  • In this video we mechanically bond the top of the 300sx to the bottom of the waveblaster 2. In the next video we should start laying down some fiber glass. Make sure to subscribe for more videos!

On the fiberglass lay down can you make that a longer video talking or not just being able to see you work fiberglass would be super helpful for me as I’ve got a js550 I’ve gotta touch up on the front

Just as a heads up you can use epoxy resin with mat as well! You should be good to go!

Kawasaki hulls are smc so epoxy resin works best with them

you mentioned 2-3 layers.. I assume that is e-glass mat, if it is only 10oz, id shoot for at least 80-100oz total layup to tie everything together - counting the inside and outside total. The bottom of the ski in the main structure of the hull, especially important that it is strong to handle the landing up side down, which will happen during the learning to flip process. Saving weight is also important, but cracking the hull during the first couple rides would be a real bummer.

True that man, I will shoot for that 80-100oz number, I appreciate the help!

Super interested in this I've wanted to get, build a freestyle ski. Wondering why you dont think it will flat water. Is it because you are keeping the motor stock?

Mainly because of weight, I’m afraid after I do all of my fiberglass work. It’s going to be pretty heavy. And the fact I’ll be keeping the motor stock as of right now
