What I take away from this video is simple, yet powerful: nothing worth achieving comes easily. Whether it’s surgical training or any other field, the harder the journey, the stronger it makes you. Life is about pushing your limits and becoming the best version of yourself, because at the end of the day, it’s you who wakes up each morning and faces the reflection in the mirror so make sure you’re proud of the person you see. And the only limit that there exists is the one you set for yourself.
Dr Rizwan sir, I've always loved how you speak, weave and arrange your dictions in a very comprehensive, yet objective manner. You're my living role model. You made me fall in love with coming over to live in Australia. You’ve also made me to consider Emergency Medicine as a a likely specialty I would love to find myself in, because currently, I'm striving hard in my 4th year of Med school to become as brainy and vocal as you are.😊 I am almost always among the first sets of people to check out your contents, both videos and articles alike because they inspire me alot! I have also shared your contents with most of my colleagues so that they could benefit from your wealth of wisdom too. Hoping to receive more mentorships directly from you and someday, I will make it to Australia to give you a hug as a way of appreciation. Abdulmalik from Nigeria.
Very informative videos Dr Rizwan. I did PhD from UNSW and after 6 years decided to come back to Australia. I am a regular listener if your videos. Jazakallah Hu Haira for dessiminating very important information to Aspiring IMGs. Love the way you speak crisp and clear. God bless you.
Dear Dr Rizwan, I hope you are in good health. Once again, thank you so much for this valuable information. Your videos provide alot of guidance to IMGs, for which we are grateful. Dr. Rizwan, may I kindly request you if you could invite IMGs, who got into australian surgical residency (SET programme), for a detailed interview regarding how they managed to get into surgical residency/ training programme in Australia. I meticulously follow your videos, and I remember you once talked about an IMG named Ali who got into surgical residency in Australia. I would humbly request if you could invite him as well for a detailed interview. This will immensely benefit IMGs as currently there are no such examples to get guidance/ motivation from. Thank you once again for your wonderful videos.
Hello Dr Rizwan, i have been following your videos regularly. you have explained the process in very good and detailed way in this video. Dr Rizwan, for a person who is passionate about surgery, do you recommend choosing other pathways like plab mrcs rather than going to Australia? is it nearly impossible to get into surgical training in Australia for IMGs?
I appreciate your passion in surgery. Make no mistake getting into surgical training in the UK or Australia is pretty much depends on what I have explained in this video… plabs mrcs amcs USMLE never did and never will lead to surgical training entry best wishes
Sir please tell the difference between residency in australia and india bcz in india it usually takes 3 yrs but in australia i have heard it takes 5 -7 years
How are other surgical specialties competitiveness, it seems ortho is a steep time consuming road. are there others that are better? and a bit easier to crack?
Doctor Rizwan … thanks for this informative video ..kindly can u make a video about challenges that faces IMGs for getting a dermatology position.. I really like ur content 🔥
I heard to get masters from a university in australia, I need a second upper at least in my mbbs. Since I just have a pass, due to various health factors, I won't be eligible for masters training in Australia. But I can do masters in my home country. Would that carry any weight?
Hi Rizwan, For someone who has been a neurosurgeon in their home country and wants to be GP in Australia. Is clearing the AMC all they need to do and then they will become GP in Australia or do they need to do further training or course? Would really appreciate the reply. Thanks
You have to train in General Practice which is an independent speciality in Australia Have a look several videos on my channel on multiple pathways to become a GP in Australia Under GP section ua-cam.com/video/vWFSkxtyxbo/v-deo.htmlsi=QEAICUGWFsrzVP98
Hi sir thanks for the information.Iam from India and I have just completed DNB ortho….planning to come to Australia after clearing AMC 1 ….and please let me know the chance of getting into orthopaedic training after having some experience in Australia in ortho and other associated specialities…is that possible to attain the things u have already said in the video by this time in Australia and apply through specialist assessment pathway to become a consultant
Yes, if you follow the process of complete AMC 1 and 2/ WBA via general specialities like medicine, surgery and ED and then get general registration, then PR then doing Phd, Masters in Aussie Uni, Spend 6months in Ortho + some years in relevant non-Ortho specialties in good hospitals in Australia, publish and present original researches in Australia, Pass GSSE and Ortho MCQ test, Get excellent departmental and local references then YES. The point is for anyone to achieve what I have said in video is "QUALITATIVE". There is very little an average IMG would be able to do that, unless he/she is fully dedicated to the process. Will take about 4-5 years to get into Ortho training and then 6 years of Full Orthopaedic training... but yes, there is a hope !
@ sir , just one more doubt after doing all these stuff will they count my ortho post graduate training in India or I have to do the whole training like 5 to 6 yrs???
@@shamseershamseer6904 Whole thing, NONE of MS Ortho will be counted (double check with RACS for clarification) as you are apply for FORMAL Orthopaedic training program in Australia which is officially 6 years but unofficially the average Australian doctor spend 12-13years after internship/house job to become a fully qualified orthopaedic surgeon in Australia.

Does MRCS count as a masters course to score those 3 points?
I don’t believe mrcs is a masters level course that will address the scholarly attributes of PhD and masters

I believe from Australia 🇦🇺
