I have to say watching you is amazing. I have been throwing for about 7 years now, and i have come to the conclusion I have my wheel speed to fast. I throw super thin like that (even though my instructor used to get so mad at me for it). I am amazed and I am subscribing because I just got back into throwing and it will be nice to use you as my "teacher" so to speak.
Some art college trained tutors are inflexible about their approach to throwing. When you look at various techniques and approaches that potters around the world utilise to make wonderful pots then you realise that many things can work...
I used my metal rib on the inside as you show and I was quite pleased with how ice the curve comes out. I was even able to add a nice wide rim. It does require practise, but it is well worth it. Thank you sir.
Hsinchuen. I've watched your videos for a while now. Many thanks for sharing not only your talent but your knowledge and experience. I appreciate it a lot. It is a joy to watch. I do have a question. What is your preferred mix you use for your porcelain?
Well thank you once again for your generous patience in sharing this technique as well as many others. Am constantly in awe of the 'small' tips - they have changed my working ways often with terrific results. Deep gratitude for all that you show us. . .xd
Hi... Just getting back into throwing after 17 YEARS!! 😅 Just wondering what the radius of your wheel is? Please! Thanks for the awesome videos.... I really need them!
8 months later, but I don't see it in the title, it just says throwing a 4 lb thin wall bowl? Curious too, I have a really hard time throwing tall/big with most clays and would love recommendations
Thank you for sharing your videos. I love watching you work, not only do I appreciate your skills. I think your work is beautiful and I find watching your videos so relaxing. I look forward to many more.
@@hsinchuen Hi, thank you for sharing your knowledge. You are soooo talented. I would like to purchase the round wooden rib. Do the sizes of the ribs correspond with the clay weight you are throwing?
I used a Shimpo Whisper for five years without issue, but my friends had a single ball bearing go out and it was way louder than any Brent I have been around. Great wheel and the foot pedal/hand shift is nice, but when the bearing goes out it gets extremely noisy.
You are the best teacher!! Thank you for bringing this joy into my life.

So clear, easy to follow. Thanks, learn a great deal from you.

Trop cool! Super!
hey i am wanting to start a new youtube channel for pottery and I was wondering if I could get a couple tips
Why is it that you never have to use the needle tool, when I throw..... I always have to remove clay from the lip.
you need to compress the rim each time you pull up
Where did you find the round rib? I love watching you throwing!
Please check my website Mypots.net
I found it. I thought you purchased it from another source. Thank you!

amazing artwork, checking your shop
Dude, that's fucking amazing!
I wish Brent wheels didn't have the motor noise.
My school just got a super quiet one. I have a Shimpo whisper and i don't even know its on unless I look at the wheel itself.
Good to know, thanks.
