most mature movie from studio Ghibli, as it touches an important subject for young adults: the courage of making changes in life. It's very relaxing to watch, despite the message that it conveys. And also "when Marnie was there"; both movies give a great psychological picture of the main characters
There seems to be a distinct lack of merch for it compared to other films and it's disappointing. I love a lot of the movies, but Howl is one of the ones that I come back to over and over for comfort.
@@Jocrazyface wait isn’t that the movie they just did the Loewe collab for? I know it was a ghibli movie but I’m fairly certain it was for Howl’s. They had some gorgeous designs but sadly I’m not gonna spend like 4K on a cute sweater lol
Omg Only Yesterday is one of my faves too!! Also really loved up on poppy hill ❤ I’m so glad I found your channel. We leave for Japan tomorrow and I’ve just been binge watching all of your videos! So helpful and insightful. I really appreciate your work!!
Thank you so much for your videos. They make me feel like I am there with you and it made me cry tears of happiness (it’s my greatest dream to visit Japan) ❤
I would say Whispers of the Heart or Castle in the Sky. Castle in the Sky was special for my family as mom and dad saw several years back under it's original title before being renamed in 1987 and then saw it again years later at our local film festival in 2002. Whispers of the Heart was mostly because me and my mom were curious about it after reading a brief synopsis of the film in a book on the filmogrophy and history of Hayao Miyazaki's films up to Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away. The plot and premise was curious for us but it hadn't been released in the US until it came out on home video in 2006.
Only Yesterday is such a good translation. It's not word for word at all, but it conveys all the right emotions. You have some talented translators over there and I am jealous.
My cat did indeed swing round to look and see what was making the jingly noise! It's ok though as he is a Ghibli fan (mostly because we always watch them snuggled in a pile of blankets). Thank you for showing us round.
My favorite film is so hard to choose! Totoro and Spirited Away probably, but they’re all so amazing. We love any of the lighter storylines at our house, like Arriety, Ponyo, The Cat Returns, and Kiki’s Delivery Service.
Thank you for showing all the tour parks in Japan. Very jealous of you and at the same time, telling us(family) where to look for next time in Japan. Very informative 👏
Tales of Earthsea was one of my firsts! its really great, my fave is Whisper of the Heart, so i would absolutely adore to visit this today. The exhibit with all the cover arts was incredible. Ghibli never fails to disappoint! Tysm for sharing
I Believe Spirited Away was my intro to Ghibli. My sister let me watch it. After that I binge their movies most of the time. Tales of Earthsea and Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind are my most treasured movies. I loved their color grading, stories, costume, and character development.
So glad you got to go back and have a proper look around! Love your videos so much and Studio Ghibli is just so magical and one of my favorites. I can't wait to go one day!
My favourite movie is Howls Moving Castle. Is something about that movie that makes me feel so calm and relax. It's really a conforting film to me. And it's really silly of me but i was crying watching this video because i don't know if i ever will have the experience this beautiful park of such a studio that means so much to me. I really think that i was born in the wrong continent AHHAHA Thank you for making this type of contents for people like me that dream about going to this kind of places. Thank you very much
Thank you for taking us along on your second and proper trip to the Studio Ghibli park ❤️ I really enjoyed this video! My favourite ghibli movies are Spirited Away, My neighbour Totoro, Kiki’s Delivery Service, Ponyo and Arriety ❤️ I’m going to be visiting Japan in a couple of months and I booked my ticket for studio Ghibli Park. I’m sad I won’t be able to visit the other 2 areas but very excited to spend my whole day trip inside the Grand Warehouse and your tour again was sooo amazing and I’m excited for my upcoming visit, Omg 🤍
Thank you for taking us there! What a lovely video. I too can’t hold my tears whenever I see Grave of the fireflies poster 🥺🥺 I was so lucky this morning and got tickets to the ghibli museum in April. Your video reminds me I have to start rewatching all the movies now.
Honestly- I am with you, Only Yesterday is my favorite. I LOVE all of the films, and they all are wondrous and special to me inter own ways and create different types of goose bumps on me. But if I was picking one to watch for the rest of my life- it would be "Only yesterday".
I live in Nagoya and I went to the Ghibli Park this week. If you open the left side closet door in the Totoro house near the kitchen you can find Mei and Satsuki’s hats. Outside the house you can find an empty seafood can and some acorns in the crawl space underneath.
The first Ghibli film I ever saw as a child was Princess Mononoke, so I have a special place in my heart for it! It absolutely terrified me and I had nightmares about the Forest God and Lord Okkoto for a long time 😂
Hi Chris I just love it when you go on an adventure. I had to get my 26 year old daughter up here to show me where all the Studio Ghibli moves she has on google movies because I need to watch them all. 😂
'Spirited Away' was the first one I watched when I was 15 or something and I fell in love with all of them my son is 5 and he's grown up watching Studio G films, his go to film is 'Ponyo' because he loves sea animals so much.
Omg, amazing video. It's so funny as I watched my neighbour totoro (this is my favourite Ghibli movie) again last night and your video popped up for the studios. Looks so amazing! One day I would definitely love to go there.... I'd be sitting in the cat bus right away 😂 I love how interactive everything is too, looks like it would be a great day out. I'd be getting that cat bus plush too and a totoro plush 😁
Great video! Those exhibits you show alway make me wish to visit! I love the way the food looks too! I am glad you had a wonderful time and thank you so much for your amazing videos!
Only Yesterday is my favorite too! I thought I was solo in my love for it. Mainly due to the beauty of the landscapes, my love of farming, parallels to my own struggles as a child, and the Hungarian music!
Thank you for showing all the spots!! International tickets didn't offer Hill of Youth and Dondoko Forest for sale when I got park tickets, so I'll be sad to miss those sections when I go next month, but I'm excited for the Warehouse!
I was so happy when you said that Only Yesterday was your favourite, it's one of mine as well!! And when you said that not much happens and you love it for that, I agree 1000%!! That's my exact thought as well. I think my favourites are tied between Only Yesterday and Spirited Away (which was my favourite as a kid)!
I work with a young disabled lady and she absolutely loves my neighbour totoro, it’s dubbed in Cantonese. I e not actually gotten round to watching it with English dubbed. But totoro is cute. And I have a kitten who was asleep until you wrung the bell, so now he thinks it’s playtime.
I have just started watching them. My Neighiur Totoro is my favourite so far. I started watching them after seeing this video the first time. Now I am hoping we can get tickets here when we go to Japan in November!
This looks so cool! I'd love to visit Japan and come here. My Studio Ghibli comfort movies are Kiki's Delivery Service (my intro to the studio when I was little) and Howl's Moving Castle. But I could watch almost any of them just to feel chill and have some good background music.
Whisper of the Heart is very special to me, so I would say that's my favourite. However, Ponyo and Kiki are also very high up there! But then there is Castle in the Sky.... so hard to choose!!!
Thank you for this amazing video! Not sure when I’ll be able to leave Aus next to get to Japan again so this video brought me unbelievable amount of joy ❤ Watching this may be the closest I get to making it to the Ghibli park!
My favorite Studio Ghibli film would have to be Princess Monanoke that I saw with friends at an art exhibition. Before the movies got released in the US ---- But, I really love them all ~ My neighbor Totoro is a hard second
I hope to get to visit these parks one day!! Also hoping by the time I am able, the other parts of the park will be open :) Love your videos, hello from California!
I'm in loooove with the どんどこ森 it's everything child me dreamt of. Hope I can order that guide book before I go, so I know what to look out for and plan my day. The merch is gorgeous but a little pricey, I'm gonna have to save up beforehand. Thanks for the very thorough video as usual.
Hey chris a bit of a update on something, I just got back from japan and hit up USJ, Currently they are running lottery's on accessing Super Nintendo world. Love your videos. It's like we're there with you! 🥰 I'm wondering - how far can you go towards Dondoko Forest without a ticket to that area? Hoping to visit in 2024!

Ahh, joining right now! 💛 Also, side question: if you only had a week in Japan staying in Tokyo, would you choose to do Ghibli Park or Ghibli Museum?
@@pocketfulofcolor Museum, as you need time to get to Nagoya to see Ghibli Park.
I am incredibly impressed by the level of detail of Ghibli Park. Such a beautiful place. Thank you for your videos. My family watches them and we plan how we are going to travel in Japan.

6:34 The tunnel with the lights was also still from Whisper of the Heart- when she started creating her story ideas that was from her story she made!
Thank you! It's been so long since I've seen it, I wasn't entirely sure.
I love you going here ! Please return every now and again to show new exhibits. I love how you show everything and take your time. For someone who will never get to go to these places I get to be there with you! I also love how upbeat and kind you are. Thank you for doing this .

So true. Most people think it’s underrated of a movie, but I love it to death. Meaning Howl’s Moving Castle.

Spirited away is still one of the most beautifully animated movie/Animes of our time.
You can return as many times as you like, it will never get old. The "pizza" looked a lot like Focaccia bread.
Kissojen valtakunta is FINNISH language🇫🇮🇫🇮🇫🇮🇫🇮🇫🇮
Btw we have same favorite Ghibli movie but language it's Eilisen kuiskaus.♥️
Thank you. This has inspired me to watch Ghibli movies. I’ve started with Whisper of the Heart.
My favourite Ghibli movies are Kiki’s Delivery Service, Castle in the Sky, Ponyo and the Cat Returns. 😊
I love off all of studio, Gibley stuff and I felt a huge fan for years. Can I watch all of the movies and I’m a really huge fan of your videos
The first Ghibli film I ever saw as a child was Princess Mononoke, so I have a special place in my heart for it! It absolutely terrified me and I had nightmares about the Forest God and Lord Okkoto for a long time 😂

I’m obsessed with the Ghibli Park. Loving all your content. Just discovered your channel through Ordinary Adventures and Carlye Wisel’s podcast.
Adore ALL of GHIBLI! For years. You Rock for doing this one. We have watched a few times 💕🎀 Keep up your amazing work!

My top fave ghibli film(s) is Whisper of The Heart and Only Yesterday
I work with a young disabled lady and she absolutely loves my neighbour totoro, it’s dubbed in Cantonese. I e not actually gotten round to watching it with English dubbed. But totoro is cute. And I have a kitten who was asleep until you wrung the bell, so now he thinks it’s playtime.
I feel like if they did an exhibit like the houses anywhere else, people would steal stuff from them
My favorite studio Ghibli movie is Spirited away!
I have just started watching them. My Neighiur Totoro is my favourite so far. I started watching them after seeing this video the first time. Now I am hoping we can get tickets here when we go to Japan in November!

As a fellow Canadian who is living through your travels haha thank you so much.
Cant really choose a favorite, Ponyo, Howl’s Moving Castle, Spirited Away, Kiki ❤️
It looks so cute there! Wish the cafe offered more food show in the movies but still looked yummy.
Awesome vlog! 😍 I love buying clear files too🤣 great giveaways!
Clear files are my weakness
looks like you had an amazing time! thanks for sharing man!
I love your tour. I love when you are happily amuse. Wish they make a real cat bus than take you around. Would love to ride it.
YES! One of my favorites is also Only Yesterday!! Other one is From Up on Poppy Hill.
Thank you for this amazing video! Not sure when I’ll be able to leave Aus next to get to Japan again so this video brought me unbelievable amount of joy ❤
Watching this may be the closest I get to making it to the Ghibli park!
I am so excited to go on the 18th, even thought it's only the Grand Warehouse. I am still excited!!!
you gushing about the paws aka toe beans made my day. thank you
This makes me want to visit that much more!! Thank you for taking us along with you!
My favorite Studio Ghibli film would have to be Princess Monanoke that I saw with friends at an art exhibition. Before the movies got released in the US ---- But, I really love them all ~ My neighbor Totoro is a hard second
Awesome video as always dear Chris
You should showcase your clear file collection. I also couldn't resist one in my short stay in Japan!
I can’t wait to go myself it looks so beautiful🥺🫶
I hope to get to visit these parks one day!! Also hoping by the time I am able, the other parts of the park will be open :) Love your videos, hello from California!
I'm in loooove with the どんどこ森 it's everything child me dreamt of. Hope I can order that guide book before I go, so I know what to look out for and plan my day. The merch is gorgeous but a little pricey, I'm gonna have to save up beforehand. Thanks for the very thorough video as usual.
The catbus stuffed toy looks really nice, definitely worth the $40
Beautiful! Thank you for the video!
Hey chris a bit of a update on something, I just got back from japan and hit up USJ, Currently they are running lottery's on accessing Super Nintendo world. The lovely staff did give me the hint that if i was to be there at opening (normally 8 but recently 7:40am) you can walk stright into the Super Nintendo world without any lottery ect.
My top 2 Ghibli movies are Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind and Castle in the Sky!
I think that tunnel was from Nausicaä!
And yeah, Grave of the Fireflies WRECKED me. I've watched it twice...the only reason I watched it a second time is because I was watching all of the Ghibli movies in chronological order with my best friend who had never seen a Ghibli movie before 2020.
Oh I believe the tunnel at 6:37 is the main characters dream tunnel from Whispers of the heart
That catbus is adorable! If you move in that house, I'm coming for a sleepover!
Wow thank you for the tour! ❤❤ i wanted to visit there when i visited japan but didnt know that the ticket reservation process was a challenge and needed to prepare months ahead😅 so i didn’t go
Thank you for watching!
Thank you so much for taking the time to make such a thoughtful, detailed video! For a first time visit, can you please tell me how much time you think I should I allot for a good, thorough visit?
My fav is My Neighbor the Yamadas and the Car Returns
Dude, My cat was watching the bell scene before you even took it out of the bag!!! You were spot on!!! 😂😂
They must have sense it when I grabbed in in the video before I rang it, hahah!
Love your videos. It's like we're there with you! 🥰 I'm wondering - how far can you go towards Dondoko Forest without a ticket to that area? Hoping to visit in 2024!
Howl’s Moving Castle is my all time favorite
14:37 looks like Finnish to me! "Kissojen Valtakunta" is like "The Cats Kingdom" 🐱🇫🇮
I’m watching this after getting a matching soot sprite tattoo with my friend. Hopefully one day I’ll make it to see this.
My favorite is spirit away and I would love to go to this
Lol can i pick two favorites? Howls moving castle and Princess Monoke!
Everything there looks so much fun! I'm curious about the areas you weren't allowed to film in haha I wish i could go see them in person.
I just subscribed to the mailing list I'm going to be getting tattoos from studio ghibli soon so getting this would be amazing
Kiki’s delivery service is my favorite! ❤
Ghibli as in STUDIO Ghibli, the animation company responsible for My Neighbor Totoro! =D

14:37 Kissojen Va´ltakunta is Finnish. Ghibli is kinda huge even here
I looked that up. "Kissojen valtakunta" means "Kingdom of cats" in Finnish; could be "Return of the Cat"
