Wow its so cool how you can randomly meet level creators among the community. Deep Blue is so far (12/18 played) my favourite intermediate map. Thank you for it.
I cheesed deep blue and it took me like 2 hours because I couldn’t figure out what he proper way to beet but at the end I was still left wanting more of it
minor correction: buffering an ultra jump doesn't kill your speed, you just don't get the 1.2x speed boost from touching the ground. if you only hear the jump sound and not the footstep sound, you buffered the jump really interesting video though! SJ really is something special, and this video does an excellent job of getting that across; though i can't watch all of it because i don't want to spoil the remaining expert maps i have to clear
24:30 no way! That's my name! Nice video! Your reactions are great and the content is well-edited. (And I'm super glad you wanted to highlight this mod).
It’s been a while since a UA-cam video gripped me this tightly. 1 hour and I didn’t even think about checking the watch time. Amazing job getting to gm, and I wish you luck on the rest of the maps! (P.S. I got much more consistent at core hypers by demo-hypering a little bit after the block disappeared, hope that helps!)
Such a good video covering so many aspects of SJ! Fun fact related to 13:46: some other ways to dash while holding a throwable include using a feather, swimming, and some really jank frame perfect (or at least very precise) timing after hitting a bumper
Ahhhhh! Super appreciate the correction! (that was the most tactful fact-check ever haha) The many dangers of trying to demonstrate something only recently learned. Thanks again!
Dashing with a throwable after hitting a bumper may have something to do with bumper freeze frames (since it's possible to do the same with fish as well) so the frame window is likely somewhere around 4-5 frames
I have to say, most Celeste content I find on UA-cam has a lot of incorrect info or it doesn’t show a lot of gameplay to include the watcher into the mod or game, but this video was really well done, and if this is your first video, then this is extremely impressive :3

dang, what a fantastic video. the actual content (i.e. the video essay and whatnot) is really, really well put together, and the editing of footage is super well done, but what _really_ impressed me was how GOOD the sound mixing was. great transitions, music choices, blending - it's all really, really, good. honestly super fun to watch and enjoy, and i look forward to more from you!
Just getting into the game on Switch after owning it for years and finally deciding to clear it in the last few days but this video has inspired me to rebuy the game on Steam Deck and set up Strawberry Jam as soon as I have the cash. Love the mix of reactions, explanations and information. Thanks! Would have been curious to see parts you got stuck on or found particularly difficult earlier on, you make it look so easy here 😅

A great video, especially for your first video! Was really enjoyable to watch, but it would have been nice if you explained what heartsides were because they are one of my favourite features of this mod. Still, great video nonetheless! Have a sub.
Wow yeah, I totally spaced on describing Heartsides. I'll *pretend* it was done on purpose so folks can be surprised when they walk through the heart gate haha :)
Really well made video, especially for a channel with just 70 subs! the only critique id have to give myself is the audio balancing, the voice is quite a bit quiet compared to the music and audio effects, which made it hard for me to concentrate on what was spoken.
One thing that is hard to express is just how big strawberry jam is. For perspective, the all levels tas is currently just under 3 hours long(igt). In other words, you litteraly cannot showcase the whole mod in one video of any reasonable length. Even if we just included the best half of the levels that would still make the video a lot longer(or would force worse showcases). And would still miss many many good levels.
really cool video, i do have one question: why’d you decide to remove the original music from some of the levels? that’s one of my favorite things about the mod
Really well made video! I love your editing and commentary style, and this was a great showcase of SJ! By the way, are you using savestates for practice at all? Some grandmaster maps basically require it Edit: I had headphones in and could hear the subway go from left to right at the end of subway neon, the attention to detail is crazy

Your editing skills are really impressive! I’m curious to know what sort of content you’ll be posting on this channel in the future. Judging by your name, I’d expect Stormlight Archive videos, but Celeste is pretty far from that series. Regardless, I’m looking forward to whatever you’ve got cooking.

insanely well made video, holy shit, and definitely a great sj showcase!! (would i be able to ask which song you were using for the later half of the psychokinetic section? it's so familiar to me, but i can't seem to place where it came from lol)

Strawberry Jam does a remarkable job with pacing and the difficulty curve. When I see all these talented folks do deathless (silver berry) runs of SJ maps, I too feel like I have much to improve on.
did you know: the roses from rose garden in the beginner lobby, the very first level you showed, are actually resprites of the red propellor boxes from skyline usurper in the expert lobby?
The tech tutorial part of the video is exactly why I am never going to be able to do anything past beginner lobby which stinks cause I already completed the lobby and just want more but I have a skill issue
For video pacing reasons, I combined all of the Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Expert lobby gyms into one section. So it probably looks way more intimidating than it actually is. There's actually a nice difficulty curve when learning the mechanics for each lobby. Give the Intermediate a try! You'll probably surprise yourself :)

@@windrunner6511I just randomly restumbled across this vid! Thanks for replying to my comment and the SJ journey is going great! I've been able to do 4 expert levels, do every gm tech, and even beat some rooms in kevintechspam.bin. :3
As a puzzle fan, I must say I'm disappointed... that said, the puzzles were totally uncalled for in a platformer game and it is incredibly infuriating that every level finish is needed to unlock some stuff (and some levels were just... bad). I'm only in advanced lobby and... holy shit, I didn't realise how cursed it gets later on (with the techniques). I absolutely refuse to use the binoculars. If a level _needs_ these, it's a bad level in my mind. I absolutely loved how Squaring the Circle just gave you the directions in the bubbles. 46:12 Yosi Horikawa's music definitely fit for the levels you chose. Disasterpeace would also fit here (46:12) because, you know, Hyper Light Drifter level? Eager to try that one but, until then, Paint (54:13) is my favourite by far.
This game is deterministic i.e 0 RNG, and running calculations on a per-frame basis with a variable definition of a frame's length would introduce an element of randomness. Raising FPS or making it variable would impact timings for some of the game's more precise tech to the point of being impractical for humans, whether it be due to a short or inconsistent window for input. While I can get the dislike of a lower framerate in general, the 60fps cap was one of many deliberate decisions that enable players to execute the kinds of maneuvers you will see in speedruns or higher difficulty levels.
wow this was a really well made fun video to watch, cool to see a relatively new players perspective and kinda their journey and thoughts on the mod in video form, would love to see more stuff from you in the future keep up the good work !

@@scroogledoogle3028 Then they should force it to run at 1000hz, it can be done i bet.
Just skip through the whole puzzle map i guess skill is better than thinking💀💀
The clockwork level aesthetics aren't as good as the others.
