Nice tutorial. Looks like a good way to make a shallow bowl….. but question: you pull/throw side walls, which thins them - does this not result in uneven ratio of wall thickness of [sides:floor]? I don’t understand. Thank you.
If I wanted to make a pot 10cm in height and 30cm in diameter slightly slanting out would I need the slab to be more than 1/2” so I can get the height? Thank you
I just love the simple beauty of this pot!☺️❤️🌹
👍🏻
First, you starta wid da Pizza pie....
Wow, excellent tutorial! I’d love to try making more things on the wheel starting with a slab! 我最喜歡看你的視頻!謝謝!

I intentionally left the slab a bit thicker than I normally do. I was planning to trim the foot on this piece.
I really wish I could come and do some training with you, so inspiring thank you

If you are planning to trim a foot than you can use thicker slab, otherwise normal thickness should be ok to achieve the dimensions.
Thank you for sharing this interesting way to make an Ikebana vase. May I ask what are the finished dimensions. Thank you.
Approximately 8” diameter and 3 1/2” in height.
How much did the slab weigh in the start?
0:39
I seldom weight my clay, especially for slab projects. You can roll the slab wider then trim the excess off.
How many grams of clay do you use?
No idea. It’s approximately 3/4” thick.
Thank you for sharing! How thick is the slab when you start work with?
Slightly over 1/2”
Thank you
No need to compressed bottom?
It had been compressed through a slab roller.
