blown away by this. Like.. this is the best versions of these songs I've ever heard. I must have been living under a rock. The big studio sound bob always wanted and the magic dynamics of the so called classic line-up.
AGGGHHHH!! Best version of Man called Aerodynamics ever! Holy shit! My goodness. I just heard that version for the first time. I'm knocked out. I need this in my stacks. Dammit.
I must agree - what a damned good music
I usually am a poor quality purist when it comes to gbv but my god that version of wondering boy poet is phenomenal
Best American Band Ever.
best ever period?
Period.
One of them, quite legitimately.
I'm in love all over again!
The kings of indie rock at the top of their game. Fucking great
At the top of their game...and they're still fantastic!
The good old Beeb gave Bob the perfect sound.
Beautiful rendition of Wondering Boy Poet. Great post here captain, much obliged to ya :)
It’s staggering in its sadness and beauty.
a very rare photo where Mitch is NOT smoking a cigarette
That transition moment from Party into Striped White Jets is sublime. Hope this session gets a legit release someday.
pretty convinced SWJ is my favorite gbv song..and that's a hard hill to stand on given bob's prolificity
Great session. I love how a bit of 'Acorns & Orioles' was included in this version of Cut-Out Witch.
Definitely rise to the occasion for Peel. Stellar GBV.
Piano version of wondering boy poet is so rich.
The versions on here are better than the album versions! Especially wondering boy poet, sounds so good with the piano.
That piano version is on Suitcase 1. Worth the purchase just for that.
An incredible way to start my Wednesday.
Cut Out Witch is a song that needed to be written....
lol it's so weird how Bob shaves off like ten years with a beanie on
God this thing has stood the test of time in our era of faux hip hop trash and pitchfork bullshit.
can't amazing music be appreciated without shitting on other stuff?
No
@@JE-xt6ol my favorites are the Propeller to Alien Lanes. Before the fanboy stuff, and Sprout's songs are always fantastic...Bob's the man, but you lose guys like Toby and Mitch, its a different band. the performance on Jon Stewart is classic and thats why...Mitch lighting a butt before he comes in on the second verse of Motor Away
Jai Winding on piano.
Strange, I would've just assumed it was Tobin since he's the one piano player in the band, doesn't devalue that version though
Guided By Beatles
Lead by Lennon :)
Lord of Overstock is a protest song about death of the little guy business?
Was this ever officially released on a physical format?!
John lennon was writing a song and yoko kept grabbing at his hands and ended song early.... track 1
The beeb are usually terrible at this sort of thing but GBV are the exception to all 👌
