I just imagine Danaher "as you can see, with the strangle fully locked, Placido has immediately turned purple. Now, I switch to apply the figure of four across his carotid artery, and if he was still conscious, he would have already tapped"

Thank you! This solved it for me. Had watched Gordon's instructional, and it had been working great up to a point. This video made me realise I keep my feet way too close to opponent when camping, so it's been easy for people to grab and offbalance my legs.

Dope video per usual 🔥 I would love to see a video breaking down some camping inside of your opponents guard, kind of like how Gordon did in his Gaudio match. The way he kept his hips low and heavy and swatted out Gaudio's butterfly hooks was a thing of beauty. Keep up with the great content Placido! You and Brian Glick are lifesavers 😂😂

Awesome as always! Would love to see something on gripping strategies and initial engagement phase. Seen almost all the DDS instructionals and Gordon covers it the most, but still seems to just scratch the surface.

    Thanks for the details!
I saw a John Danaher video, with you in it earlier, showing this camping part and something else (I didn't have time to watch all of it), but that video seems to have disappeared. Hope they bring it back.

Thanks! very clear instruction here. Would love to see a video of How do you stop or escape someone J point Camping on you. I usually try to pry the head up and high leg pummel back in but this too is very exhausting and if it doesnt work im almost certainly getting passed.

Great suggestion! When someone is camping main objective is to deny the three main points of contact, the hip, the knee and the shoulder.

awesome stuff thanks placido. what do you do if they have a low knee shield/z guard so you cant get inside position with the elbow inside their hip?

Good question! this needs to be addressed in a future video!

Continue to control the low knee but use the arm that had inside position to cage the hip and prevent lateral movement. You’ll to adjust your angle so that your hip is not at the end of the femur but rather on the shin or past the leg entirely. The level change/head positioning is crucial. It prevents them from employing a chest escape and getting up to their elbow to build a stronger base.
