I really wish I could have made it, Knox. Firstly, I am autistic and at the moment, I am hyperfixating on your channel and reviving my special interest, which is the music of Eminem. I've been wanting to join a live for months since I discovered you but I haven't had a chance yet. I've been busy with school work most Saturdays. That said, maybe I can make it next time. It would be awesome to have a chance to talk to you, as I have been a nearly lifelong Eminem fan. I'm fairly young (I'm 17) and outside of Eminem, I did not have much knowledge of hip-hop culture. I'm very into metal and so I've mostly stayed away from the genre. Until I came across you, Knox. You've taught me so much about hip-hop history, and what makes a good hip-hop song with technicals and other such things. Thanks to you, I'm noticing doubles and triples, paying attention to syllabic schemes, and other such things. If you've made it this far, Knox, I just want you to know that you single-handedly rekindled my love for Eminem, and as a result, I've branched into more hip-hop. Thank you for the impact you've made on me, regardless of whether you know just how much of an impact it is.

The female voice in the song IS Mariah's and it's not from voice mails (he only threatened to release them), I saw a few people during the breakdown saying it was someone else doing the voice, but no that's not the case. Back in early 2002 during making of TES, Em and Mariah had their fling. She was originally supposed to be on the album. They had a recording session at Eminem's studio and Mariah played around in the booth, jokingly called herself Mary Poppins. The voice in ''The Warning'' is from that studio session, which he also mention in the song ''I'm mixing our studio session down and sending it to mastering to make it loud'' which was sampled in to fit Dre's beat. In the last few second's when she says ''cut the tape, knife!'' you can actually hear the original beat they recorded on quietly in the background.
Back in 2005 he also played the same audio of her during AMT3

This is wrong in so many ways! First of all, that's not even how Mariah talks and the mails are not even remotely similar to Mariah's voice! He's been obsessed with her for years and once she made Obsessed, he made more songs about her, proving her point! Those mails are fake and he's just been obsessed with her because he couldn't be with her, lol!

It's funny that even the band Sonic Youth made a song dissing Mariah called the "Mariah Carey and Arthur Doyle handcream song" where Kim Gordon sings "how was yr date with Eminem?" And its about her mental breakdown as the chorus is" hey hey little baby breakdown" very obscure band to most. But put out in 2003 on Sonic Nurse. Possibly one of my favorite albums by the band. One of my most influential bands of all time. But unheard of by many especially now. Really only had a little success when they had Chuck D on one of their songs in 1990 Kool Thing. When they were on geffen records. Interesting enough they were able to bring Nirvana to the major label. So. Yeah. Little side note there

Personally I think the "Chaka Khan" sound when he does the "shuck a corn" rhyme is another diss at Mariah Carey. Since he's coming at Mariah and Nick Cannon in this track, while also linking it back to the serial killer/movie monsters and Em slaying all of them. Remember that Em first dissed Mariah in 2002 Superman with "What are you tryin' to be my new wife? What you, Mariah? Fly through twice" and she denied they'd ever dated. They'd met to talk about collaborating on Superman, but I guess after the split he used someone else for female vocals instead. So Mariah and Em met and dated for about six months sometime around the late 90s/early 200s, around the same time Mariah, Chaka Chan, and many other legends were performing in the VH1 Divas from 1998 - into the early/mid 2000s, and having their performances judged, compared and ranked.
Mariah is often ranked among the greatest female singers, and is labelled a diva both in that she's an incredibly talented performer with a huge range; but also a reputation of being bossy, demanding, and hard to work with. I think he's referring to the comparisons of Mariah to legends like Chaka Khan, Aretha Franklin, and especially the VH1 divas performances that Mariah did in '98, Chaka Khan was a headliner in '99, and Mariah's insecurity in being compared to the greats. The 98 performance with Mariah was great, but Mariah apparently hates Celine Dion still because Mariah didn't step up when Aretha was calling for one of the other divas to sing with her at the end in a testimonial gospel style. Aretha hugged Mariah and they sang together briefly, but Mariah returned to the background and didn't sing 1-1 "higher" like Aretha was asking, but Celine did step up, and she and Aretha slayed. I personally think Mariah was trying to be respectful and not look as though she was trying to outshine the legend Aretha, but others say she chickened out because she doesn't know how to do the freestyle gospel 1-1 raising it higher when the two singers go face to face, but in a beautiful way, not trying to "one-up" each other, but bringing out the best in each other.
So yeah, long story, and I could be wrong, but that's my theory! He's taking a shot at her insecurities and would know how she was being compared and judged against greats like Chaka Khan. Always so many layers and depth even in the little background shots, like you said! That's why I'm loving these breakdowns so much. I was a young adult and into both of their music in that time period, so I love the Divas and greats, but also love Em and his incredible talent and shade!
