Civic type R 2016 onwards whether FK2/8 or FL5 have Nurburgring records galore, all set with all the factory seats; no additional bracing. Top 5 is tricky but no type R is difficult to justify IMHO. 4x4 and FWD hatches should be separated perhaps?
FL5 is waaaay too pricey for any of these lists yet! FK8 is a good shout, although the integrity of Honda laptimes is at least as questionable as the other hot hatches! These FWD hot hatches are fast, but a 997 GT3RS...well, if the same driver lapped them on comparable modern tyres, I'm not just betting on the Porsche, I'd expect it to lap the hatch in 5-6 laps. All that said, in my experience (11 hot hatches driven in the last 12 months alone, including an FK8 but no FL5/FK2 yet), there appears to be a very direct correlation between 'Ring times and fun - the more they focus on setting a 'Ring time, the less fun the car is on a public road. I'm planning to try an i20N soon though, that might be the exception since they're apparently a riot but also pretty damned quick on a lap (possibly quicker than the i30N on many tracks).
Because they aren’t limited and will most likely eventually just depreciate down and down. The cars on this list are very rare and will hold value if not go up.
Have you driven a Ford Focus RS (2016 onwards) ? This should be on the list, surely. This car is brilliant to drive and sticks to the road brilliantly. Haven't got one, but my big brother had one and in black it was not only a looker, it was fantastic to drive and the noise it made was sweeeeet too. As hot hatches go, for the price, what's not to like?!!😳🥳😎
I thought I'd be on my own but I agree that renault is a masterpiece of how to get somewhere quickly...if you looked after it you wouldn't lose any money either😊
I had a 106 GTi chipped an cammed 4 branch manifold ram induction kit pipercross straight through exhaust uprated bottom end lightened flywheel it was running close to 180 bhp
The 2.3L Turbocharged Ecoboost engine of the ford focus RS outputs close to 350BHP taking it to 60 mph in 4.7s. Plenty of examples are available ranging in price from £20k for a 2016 example with almost 100k miles on the clock to £40k for a 2018 example with as little as 5k miles. One would need to shop around to get one, but they can be a real classic if kept in good nick. Their popularity should make them a classic particularly because of their nickname, the ASBO! I like this vehicle and sure, everyone has one but getting one in stealth grey or nitrous blue would be brilliant. There are loads of things that go wrong with the focus. However, loads of examples abound and user forums are a font of information for repairs and self-managed maintenance. This is arguably faster than those listed here (except the a45) but its "pièce de résistance" is the best handling in the class making it a superweapon on wheels.
Unfortunately the mini didn’t come with the centre lock wheels or harnesses as were on the concept (definitely the centre locks anyway). I really like the GP3, they just made it a little more ‘normal’ as 3000 were being made rather than say 100. But I think from concept to reality they did really well with it. Yes maybe for some people if it had a manual gearbox they would have liked it more, but it’s just a fun limited edition more purposeful mini with styling that means you don’t mistake it for just another JCW.
Yes fast but A45 will cost you on servicing with a major service up to £1k. The Audi S3 can do 0 to 60 in 4.5 seconds and will be cheaper to service. Hyundai I40N 2017 first gen are cheap, quick and handle better than automatics on track. Golf Club sport was revised as the I30N made the Golf GTI look slow.
I like all the cars on this list apart from the A45 really, although if a 997 GT3RS on modern tyres was independently tested on track against these cars that are apparently quicker...well, all I'll say is that I'm sure manufacturer-posted 'Ring times are entirely trustworthy and 100% representative. None of them, for example Honda, have ever set a time with a car blatantly modified in a way that they won't offer to customers. Everything, such as the gearing and boost, seem fully above board. To answer the question though, Pug 306 GTi-6 all day, every day for me. There are a few which could be 2nd place, but that thing is a masterpiece.
Haha you are correct - the civics seem to be running non standard parts all the time, and agree re rubber too, but a fun little comparison nonetheless! (And at the ring it’s crazy how many Meganes and Civics are absolutely smashing around there). Need a go in a 306 before I can properly comment!
GR Yaris rockett
Want one badly!
Let me know if you fancy a go😉
i m suprised that the bmw m135/40 wasnt on this list
Same
don't be
They won’t ever go up in price as they are so many built unless they do a limited run
I love JB, but he’s slipping. Only kiddin.😂
The mini is a bmw to be fair 😂😂
Mate fair play to you, you are very dedicated to this channel I have to say I got a lot of respect for you
That’s what you call pure passion

How is the m135/m140 not on this, being the only 3 litre rwd hot hatch
Agree especially since you can actually get quite a clean m135i for 15k

That Megane is just mental.
Honestly, I think I would buy one… £45k I’m not sure you’d get a more capable and cool hot hatch
@@CarsWithJB tru tru, but 45k... eh I'd rather have an F10 M5
I thought I'd be on my own but I agree that renault is a masterpiece of how to get somewhere quickly...if you looked after it you wouldn't lose any money either😊
@@thadynakat but it's not a hit hatch..so by definition!!! Mind you those M5 V10 were very special..
@@MrSandalwood very tru! let's just say i'm stretching the boundaries a little 🤣🤣
Love these hot hatchbacks videos , can you do one for under 5k again , thank you :)

BMW M140i Shadow Edition
That’s a good shout - love the M140i even standard
Pozdrav iz Srbije brate!
JB should do a Brabus and/or Alipina top 10. The D3 is a interesting one for people without deep pockets.
New vid baby

Totally agree! Having driven it up in mountains of Northern France I 100% agree with this comment. A stunning performing car indeed!🥳
Is it possible to create a video for saloon or coupes under 25k?
Second this

Can you do one for best daily driver hatchbacks?

8Y RS3 sportback is my favourite car

Golf gti TCR absolutely mental car you missed this one off the list
2015/2016 RS3 is pretty special and rare. Might be a furtue classic. Values are strong.
I think the same with the 2017-2018
thank you
Do supercharged cars under £10000
I want them all, but can't afford any of them.
Fuck my life 😂
Is it just me or is car and bike insurance absolutely shooting through the roof especially with in London absolutely ridiculous
i need an a45 🥲
Mate, mad fast - I will say the interiors don’t feel as premium as they should!
