I went to countless GBV shows back in the day, and that's exactly what it was like at GBV shows, the Church of GBV. "Alone Stinking & Unafraid" was like a religious experience in concert.
I saw the mighty GBV in Sydney circa 2000. Bob was walking through the audience and I was lucky enough to meet him and chat. Honestly, by the end of the night the stage was covered in beer cans. they sound great. was this the Cobra Verde lineup?. anyway, its all about survival and moving forward. i loved the original lineup, and these guys too. Isolation Drills is an amazing record. i love the fairly recent "live in Oslo" performance too. phases of the moon. its all good stuff
Ya, no, this is not the notoriously half assed cobra Verde lineup. It was pretty awful and Bob really did try to make it okay... But mercifully that lineup fell away...
@@kennyvasquez8007 Doug Gillard is from Cobra Verde. He's playing guitar in this video, and is still a member of GBV.
