I found out about Band-Maid early in 2022 and was puzzled why I hadn't heard anything about them before. It wasn't long until I heard them do "Onset" live and that's when I realized that I was witnessing genius. This was an instrumental on the same level as RUSH performing "YYZ" and I didn't think they could top it. Then they released the "From Now On" MV and proved me wrong. Band-Maid continues to delight their fans release after release and Okyu-ji after Okyu-ji by somehow managing to be incrementally better *every time.* The Maid work hard on their "Stretch Goals."
I saw them perform twice last May and I can confirm that their live perfomances Do Not Disappoint. Live onstage, they are unbelievably good. "From Now On" is currently a fixture during their live shows and they nail it every time.
The more you learn about Band-Maid, the more you respect what they're doing and how they got where they are. They worked hard to get where they are, their early days weren't smooth sailing, and they almost didn't survive the process. Today they compose all their own music and produce almost entirely on their own: they have complete creative control, even down to album art and merchandising. The ladies of Band-Maid run a tight business and you could do worse than to use Band-Maid as a templatre for a business model.
BTW: Band-Maid creates their backing tracks entirely on their own. So when you hear voilins, piano, bass pedals, distorted voices, synths, and electronic drums, it's all their own work. Misa and Kanami are excellent pianists and often compose on piano and both do MIDI programing. Akane programs their click tracks.

Many of us recently saw Band-Maid play “From Now On” live. OMNG! Kanami riffed her ass off. And the DB’s matched the BPM’s! So FROM NOW ON, Band-Maid will grow in popularity even faster as their awesome, sold out 2023 BAND-MAID 10TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR wraps up in Japan. Their recent Japan tour just concluded with 17 concerts, AND they’re writing and recording for their new album. Their 10th Anniversary Tour concludes at Japan’s 17,000 seat Yokohama Arena on Nov. 26, 2023!
The Maids are one of the hardest working super groups in the business! Their music, their sound, each of the Maids... and the love that permeates their live events is an experience not to be missed. Hope you can catch them LIVE! Thx, Chris & Sam!

This is a epic instrumental song where Kanami is the vocals with her guitar! "Without Holding Back", "Onset", "Hand Wash", "Dawn Winery Theme" and "Don't Be Long" are all excellent instrumental songs from Band-Maid! There are instrumental versions of songs that have vocals but my favorite is "Giovanni"! It's a great song with vocals, but in an instrumental format it takes on another life! Fun fact, "Play" was originally intended as a instrumental song, but Saiki loved it and wanted to be a part, so she asked Miku to add lyrics and turned it into the masterpiece that we have now! Enjoy!

She wears herself ragged trying to improve and refine and progress and enhance all her skills for not only herself but for us too. I marvel at the fact that she hasn't produced a song that I don't like (of course the rest of the band has something to do with that also). Achi is also a dab hand at the other instruments and stuff. Remember she was a classical musician first too.
MISA started with electric bass and front of house sound (PA)she later focused on bass. If you focus on bass in one of the best music academies in the world and then continue with such a solid band of perfectionist grafters, it's a good set of ingredients for greatness.
Also notable that there is at least one shot of the band with their engineer on stage and he has his arm around MISA.

Want another instrumental? I think I've seen a few suggest it the past...saying Offset should review "On Set", official live from the BM channel. "Without Holding Back" is another awesome instrumental. Not on their official page but you can find it posted in YT. "Don't be Long" a bit harder to find the original MV on YT, but "Band Maid - Don’t Be Long (Instrumental) Gramercy Theatre NYC" is a good one to watch if you can't find the original.
"Play", which you haven't done yet, originally started off as an instrumental. But it is said Saiki said it was so fun, she had Miku add lyrics to it.
A great duel reaction, would be "Secret My Lips". Follow it up with the a cover band, who is equally good as Band-Maid themselves. Band-Maiko, with their version called "Secret Maiko Lips". Funny how these two bands are never in the same room at the same time....🤔
Instrumentals are used to give Saiki a break in their full shows. An instrumental along with a Miku lead song, often followed by a MC session.

I don't care what anyone else says, Kanami Tono is the Rock Mozart of the 21st Century. She is otherworldly in her complex and beautiful compositions. There is literally no one else like her. I mean, Machiya from Wagakki Band is an amazing composer and arranger and has very few peers, but Kanami is..................like an alien from another world. Her guitar work is stellar and it rubs off on Misa, and especially her prize student Miku, who has become an excellent rhythm guitarist under Kanami's tutelage. She lends such a crucial bridging effect to the power trio of Kanami, Misa and Akane. I hate reusing superlatives, but with Band Maid you have no choice at all. There have to be some new ones made up for them. When I first saw them last October 28th and heard Domination up close and personal, I was stunned. So much so that I went out and hit up a scalper for tickets for the show on the 30th in New Jersey. I don't think that there are too many bands that work at their craft that hard AND engage with their fans the way they do. It's a true love affair between Band Maid and the fans. But the best for me is Kanami's temperament, so quiet and unassuming and shy..........until she gets on the stage. Can't wait to see them again. I hope annual US tours become a habit with them. Okay, I'll shut up now.

Bands are catching up on 3 years they missed.
You aren't going to get DVD quality concert footage that's new not for a while.
Idk why you came up with that policy but you should really re think it.
All you are going to get is Love Bites and Band Maid because they mass produce more than other bands.
Its more interesting to explore a bands history and the evolution of their sound.

No vocals on this one it's purely Instrumental. You guys don't have to react to it, but there is an awesome recording by Vladimir Chupin who recorded this during their Boston show "Paradise Rock Club" in the fall 2022 it's just as awesome live. I'd link it, but I've seen these posts auto-deleted when I do.

Do any of y'all get the Sense like I do, that Band Maid is finally truly breaking out, sorry, breaking new gate?? I see new reactors all the time now on YT, and the already on-board reactors realizing that these ladies are THE band right now, no matter how many other bands they review.
Here's the thing. Band Maid has maid ( pun intended! ) their mark already, anybody who falls into their 10 yr rabbit hole will find an existing catalog of compositions 90% of the bands in the R & R Hall of Fame couldn't come close to , nor play as well live. The only thing they have lacked coming out of a small nation like Japan, is marketing and visibility. The visibility is increasing daily now it seems, yes, we have a ways to go but the momentum is positive.
I would like to be a fly on the wall in the music industry I have to believe the Lolla show will contiunue to influence festival organizers to add BM and get them towards or on the top of the marquee.
Asking a number of reactors this question

Band-Maid cannot be topped in my book. But please check out a very young female punk band, The Linda Lindas.

As always, a great reaction to a great song.
In terms of instrumentals, how about checking out Rie a.k.a. Surzaku's live cover of Jeff Beck's "Blue Wind" with two of Japan's great drummers, Kanade Sato and Senri Kawaguchi? ua-cam.com/video/cVfwSRnRtFU/v-deo.html
