  • June 3, 2023 - We walked to the dam and around this nearly deserted ghost town that used to be a powerhouse... Its powerhouse still supplies electricity to 3 communities. Explored a giant 6 story concrete apartment building, large warehouses and boathouse, businesses and offices, a Tudor style lodge, small hotel, and a former inn that was the largest on the Canadian coast. 2- story cottages centered around a large tennis court. All crumbling. Stopped to get ice cream from the Little Licker Store. A young couple with 3 children run it, along with a small hotel that serves 3 meals per stay. They homeschool, bake as a side business, have several gardens, and split wood for the winter. Filmed inside some of the buildings when a resident told us that bulldozers were coming to raze old properties.

Thanks dear for sharing your experiences and the history of these little places. ♥️ Looks like it was quite a bustling little town in it's hey day! Sad it's unused and abandoned now. The houses and buildings were once so beautiful and cared for. 😢❤
    Thanks for sharing!

Hi Melissa! Thanks for watching. (I didn't know if anyone would be interested). It is sad, as it was a close community. Currently, one small family is managing to live there (they run a small B&B, bakery, ice cream shop, and sell cut wood. It's very lonely.
