WHAT AN ENDING. The fact that Mitsuda only uses this very specific low whistle and e. guitar combo when Joanne Hogg sings makes it so much more special. The feeling of reconciliation and rejoining the rest of the Xeno series.
@@thetadpoleprince2250 The penny whistle (also called a tin whistle) is significantly higher register than this instrument. This instrument is called a low whistle.
My genuine favorite part of this song, is the fact that the post credits scene that includes the last bit of lyrics, is actually part of this. It really does feel like it's adding this bit of closure, and through music, which is SUCH a Xenoblade move. Also makes me appreciate this even more.
Future Awaits is a song that I feel should be more special than it actually is as impossible as it sounds considering how it represents the culmination of 13+ years of storytelling. Namely, the themes behind the song are some of the most human and compassionate of any song I've ever heard; the song knows that you are afraid of the future because of the uncertainty that comes with it but still assures you that as long as you have a future, then you can still live your life to your fullest. It asks you to not be paralyzed by the winding paths of uncertainty but rather take the initiative to walk down them
Mitsuda the king, bringing back so much just for those who remember. When that low whistle came in, I just started crying. No better way to convey the finality of it all.
Lyrics (written by Tetsuya Takahashi, translated by Lisa Gomamoto): You're standing at a loss In front of a door That's been closed for so long With your foreseeing eyes What do you see? Until you open it, you cannot know Afraid to see What could be on the other side Oh can't you see ... How much I feel the same as you It seems ... We just need to let it all go free I've seen that look before The stare of your fearful looking eyes That quiet voice inside, what do you hear? Will you give up And stay where you belong Afraid your time It just might take too long And you won't know Unless we keep on trying Now we need the strength to carry on Our voices might not be heard And it doesn't matter if we fail But if there is a future That's where we'll set our sights From one sure step, We'll walk hand in hand Just the two of us If you feel you've got no guidance I will always be near, right beside you If you think you've lost your way We will walk this path together For our future awaits I see you by the door So ... Just walk through Don't take too long 'Cause everything you've said You'll find it there ...... in our future
If there is a future that Xenogears sold enough copies and become part of Final Fantasy, there will not be such beautiful of mind we hearing in this song.
i think it’s good to acknowledge that the xenoblade music uploads on nintendo melody were taken down due to the channel being taken down for having pokemon and zelda music as well. it seems like it wasn’t because of the xenoblade music so that’s a bit of hope
in the end the two world become one properly again exceeding everyone expectations, because Nia and Melia only expecting Origin to restore the two worlds and the two worlds will go their separate ways again, but against all odds Origin manage to properly restore the two worlds and make them one again while also restoring the original people and places from the two worlds to their original state as we can see in the main XB3 ending. Shulk and Rex should also be revived like everyone else free from their Avatar duty for the Origin as the new world is a real world unlike Aionios which is a fake temporary world that needed Origin, so the new real world doesnt really need Origin to continue its existence like how it was before Origin was created.

Legendary ending to a legendary story. I wonder who the song is referring to exactly? My guess was the Aegis', given the placement of the lyrics in congruence with the visuals.
Not that I don't adore the song or Joanne Hogg, but I'm a little surprised that there's no Japanese version like with Beyond The Sky. ***I suppose it isn't nessesary, but even still......
Honestly, I feel like the lack of a Japanese version is more of an intentional callback to the ending theme of Xenogears. Given they got the original vocalist back, along with the same flute.
This is the ending theme I would imagine Princess Celestia singing. Not that I dislike Joanne Hogg's singing, considering that it's unarguably brilliant.
The fact that Joanne Hogg was brought back is still crazy to me omg
“I was here at the beginning, and now I will proclaim the end”
One final goodbye! A goodbye to an era. From 1998 to 2023. Perfect Works has been completed!
Happy 25th anniversary, Monolith
Replaying xenosaga now!

I haven't seen anyone comment about the part of this song that I think is the best. Mitsuda brought back the Xenogears flute
For Mitsuda is Xeno
*For me Mitsuda is Xeno
in case you didn't know the flute is called a Penny whistle ^^

These really have been the Xenoblade Chronicles.
(Shut up, Reyn.)
Xenoblade Fans cry about the story, I cry because of the music.
No matter what era of Xeno, we always get to enjoy Joanne Hogg‘s beautiful voice!

Takahashi and monolith soft are extremely rare talents. Best to ever lace them up honestly
Yeah. And I’m still disappointed God of War and Elden Ring made Xenoblade 3 feel like talentless games.

I truly believe this is the perfect song to be the overarching leitmotif of Xenoblade as a whole.
"Matthew... Always in fantasy land."

What an amazing callback to Xenogears. Why does this song makes me so misty eyed?
i think this is my favorite lyrical song in xenoblade, i can’t get over that flute, it sounds so celtic i love it so much
No wonder since it's the very same flute used in Xenogears's Irish-inspired music
Lyrics (written by Tetsuya Takahashi, translated by Lisa Gomamoto):
You're standing at a loss
In front of a door
That's been closed for so long
With your foreseeing eyes
What do you see?
Until you open it, you cannot know
Afraid to see
What could be on the other side
Oh can't you see ...
How much I feel the same as you
It seems ... We just need to let it all go free
I've seen that look before
The stare of your fearful looking eyes
That quiet voice inside, what do you hear?
Will you give up
And stay where you belong
Afraid your time
It just might take too long
And you won't know
Unless we keep on trying
Now we need the strength to carry on
Our voices might not be heard
And it doesn't matter if we fail
But if there is a future
That's where we'll set our sights
From one sure step,
We'll walk hand in hand
Just the two of us
If you feel you've got no guidance
I will always be near, right beside you
If you think you've lost your way
We will walk this path together
For our future awaits
I see you by the door
So ... Just walk through
Don't take too long
'Cause everything you've said
You'll find it there ...... in our future
There's always one, thanks.
Thank you for the soundtrack
You're welcome

Piano: Xenoblade 1
Strings: Xenoblade 2
Flute: Xenoblade 3
The flute is primarily an homage to Xenogears' "Small Two Of Pieces", I warmly recommend you to listen to that masterpiece
This song is very much a love letter to Xenogears and Xenosaga Episode 1, not the Blade Games

FWIW even in the original Japanese wii version the song plays in english, the JP version of BTS was only released online.
