You make the ABSOLUTE BEST HOW TO videos! THANKS for this sir. I am not using XS10 but still helps me alot with my XA7 for video. Your tech guides are awesome! Keep it up sir! You deserve a million subs.
I took this camera off my shopping list because another reviewer said it doesn't offer Manual options in Video and its only program mode. Clearly this is not the case. Thank you. Perfect small travel camera for myself and family that offers a budget price ,excellent video and photo options - a flash woohooo and some nice small lenses. Now I can skip the XT-4 save some money and also leave the Canon FF body and heavy L glass at home.
Extremely useful, easy to follow, clear and highly professional - thanks. I am not a technophobe but the modern camera has so many capabiities and settings that I find it overwhelming: you have just taught me all I need to know about the purpose for which I bought it.
Thank you for posting such an informative video. As someone learning more about video, and about this camera in particular, this is exactly what I was hoping to find. You have a great teaching style, and this video is very nicely produced.
The X-S10 is what I’m getting for my first mirrorless camera, a major and much needed upgrade over the Nikon D3500. Thanks for the excellent reviews on this camera, your videos have a totally different refreshing atmosphere from other reviews that make it easier to watch.

Thanks a ton for the video.. you probably don't even have the slightest idea how helpful you are for newcomers like me.. its just a hobby but you are making it more than that.. lots of love..
Hi - I bought this camera yesterday, and without doubt you have provided by far the best tips for it. I was having most problems with AF - and they are now solved. Thank you - subscribed :)
Hi Maarten The first time in 15 years of using youtube that I actually hit the subscribe button! Amazing videos! I am incredibly glad to find you among all this "unboxing-and-review"-crap where the "influencers" just read from the manual or spec sheet but most likely haven't even turned the camera on before. They do not have any idea about the camera and they do not care as it's just about "click my affiliate links in the description so I get a comission". You on the other hand know what you are doing and found a great way to "transport and deliver" this knowledge to the audience. Your videos are quite long compared to what others with the same topic offer - but as they are packed with useful and valuable content it's easy to watch them for hours where others just get super boring or annoying within the first 30 seconds. I really enjoy all the little details you explain. I also appreciate that there are no "special effects" or annoying intros shown in your videos. Also no "desperate begging" for subscription or likes like most others do several times during their videos! You just keep it simple and smart - the way it should be. Thanks for putting all the work into the videos so we can all benefit from your knowledge and passion! :) PS.: What do you think about the performance of the 16-80F4? Lot of people complain about soft edges and heavy vignetting on both extreme ends? Do see any issue here or would you recommend the lens? I am quite interested in the lens as I am a full time traveller for over 3 years now so size and weight matters. PPS.: I immediately liked your name because I grew up in Heilbronn (german city) :)
I'm honoured - thanks for the kind words and the subscription!! The 16-80 is not a great lens, particularly for video. I prefer and use the 16-55, although it's Fujifilm's primes that get the best ratings. I've never been to Heilbronn, are there are any Heilbrons in town?
@@MaartenHeilbron Thanks for your judgement on the 16-80. Unfortunately the weight of the 16-55 scares me. Have you used the 18-135? I am also thinking about 18-55 + 55-200 combo as I could need the additional reach. Any ideas on that? I am asking as I am currently using Sony gear but ditch that in 2 weeks as I move to Fuji with the X-S10 as body. I mainly do stills and video only occasionally (about 90-10). To be honest, I have never heard "Heilbron" as a name before ;-)
@@footlooselife5004 The 18-135 is (in my opinion) even less desirable. The 18-55 is a good lens, I have no experience with the 55-200. Wow, strange, I've heard it all my life!
Thank you for another excellent how to video. You are in deed the best source of this information on UA-cam, printed in a most enjoyable manner. Doesn’t feel like we are learning. Keep it up.
Sitting here with my new X-S10 and finding your walkthrough of the settings so very, very helpful in setting up the camera for video. With all these great functions for video (my primary projected use for this camera) it is crazy that the battery gets drained so fast. I knew that, but it was a shock all the same. Anyway, thanks for your patient and detailed coverage.
Your videos are so helpful for this Newby. You teach in a way that is easy to understand..nice and slow. But I'll confess, I still slow down the playback speed a bit so that I can follow along with my x s10. Thank you!
Thank you for the incredible effort you put into these in-depth videos Maarten! I hope to see you test the "webcam" option too, once it finally works. But in general, i think you have convinced me, even with some of the minor flaws, the X-S10 is the perfect camera for me to hop on to the X-system train. By the way, does the 16-80mm still have the focus-issue when zooming during recording? I've seen in multiple reviews, that it was very unpleasing when zooming.
I would not expect a lens of that type to perform well while recording video - that's a need, as demonstrated in the video, that's met by a parfocal (cine) lens. Thanks for your kind words, and I would agree, it's a solid choice.
@@MaartenHeilbron Hello, I can't get my flash to work on this camera. In the settings and in all the modes I can't find what to do. Could you please help me? 🙏
This is a brilliant video, thank you for making it. By far the best video I've seen on the capabilities of this 'basic' camera's features. I've subscribed!
Thank you very much for your detailed information. Very handy for a beginner of the Fuji X-S10. Just one note: the shutter speed of 1/60 by 30 fps in 4K does not work in Europe as it creates a flickering if one uses artifical lighting. A shutter speed of 1/50 works better.
It does work if you are using appropriate video lighting. Here in North America, it's also sometimes necessary to adjust the shutter to avoid flickering.
Fuji AF is notorious for finding random "faces" in the background. I noticed it kept doing that when you were shooting in front of the bookcases. I would highly recommend turning off Eye Auto Detect in a static scene such as that and move the focus box around your head. I just ordered a used X-S10 that should be here tomorrow. Your settings will have me up and running quickly - thanks!
Thank you for some valuable information, as I get more comfortable using my camera I thought it was time to start learning how to better set up the video end of things.
Darn. I wanted to watch this video because the X-S10 is more afforadable the the XT-4; but than you attached it to the Fujinon MKX 18-55 for your advanced section, all of a sudden the difference in cost between the X-S10 and the XT-4 seemed pretty meaningless. I do love Fujinon cinema lenses! So why am I quibbling over a few hundred dollars? Nevertheless, I do love the thoroughness of your useful tutorials. Thanks so much! I do so much value your opinions.
@@MaartenHeilbron Before I retired about 10 years ago, my unit had a Fujinon 12-120mm lens with a two-times extender. It was so sweet! 'Wish they would have given it to me as a retirement gift. Alas, they wanted to keep using it! Anyway, I still have fond memories of those days.
It only appears when the camera is in video mode. It does not display when Large display is active. If it does not appear, you may need to tap the display button until it does, or you may need to select if from the display custom settings.
@@MaartenHeilbron Thanks Maarten! I'm thinking they might remove this function to get you to go for the XT4. G9 and Eos M6ii they also have slow motion but not with autofocus. Not a big issue, but better have it than not!
I generally feel that I cover that in my review - and there are many more variables to consider. However, if you want a quick photo without paying attention to the many settings, set the dial to Auto.
Hi Maarten! What SD card should I buy for this camera? I will be using it for both stills and video so I want something that can keep up with the demand but I don't want to spend more than I should and I've read that UHS-II is more than this camera needs. I've been looking at Sandisk SD cards because they were recommended in the user manual. Everyone online suggests buying the extreme pro version but would you say that the cheaper Sandisk ultra would work just as well or should I pay more for the better SD card? Or do you recommend any other brands? Love your videos and thanks in advance for the help!
I agree with the advice you've already heard. For stills only, unless you're doing a lot of bursting, Ultra is fine, but for high bit rate video, I'd recommend Extreme Pro. SanDisk is a good brand, also consider Panasonic, who make excellent quality cards.
You are an absolute superstar Maarten. Thank you for your always awesome videos. Quick question: at the end when you said "...that slowly drains the internal battery", are you saying using the camera whilst it's charging actually damages the battery?
It doesn't damage it, but it does use it up, which means that even though you're powering it externally, it doesn't last indefinitely. Thanks for your kind words.
Thanks so much. So far I find mine has a great built in mic. While the stills it shoots are awesome I am finding the video looks like it has too much light usually so the colors are not rich. I have the lens on A. Not f4 like you recommend. What can I do to reduce that overlit look ? Also when shooting action like a music band or football game shoot I turn eye detection off because it is currently confused and does not shoot those scenarios well. Maybe I should turn performance boost on for those scenarios ? Thanks so much !
Turn down the exposure compensation or the ISO to reduce the overall light level. For exteriors, as I mentioned, sometimes it's necessary to use an ND filter to control the light.
@@MaartenHeilbron thanks I will try that. I noticed your fist video on the camera had some “hates as well as loves. But also noticed you are spending quite a bit of time with it now in terms of showing us how to use it. Are you growing more fond or less fond of it as you do ?
Thanks for the review, very helpful to me. One question, should I turn off stabilization when shooting video on a tripod? In your video, you recommend turning on stabilization, which should not be on when taking photos with a tripod.
Stabilization should not be on when using a tripod - otherwise, as you start to pan smoothly, it will try to hold the image and then jump as it realizes it can’t hold it steady,. Thanks for your kind words.
Excellent video, I love the tone and the calmness of the explanations. What wall-adapter would I need to power the Fuji enough so the battery doesn´t slowly drain? There are PD rated Powerbanks but I don´t know if they deliver enough juice to also not drain the battery of the Fuji, as far as I understood they need to deliver 3amps?
I appreciate your kind words, thanks. Any adapter or external power battery that supports PD would be fine, capacity will determine how long it will last. The internal battery will drain slowly regardless of the source.
@@MaartenHeilbron Incredible that the battery will still drain at some point and that it is not possible to shoot for as long as wished pluged into a wall adapter. Thank you for your response.
Thank you sir! Hopefully fuji can add a firmwate update so that we can use those C dials to save video settings. Since Xs10 looks to be geared towards videography. Please fuji!😏
@@MaartenHeilbron As always, Thank you for responding. What I meant was saving different video settings like for slow motion and other frame rates, like the dial 1,2,3 on sony cameras.
Thanks for your detail sharing. I would like to know what brand name of the mount adapter are you using for this video? I love your tutorial so much, from Hong Kong.
Thanks, I appreciate your kind words. Although the F-log assist can be assigned to a Fn key, F-Log cannot. I'm not sure why you'd want to do this - if you are using F-log you should use it for your entire project.
Hi Maarten, I did a reset first, just the shooting and video settings, and the mic level didn't reappear, but later also included a reset of the setup, and they are back! While I'm writing, I have a quick question for you. I'm shooting with the 18-55 and 55-200 and love them both. I am, though, considering getting a lens that overlaps the two, possibly the 16-80, which is currently on sale for $599, or the 18-135. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks again for all your input and wonderful videos! Cheers, Steve
Thank you for such a wonderful video about using X-S10. I recorded a video using my Fuji X-S10. However when I go to see the video using Fuji XRaw Studio, I cannot see any of the videos. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for your kind words. Only UHS I. There are too many variations, situations and creative decisions to be able to do a generalized video about stills.
Great stuff, even if I know most of the information, it's great to listen to a pro explain it. I'm looking at switching from my A6300 to two of these as my primary video cameras, since I just have one native e-mount lens. How does F-Log compare to S-Log2 in 8-bit? How about the externally recorder 10-bit F-Log vs 10-bit S-Log? How's the XS 10's AF and low light performance compared to an a7iii or an a6600?
F-Log (10 bit at 200 Mbps) is superior to S-Log, with less noise. The results for external are similar, also F-Log is less noisy. The AF on the X-S10 is better than the A6300, the low light is better on the A7III and A6600.
Thanks for that Marteen! One question about the kit lenses: which one would you recommend between XF 18-55mm f2,8-4 Kit and XF 16-80mm f4 Kit. I've heard that the for video the 18-55 performs better than the 16-80. What's you opinion on that?
I think that the 18-55 or 16-80 is a bit either/or - it can be a mistake to set your video expectations too high with these. The 16-55 is superior, or as suggested, a cine lens if you're serious.
Hello Sir hope u will notice this . What do u think has more nice video result overall between sony a6400 and this fuji x-s10? im so torn between the two.
Grateful to have discovered your video, just as I bought this camera. Thanks! ...your name is Dutch - sounding , so I guess your ancestors were from the lowlands of Europe?
Thank you for all that you do on this channel! These videos are top notch quality and provide so much information that I've yet to find elsewhere. I do have one question though: I am very interested in upgrading from my Canon M50 to this body here as it seems EF-M is almost completely dead in the water. A few reviews have mentioned that there's no subject tracking in video besides for face and eye detect. Is this true? I currently have this feature on my Canon body and I can just tap the touch screen to focus and track any subjects until I tap and switch it to something else. I tried looking at the manual and I found this: "When CONTINUOUS AF is chosen for FOCUS MODE, the camera will continuously adjust focus for changes in the distance to the subject at point selected by tapping the display." It sounds like there is tracking in video but I figured I'd ask. Once again, thank you for all of your help. I look forward to all of your future videos! - Jonathan
Thanks for your kind words, they are appreciated. I would take a careful analysis of the real deficiencies of my current camera and the benefits I would achieve before deciding to upgrade. It's not that I don't believe the X-S10 isn't a better camera - but it's not that much better that, unless there's a very specific problem, an upgrade would actually be a material improvement.
Hi Maarten, apologies if you've already answered this. Can you recommend one of the two available kit lenses for general purpose, but video biased use? I'm excited to make my first investment in a camera, and the Fuji system.
Hey hello, I have just bought this camera. I was wondering what does the "slow draining of battery" you mention means if you use a standard charger? Does doing so ruin the battery or what?
It does not ruin the battery, it just means that it will slowly drain while you're recording. Using a USB-C power delivery type charger does not drain the battery.
Hi there, great vid SIR. Can I ask you a favor. Please tell us if this camera has peaking in video mode, even after hitting the REC button, the xt200 and xa7 unfortunately does not have this pretty important feature in video mode during recording. Thank you!
Ehi man very nice review!! Just a couple of question...I don't get when you said that i must set ibis boost off to avoid camera tilt during panning...is that a defect? And since that this camera is not able to shoot 4k 60fps, the file produced is well enough to interpolate it with premiere optical flow to slow it down 50% without any major artifact? And last but not least, Can we record up to 200 megabit also straight on the sd card?? can you snap me a link of sd card that you suggest it? thanks a lot for your patiente
No camera's in-camera stabilization should be on when using a tripod. Otherwise, when you start to move - pan or tilt - the camera will resist the movement and then jump.If those settings for low motion provide results that are satisfactory to you, then it is good enough.
Thanks again for a very helpful guide, Although I'm using the same camera but I use Rode wireless GO 2 for my audio inputs. I'm currently having some audio issues. There is a very audible hissing noise in the background. I have tried removing it by using noise reduction in post but it doesn't completely disappear. Any thoughts or advice on how to rectify this issue ?
If you have any sense for quality audio, recording in-camera is a mistake. An external recorder will provide superior results in every way. However, if you connect headphones directly to the Rode's output, is that also hissy? If you use another external mic, is it hissy? Are the internal mic recordings hissy?
New subscriber and binge watching your videos on the X-S10 😊 Thank you so much for taking the time to make these tutorial videos. You’re doing an amazing job 👍 I am thinking about purchasing an x-s10 to step up my game on my videos quality. Quite an overwhelming (and intimidating) amount of parameters to setup 😳 practice makes perfect I suppose 🤓 Any thoughts on what lens to pick for a Jeep adventure style vlog videos ? Thank you 🙏
Thanks for the kind words, and the subscription - nice to have you join us. What camera are you currently using? Why do you feel the need to upgrade? I'd take a relatively wide angle - 23mm or less. Fujifilm makes a couple of very find 23mm lenses - but the 16mm is also an excellent wide angle.
Thank you for the quick reply 😊 I actually do not own a “real” camera at this moment 😖 I shoot all my YT videos with my iphone SE 2 (for vlog & drive by), I also have a GoPro 6 black and a DJI Mavic Air. I use LumaFusion for editing. The reason I want to upgrade is that I am not very happy with my videos quality anymore. I know hardware is a reason (and some user error for sure 😂) but to be honest, I am not sure how much UA-cam is responsible for it as it seems like they cripple bitrate and quality when you upload videos depending on what resolution you upload. I just want to step up my game and X-S10 appears to be an amazing “entry level” value (I am on a tight budget). Wide angle definitely makes sense. 16mm was in my mind 🙂. Any video downsides by going with F2.8 vs F1.4 ? Huge price difference! Any thoughts on 10-24 for video? Thank you 😊
@@SuperwheelieOverland Understood. I assume you're mostly shooting outside in sunlight and bokeh isn't an issue for you, so there won't be many advantages to the F1.4. The new 10-24 (with the WR designation) should be better than the older (non WR) version, but haven't yet tried it.
Yes. Mostly shooting outside but not necessarily in the sun (could be cloudy, snow or rain sometimes or even shooting in my Jeep). I don’t care much about bokeh BUT I would definitely like some toneh ! 😊 it’s too bad the X-S10 doesn’t appear to be WR 😖 I will wait for your review of the new 10-24 😉 Why is it so hard to decide what camera to buy ?!? 😩
@@SuperwheelieOverland Because the preferences and needs vary widely from photographer to photographer and situation to situation. I don't think there would ever be a perfect camera.
thanks for the useful tips! some of them I applied for my xs10 camera. did you have an issue that a recording in 4k make the camera really hot and recording is going to be stopped with a red indicator of temperature. In the room I can't record more than 20-30 mins. I need to switch off the camera and wait 5-10 mins. but next recording will be shorter, maybe 15-20 mins
Morning. I have an X S10 camera 📷. As a DJ, I am constantly filming video in low light with large crowds moving the camera across the stage. What are the best setting do you recommend for a situation like mine? Thank you
Are the settings I recommend in the video not working for you? I would recommend that you use a tripod (a stable shot will be less noisy) and that you use a lens with a large aperture (F2.8). I suspect that there is a lot of motion in your images, so using a slower shutter (1/30 instead of 1/60) is not advisable. After that it's just how much "noise" you're prepared to tolerate based on the ISO required to achieve a reasonable exposure. F-Log may help, but will require more work.
How are you doing Mr. Heilbon. I stumbled across your video while trying to research cameras to use for my channel. I had 2 questions regarding this camera. One, are there any moderately priced recording monitors that you would recommend? How much storage should I have on those? Second, are there any lenses you would recommend that would allow me to have good background blur, not too expensive, would allow me to add filters in the future and is good for video and pictures. I saw the one you had in the description, and I didn't know if you had any others. I am going to look at your other reviews of the camera. I really enjoyed the video, thank you.
Fine, thanks for asking, although I've been quiet quitting youtube this summer. Also thanks for your kind words. I would recommend the Atomos series of monitor/recorders, that's what I've used since they were first released. The amount of storage needed depends on your resolution and quality needs and chosen codec. As they use SSD technology, you can purchase one or more drives to suit your requirements. For lenses, I recommend the XF 16-55mm. It's a good focal range for video and has a fixed aperture with excellent bokeh. Hope this helps.
You are excellent! I have a question about 10 bit recording. Can we have a better footage quality while recording with the film simulations such as Eterna, Classic Chrome etc. in 10 bit? If so, can we distinguish the difference on regular TVs or monitors? In other words, does it make sense to record in ten bits without F-log?
Yes, the quality is better. No, you're unlikely to see it on regular TVs or monitors, even if you're playing it directly from the camera. While it may make sense (future proofing and all that), unless you are going to use the extra information when editing to colour grade, it probably doesn't make sense.
Hi Maarten, thanks for the great video! I have a question: if I do not intend to do color grading or any kind of post processing, what settings (film simulation, tonal curve, sharpness) do you recommend? I am shooting mainly home videos of family and kids. Thanks in advance :)
Depends on the scene. If you're going to grade, might as well shoot F-Log. Otherwise, Classic Chrome, turn the highlight/shadows down and reduce the sharpness so it looks a little less like video and more like film.
Thanks for the helpful video. Just bought an X-S10 tonight to replace my old XT-10. Question... if you record ONLY to the external, (you mention at 4:50), can you have unlimited recording length? In theory, it seems as though the camera should not get as hot if it is not recording internally?
Yes, with an external recorder, as long as you are set to external only (or trigger the recording from the external device instead of through the camera) you'll be limited only by drive space on the external recorder and battery life.
@@figarowho Understood. I'm not sure that there's much heat benefit from external recording, but there likely is from using an external USB PD-type battery (the battery is a major source of heat).
@@MaartenHeilbron Thank you very much, but I'm experiencing an issue with my Fujifilm XS10 camera overheating. It only allows me to record 4K video for 20 minutes before displaying a red "overheating" warning. Could it be because I'm in a region with high temperatures in Asia? I'm filming in normal conditions at around 34-35°C without air conditioning. Could you please let me know if this is a defect?
Hi Maarten, watching your video about video! Thanks for all the important and useful information! One question - my X-S10 is not showing the mic levels on my screen and I can't figure out how to make them appear. Any ideas? Steve
Nice video! Is there a way to assign custom button to chose fast between af mode (afc or afs) because xs10 is missing a wheel front af button like one on xt series?
@@MaartenHeilbron thanks for the quick reply. I wanted to get Xt4 for slow mo 60fps. However I saw xs10 at least had 2k 60fps option. If that footage could be upscale to 4K in editing, that kind of take care of my slow mo smooth footage need. I tried to find any clip on UA-cam but no one has posted it. Considering the 2k footage is coming from crop sensor, it should be good enough
@@imranalijafar First, 60fps (2x) does not provide very much slow for your mo. In addition, I would not upscale HD to 4K -I'd leave that to a viewer who watches on a 4K display.

Thanks you for the great info as always! Much appreciated:)
Always my pleasure, thanks for your kind words.

Thank you for another excellent how to video. You are in deed the best source of this information on UA-cam, printed in a most enjoyable manner. Doesn’t feel like we are learning. Keep it up.
Thanks for your kind and encouraging words, they are appreciated.
If you have a USB-C power delivery battery or adapter, it will power the camera with minimal battery drain. Thanks for your kind words.
Your videos are so helpful for this Newby. You teach in a way that is easy to understand..nice and slow. But I'll confess, I still slow down the playback speed a bit so that I can follow along with my x s10. Thank you!
It's my pleasure, thanks for your kind words.

Always nice to know my videos are appreciated, thanks for your kind words.
Thanks for the tip. I always use manual focus when shooting myself on camera.
Thank you very much.
By far the best UA-camr if you ask me

Lovely video, learned a lot, thank you (just getting Fuji S10. )
Thanks, a pleasure to read your kind words.
Sorry about that. Admittedly, the 16-80 was used for most of the video. Thanks, your kind words are appreciated.
Your pause/hesitation style of narration is sweet. Do you narrate audio books?

Thanks for the info Maarten! Do you know if there is AF with slow motion?
I believe so, I didn't test, but can't imagine why it would not - the recording, after all, is done in real time.
@@MaartenHeilbron Thanks Maarten! I'm thinking they might remove this function to get you to go for the XT4. G9 and Eos M6ii they also have slow motion but not with autofocus. Not a big issue, but better have it than not!
Understood.
This is really useful, thank you! Is it possible for you to also do onw of this with the XS-10 best settings for photography please?
I generally feel that I cover that in my review - and there are many more variables to consider. However, if you want a quick photo without paying attention to the many settings, set the dial to Auto.
Love the lego man! So nostalgic!
Playmobil actually, but thanks. It's nice to have a career where I can still play.
Thank you for your grate video. I want to know that, is fuji x s10 is going to be a good 1st camera?
Yes, it's an excellent camera, for a novice or experienced photographer. Thanks, I appreciate your kind words.
@@MaartenHeilbron thank you
You are an absolute superstar Maarten.
Really good Video Maarten
Many thanks! Always nice to hear from an appreciative viewer.
@@jameswillows7303 When was I not fond of it? Every camera has quirks and irritations.

Thanks for your detail sharing. I would like to know what brand name of the mount adapter are you using for this video? I love your tutorial so much, from Hong Kong.
Am I missing something? I wasn't using a mount adapter - both the 16-80 and the MKX are native x-mount lenses. Thanks for your kind words.
Fantastic video so happy found your channel. Is it possible to set flog on the quick select function button?
What is the specific need or deficiency in the lenses you have that you are trying to solve?
Thank you for such a wonderful video about using X-S10. I recorded a video using my Fuji X-S10. However when I go to see the video using Fuji XRaw Studio, I cannot see any of the videos. What am I doing wrong?
It’s not you, it’s X-RAW studio. It can’t import or play video files, it only converts RAW files to JPEG images.
Hi, love ur videos and great work as always. Just a query does the xs10 supports UHS ii card. Can u also make a video on best settings for stills
Thanks for your kind words. Only UHS I. There are too many variations, situations and creative decisions to be able to do a generalized video about stills.
Nice tips even if I don’t shoot video. But I configured your recommendations.
Thanks, I hope you get a chance to use them!
Excellent!
Glad to hear you enjoyed the video, thanks for commenting.
Can this camera charge and shoot video at the same time? I have great appreciation for your teaching skills. Thank you.
Yes. Thanks for the kind words.
Amazing video. Thanks a ton!! Planning to buy XS 10. How is the 16 to 80 mm for video?
I appreciate your kind words. It is fine, as long as you don't change focal length while recording.
Although the Sony offers a bit more control, with a 200Mbps data rate, the X-S10 offers better quality.

Very good! Thank you!

@@MaartenHeilbron Aaaabsolutely deserved. You probably saved my very first production tomorrow :-D So: max grateful for such a great work.
Hi Maarten, apologies if you've already answered this. Can you recommend one of the two available kit lenses for general purpose, but video biased use? I'm excited to make my first investment in a camera, and the Fuji system.
Either the 18-55 or the 16-80 would be good general purpose lenses.

Great Video, thank you :)
Is it possible to record 1080p 60fps 4:2:2 with an external recorder?
Yes, but it depends on the camera's settings as well as the recorder's abilities.
Please tell us if this
camera has peaking in video mode, even after hitting the
REC button, the xt200 and xa7 unfortunately does not have this pretty
important feature in video mode during recording. Thank you!
Focus peaking is available in video mode.
Thanks, Maarten. I do have the PASM dial to video mode, and checked "mic level" on display custom settings, but no level appears.
Out of ideas, sorry. Have you tried to reset the camera?

thanks for the useful tips! some of them I applied for my xs10 camera. did you have an issue that a recording in 4k make the camera really hot and recording is going to be stopped with a red indicator of temperature. In the room I can't record more than 20-30 mins. I need to switch off the camera and wait 5-10 mins. but next recording will be shorter, maybe 15-20 mins
Thought I mentioned that in the video. Yes, it heats and overheats quickly - about as you described.
@@MaartenHeilbron thank you. Helps a lot. 👍
@@MaartenHeilbron thanks for your reply! Appreciate it much.
@@MaartenHeilbron Perfect. That will help for sure. I often shoot classical music concerts and will need the full-length video at times!

@@imranalijafar First, 60fps (2x) does not provide very much slow for your mo. In addition, I would not upscale HD to 4K -I'd leave that to a viewer who watches on a 4K display.
